In honor of the new and very awesome Suicide Squad trailer, Imma dump some issues from the classic late 80's/early 90's Ostrander run, starting of course with issue #1.
If they make a second SS movie, I hope the Jihad will be the bad bad guys.

Moving on to the next issue.
Boomer, you bastard
The Suicide Squad in the Dc universe is based on Task Force X. Originally they used prisoners in a military unit to do the most dangerous missions that you wouldn't send enlisted men to do. Years later Amanda Waller had the bright idea to use meta human and costumed criminals. Ostrander's run is a real treat to read unlike the current book. Wait till you see Russia's meta human team. They have an old lady who turns into a bear.
It did get better. around issue 14
Depends which deal the writer got. len wein house burn down in 2009, thanks to luscious fox in the nolan trilogy he brought a house.
“When I work for DC, anything I create I get a piece of. Lucius Fox, for example, who was in the last trilogy of Batman movies played by Morgan Freeman, bought my new house. At Marvel, I did see a check off The Wolverine, the current film. But as a rule I don’t any of the ancillary money off of all of the toys and soaps and shampoos and skateboards and God knows what else that features the character.”
— veteran writer and editor Len Wein, who co-created the Batman supporting character Lucius Fox and the wildly popular Wolverine, talking about his compensation for film adaptations during a Television Critics Association panel for the upcoming PBS miniseries Superheroes: A Never-Ending Battle.
According to TheWrap, Wein said that although there have been six movies featuring Wolverine, “esoteric rules” mean that he was only compensated for the most recent one, because it was named for the character. The requirements are so strict that he didn’t receive a check for 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
OP is a hero. one of dc's ll time best comics right hurr
also the reason if you put a gun to my head i'd say i'm dc is bc of this book. never found a marvel equivalent that I liked, T-bolts is closest I think
original op left so i took over
It's insane how much better this comic is than the movie looks. What are the chances that Boomer gets Slipknot killed and then laughs about it? Do you think we'll get to see the pie wars? I'm disappointed that they put Katana in the movie in place of duchess, but I guess that's to be expected when they take more inspiration from New 52 instead of Superior Ostrander's.
DC started pushing katana since brave and the bold. sad her solo series suck
The 80s was the GOAT layout era wasnt it?
Everyone aping Miller and Gibbons making everything so easily readable. May also have been tgat there were actually layout artists since comicswere actually profitable
Now it's a shitshow.
And that was the worst time of his life.
thank you Morgan freeman
