Being cold don't give a person a cold, certain pathogens are needed for a cold. On the other hand being cold can lower your immune response and the cilia in your respiratory tract stops when you lower their temperature so these factors can increase you chances of developing a disease once you get in contact with a pathogen but I don't know how big is the effect of all this on the statistics. I know that small kids have more respiratory problems when it is cold.

There is also the fact that windows are more likely to be closed in winter than in summer so you get that effect too.

Not really, according to wikipedia it was popularized in dagashi stores in the 50's, it's a pretty new invention. Although I'm sure the chinese chowmein variant has existed in Japan for longer, but they're totally different dishes except for the fact that they can both be called yakisoba.

There's also shioyakisoba, but that's even more of a new thing.

Maybe if you are young but I have seen some dishes change, others not so much. Not saying that the traditional style is better or worse but I like to know how things originated and how different influences changed it.

Some of the stuff they made mixing modern western stuff is pretty good, other combinations are not much my thing. Traditional Japanese cuisine had a certain limitation of ingredients since they lived in islands with limited resources but they went around that by using fermentation and consuming a wider variety of sea products. Their traditional sweets on the other hand mostly taste similar.
