I think the problem with Old Steve was that it wasn't very consistent as to how fit he was. In Squadron Supreme, Nighthawk mentioned that he needed all of his focus to beat him, even though the fucker was way too old to be out in the field in the first place. Deodato draws him as ridiculously ripped, but that's Deodato, so eh. Other times we see him walking around with a cane like he should be. So I guess this just makes Uncanny Avengers a bit easier to deal with.

Reading for continuity is doing it wrong, reading for characters getting into different situations and seeing how they uniquely handle it is fun.
