When a meteor crashes to Earth, bringing with it an unspeakable alien presence that terrorizes a nearby small town, the lucky ones die first. As for the rest, they find themselves locked in a hellish struggle for control of their bodies and their minds. This isn’t just an invasion. It’s an infestation. What would you do if the greatest threat to humanity was hidden away inside you?
Award-winning writer J.T. Krul (Teen Titans, Green Arrow, Jirni) and superstar-in-the-making V. Ken Marion (All New Soulfire, Jirni) bring you their dark and horrifying science-fiction epic about tortured souls who are cursed to a fate worse than death...much worse.
T-thanks DC. I'm glad Omega Men is getting cancelled for this.
Okay, while I love Gunfire because I have a softspot for loser characters, Bloodlines does not deserve a revival because of how much of an uninspired cash-grab it was at the expense of X-Men's "Golden Era" in the 90's
you may be familiar with his most famous work
THIS is why I only support Marvel (and some indie m books). Instead of buying complete Garbage like this or American Alien or Justice League, why not just buy a GOOD book? Like Ms Marvel, A-Force, Hellcat, Howard the Duck, Sex Criminals, Lumberjanes, Bitch Planet, and Rat Queens
What if DC brought back Tommy without Ennis?
It's a pinup from JLA/Hitman. I think?
You mention this same complaint in every DC thread. Go shitpost somewhere else.
Are they really reviving one of the worst things to come out of 90s DC comics?
>Krul is writing it
A match made in heaven. These two deserve each other. At least this will keep him from ruining any other books. 100% glad.
Bloodlines was DC Crossover in the 90's about Alien Parasites who try to take over the earth and as side effect power up a number of people, Basically every tie in book created a brand new character but only one character (Hitman) is remembered fondly.
you're thinking of Bloodpool, a spin off of Youngblood
lol this is literally an Aspen book masquerading as a DC one, who the fuck wants this?
Very kind of them to make it a miniseries with all original characters so it can be safely ignored though.
I don't know why you guys are Krul-bashing right now. I'll admit I haven't read much of him, but his 12 + #0 CAPTAIN ATOM issues at the start of the New 52 were pretty good. I kinda understand he can be bland, but really he ain't nothing awful compared to the awfulness or boredom most comic book writers are paid to deliver nowadays
>Very kind of them to make it a miniseries with all original characters so it can be safely ignored though
Even though I hate to admit that a namefag could say something not entirely autistic, but this is mostly true. At most of the new input DC has been delivering this past year, my first thought usually is "oh, good, at least this shit book I've never asked for will be safely contained in a 6-issues TPB no one will never ask a reprint for anyway".
>I didn't ask for this book, therefore it's shit
>written by J.T. Krul
>mfw if they try to use this to reintroduce Hitman
I didn't say I was going to read it, what's with you retard?
Typical faggot green-text. Tell me son, how did you enjoy:
>Teen Titans vol.5
>Deathstroke vol.3 by T.S. Daniel lol
>Secret Six by Gail Simone kek
>Black Canary (literally hipster trash)
>Earth 2: Society
>Red Hood / Arsenal
>Harley's Little Black Book
>Suicide Squad Most Wanted
>Harley Quinn/Power Girl
If you tell me you've ever wanted those, and that you enjoyed more than, say, 2 of those, you're either a casual, a fag, a pleb, a liar, or all of the above.
Starfire is good and I'll read Suicide Squad's Most Wanted because Rob Williams is crushing it on Martian Manhunter right now.
No one was asking for Omega Men. No one was asking for Prez, there's nothing wrong with swinging for the fences.
People hate him for his Cry of Justice spin-offs. To be fair, the entire event was terrible and editorial might've had a hand in it.
What I've read of his Teen Titans and Green Arrow is pretty safe. Uninteresting but unoffensive. I imagine this will be much the same.
>Uninteresting but unoffensive
Aye, this is exactly Krul to me.
>No one was asking for Omega Men. No one was asking for Prez
Now I'm going to agree with you, but that what I said => for 2 or 3 surprising good titles, we have dozens that nobody asked for and which go die and wither after the 6th installment because they're pure trash.
>Secret Six is great
It looks like it took some time, and even though it might be 'ok', I hate Gail Simone both as a human being and a writer too much to support her in any way
>Earth 2 Society just got Abnett on the title and he really turned it around immediately
No, you can't say that after one issue. Let's give it a few more issues (and maybe a reboot according to BC) and then we'll see.
>No, you can't say that after one issue. Let's give it a few more issues (and maybe a reboot according to BC) and then we'll see.
I don't know how he's going to handle the setting or the bullshit history that this series has now, but all the characters were bang on the money (Jay's still too much of a fuckup for my tastes though) which endears me a lot to it.
I mean for fuck's sake, Alan is back to being a big green gay CEO and it's GREAT.
Nope, you must be someone who doesn't know how to read:
>If you tell me you've ever wanted those, and that you enjoyed more than, say, 2 of those
Since I respect a tad the notion of subjectivity, I gave ye the possibility to like one of those (for you it seems like it's Bizarro). You'll do better at school tomorrow kid, don't worry ;^)
I think what he meant was that at least if they're things that would sell well it makes sense for DC to put shitty books out, but when they're shitty and obviously there's no market for them it's just a poor business decision for them to exist.
But you seem to enjoy being mad so I'll leave you alone after this one.
>starts a company war
>accuses others of being childish
That means they generally expect that there's a fanbase for it that will buy it. I don't think she's a big enough name to get shops to over-order to get a variant just because but I guess we'll see.
It doesn't take place in the New 52. It's its own thing in the "story over continuity" direction they've pushed.
Even without that though, we know that Hitman took place because Hacken is running Noonan's in Tomasi's run of Batman and Robin.
Stop acting like a moron. With titles getting canceled due to low sales you'd hope they'd get replaced with other great ones, but understanding that it's a business you assume another Batman centered ongoing, or Batman/Wonder Woman and hope for the best.
What is the purpose of ...this? It doesn't look particularly interesting, Krul is a hack with a few good projects in there, the art looks shitty... And it sure as hell doesn't look like it's going to sell.
She's certainly well-known but I don't think you'll see the sort of appreciation on the price of a variant that would make it worthwhile for a shop to increase orders on a book only for that. Doesn't seem to have that kind of crazy collector fanbase behind her at least.
>Stop acting like a moron.
Hey, you're the solipsist here; if I behave like that it's because you want to. I mean, you solipsists create universes, don't you?
>What is the purpose of ...this?
Some chaos in your creation, god who passes as a NEET.
Don't worry anon, I already pointed out in this thread what you just summed up (ie: this boik won't sell and won't be good, so what's the point?) and the guy called me a solipsist.
Clearly, we can at least praise /co/ for having more subtle kinds of baiters ans trolls
It's a damn sight better so far.
Heroes aren't trying to kill each other and no one's been killed for no reason. And he remembered they're called Wonders.
If he can keep it going for a while after he's spread a bit less thinly, he might be able to turn it around.
Alan is now Businessman Swamp Thing instead of Green Dr. Manhattan
Hawkgirl got some dialogue and page time
Dr. Fate and Steel showed up again
The issue wasn't nonsensical flashbacks, Superman and/or Batman wank, or hero vs. hero shit
It wasn't perfect but it was the best Earth 2 related thing since before WE
>a company doesn't do what consumers want it to do
Jeez, and you're surprised DC is bleeding money? Also, if you're not entitled as a buyer, you must end up paying way too much for shit service in life man
>buying comics you hate
Yeah, Dick was in a page in New Gotham or whatever it is called.
Though I don't get why everyone is creaming their pants over Abnett on Earth 2. It was a very minor improvement and is still a really mediocre book.
>Though I don't get why everyone is creaming their pants over Abnett on Earth 2. It was a very minor improvement and is still a really mediocre book.
It did show signs of improvement but I think some folks are just getting their hopes up too high
I liked seeing Alan back to (relatively) normal but I think anything Abnett could potentially do with the book is crippled by having to follow after WE and Wilson
It's more the fact that a lot of us really loved the characters in Robinson's run and were crushed when the development we wanted to see got flushed down the shitter. Abnett appears to pick back up a lot of aspects of those characters that we enjoyed so we're more hopeful that things will be more interesting to follow in that respect.
>I think anything Abnett could potentially do with the book is crippled by having to follow after WE and Wilson
Not the guy you replied to, but that's kind of why I didn't get excited for the creator change. I'm pretty confident that the put him on the book to tie up loose ends, basically the same thing that happened with JLU. Maybe he'll get a relaunch to do what he wants with the characters later on, but I can't get hype for it now.
Yeah I wasn't terribly excited to see him on the book because now it's too little too late, he got dealt a shit status quo to work with and with the sales relatively low and interest flatlining I wouldn't be surprised at all if he's just there to wrap up the book with issue 12
Are you sure? Everything about the developments in this issue screamed "Jumping-On Point" to me. They had expository dialogue for people who didn't read World's End/Convergence and three or four new plot threads.
