Donut Steel strikes back
Let's have another good ol fashioned OC thread.
Post your original characters and story ideas, give feedback, make requests, etc
This guy isn't mine, he's a friend's character who I redesigned a bit.
He has water/ice abilities and can transform into a dragon.
I could really use some feedback on this one design.
Mrs. Faythorne. She's supposed to be the head of a town council that basically controls the place. She's a close descendant of a coven that used to lord over the town, and as such, she grew up drinking in good ol' granny's stories of the golden days, and has a hidden obsession about it. As a hint towards that, she arranged the council to be made entirely of women who are bloodlines from the old coven, but really, it's only her that believes so hard. So, when magical shit starts to get confirmed for real, her obsession possesses her, and she uses everything she can with her position to bring back the good ol' days.
She's the antagonist, by the way, and these colors were just here to flesh out the concept, not final. I'm having trouble designing her head mostly. I wanted the annoyed witch bitch expression that hid the wide-eyed obsession she's got.
Holy shit that was long.
She came to me in a dream, she's a sweet Robot chick named Neutra.
I fucked up on her left hand
This is the original Art of her.
I was planning on making a comic for her, but I wanna reboot another comic series of mine.
This is Rococo Feathersworth, she is really good at one thing, kicking ass, but actually not much else.
She isn't particularly good at stuff that she wanted to do, like running a bakery, or baking in general, but she does her earnest best.
Here's an Album of some of my concepts for Rabidtha/Tabitha. It's a comic series about 2 magical sisters and the world around them.
Trapsuperhero with the power of a sun. Costume is created from their energy.
Looks and sounds cool. Reminds me of One Piece.
Interesting design. I'd like to see something a bit more finished to give a better analysis of her look. I don't see anything wrong, though. As for the bio, maybe it'd be best to sum up her backstory a little better and keep it simple.
Interesting. What's her powers and what's her story?
Does she get herself in violent situations or do they just happen to her? Does she like fighting or is it like work to her. That'd be an interesting thing. Her work is like a hobby and something like fighting constantly ends up being her job.
Looks good, keep it up! It's probably best to post more info in the thread in case there are those that don't want to click on the link.
Channeling some serious darksteel there
I dig the hair but not so much the scarf. Try that with a shawl. If you're going for a powersuit thing add some lapels, if not add some buckles. Plain spandex is pretty boring.
I like this one a lot. Care to show us more angles? This one >>79100147 underplays her. Her posture in the second is very manlike with the short neck and the stout shoulders.
good stuff. Will you colour it?
I'm getting some Templar Assassin vibes here. I like, your faces all look the same though so maybe work on that
There's something pretty unnerving here but I can't quite put my finger on it. Post some more pics of them so I can make a verdict.
I've been meaning to draw one of my OC's for a while, I'll go take a bath and have a go at it. Keep this thread alive until I come back.
Unnerving? This? Nawwww...
Finally, I can get away from the smut donut steel and into clean/fun one.
His name is Arthur Aetheron and he is an elf with technomancy powers. He'd like to join the magical academies nearby so he could have a better chance at entering the Imperial University to research on more arcane efficient golems.
Sadly, Arthur is currently confined to public schooling due to many expulsions involving "human test-subjects".
Alright so I don't have much about Neutra, but like Both her story and Rabidtha/Tabitha deal with 8 elements. R/Tabitha deal with Magic USers of the 8 elements of Water, Fire, Earth, Wind, Lightning, Light, Dark, and Poison, and the secret ninth element Neutral. Magic History and lore and shit.
Neutra on the other hand so far only has robots named after the 8 + 1 elements, Neutra, Boreas, etc... It's gonna be action based and hopefully a lot more fighting. If there will be more characters, they would have decent development time, but seriously don't know which direction I'm gonna take it.
There aren't anymore angles because I simply haven't drawn her enough yet. The first image was like the second time I've actually drawn her outside her initial concept, which was the second picture I posted.
As for the same faces, WORKING WORKING WORKING! Shit is difficult. Fiare is a Fire Mage and thats seriously all I have for her and of her.
Thanks for the Feedback.
This is Angelite Miller, xe's the great-grandchild of Sadie and Lars Miller, and grandchild Pearl and Stevonnie. Xe's super calm all the time which is why xe never opens xer eyes to see, because xe's so in tune with the environment. Xer weapons are The Peace Orb and Goalie Gloves, and when not jamming on the guitar with xer Great Grandfather and Grandmapa, xe's conpeting in intergalactic soccer oturnaments and is a one gem team. Xe got offered a promotion to BLue Diamond a literal dozen times but turned it down every time to spend time with Amethyst. Also xe can walk on water and surf good.
Forgot to mention, as for powers, this is at the top of my head and is subject to change: Super Strength, (as much as I hate it) Flight, repulsion shields, Maybe limited adaptability.
yeah, her bio is a bit much. how about,
Mrs. Faythorne, head of a council of witch descendants formed from her own design. Due to her obsession of the days when witches lorded, she uses everything in her power to regain that state once magical things happen before her.
Is that better? Ah, and here's some sketches of the protag, but I don't have time to type out the bio right now.
Here she is, Morganelle.
A modern-day english maid that's starting to get somewhat tired of her job, and the people she lives with.
She's rather self indulgent, but deep down, Morgan really does care about the people she serves.
I love this one. I imagine him being sarcastic and having a very nasal voice. Post more?
Please go. Just leave
Is this a kid or a squid? I like. Post more?
At first glance she appears to be fapbait but your story makes her interesting. Your writing will be the make or break deal for her in my opinion.
Crank Fastle, The Retaliator
most of his stories revolve around blasting away guineas, daegos and wops to smithereens (set to an 80s soundtrack)
Thanks, anon. Glad you mentioned that too, because really does have this really nasally and pretentious sounding voice. I've got to go to a D&D session soon, but here are his two friends that I've posted now and then on these threads.
Lu Lu: Standoffish, she keeps to herself and is not reluctant to punch people. Lu-lu hopes to join the Town Guard or of some sort law-enforcement agency when she's older. But she's cool with Soren because they've been close since childhood.
Soren: A 14 year old kid with a bright head and a kind heart. He is dragged along on many unnecessary adventures.
If I'm back home in time, I'll post one more character.
What do you mean by "darksteel"? If you mean coldsteel the hedgeheg, this guy's not actually edgy.
He's actually pretty optimistic and cheerful.
It's his brother who's the edgelord.
more characters from the same story/universe; these two are angels.
Okay...Do you want know about her character?
Alright here's my thing, it's an old photo though (19/08/2015)
I don't have a name for him yet, maybe I'll call him Gareth.
His primary motivation is fame, bards singing his name and bad guys shuddering at his ire etc.
He acts hard but he's actually very unsure of himself.
His weapon is just a staff with lenses on top, no mechanical properties, much like his wand-sidearm. He casts spells with them, fireballs etc.
Both his parents were max level characters and they raised him from childhood to be a successful adventurer. When he had a fight with a kid at school, they made him break into his 'dungeon' (his house), beat the other kid and 'loot' him (take all his stuff). His mother was a necromancer and used raised skeletons to teach him about the importance of brushed your teeth.
I plan on making a comic where he's one of the protagonists and he slowly discovers that maybe he doesn't want to be an adventurer.
I'll draw a resign of him right now so maybe you'll get to see your feedback take root live.
Attempting to make a Samurai Pizza Cats OC. Not a hero or villain, just an extra. She works at an arcade, and has a few elements reflecting this in her design (joystick hair pin, JAMMA harness comb, coin slots and buttons on obi backpack, and belt-mounted coin dispenser). At this point she still looks a little generic, I want to come up with a few more things to make her more unique. I've already given her whiskers and a "3" mouth, which most of the typical "cute" females in the show lack, so that's a start.
I mean't the design, not his personality. It's all the spikes and purple I think. I like these >>79101987 ones much more, they're more down to earth. Not saying everything needs to be dull and ordinary but you don't need spikes and bright colours to make something stand out
They're cuties, but maybe the femme fatale thing is a bit overplayed. She needs something more going for her. What period is your story taking place in? I see ties and suspenders but you said there's magic so I'm curious.
Okay maybe I was a bit hard on you, don't leave but I'll be honest with you.
It's a shitty SU recolor, you can work on that by making your own thing instead of filing in the lines. I know it's safe to stay in someone else's shadow but if you want to be your own artist you'll have to depart from other people's artstyle.
The only thing she's got going for her is that she's a trans pacifist, work on that by giving her a real identity instead of one defined by gender. I'm talking about traits, flaws, motivations and aspirations.
Lastly, that pronoun thing is very cringey, you immediately label yourself as a tumbler. If you're insistent on using neutral pronouns you can use 'they' or 'it'. 'Xe' is not a real word.
Is this ironic?
I love this one. Maybe the waist is a bit busy but overall it's great. Post more?
I'm having trouble coming up with clothing that isn't boring or gaudy. Realistically the characters would never wear the headdresses, but it gives you the general idea. A neurotic cult leader and a fake sun goddess.
I dig your artstyle my man. Show us some full bodied ones so we know what you're talkning about the clothes.
Also what makes her a fake? Is she scamming people or she just doens't have powers?
my friend and I worked on one a while ago, unfortunately neither of us are drawfags but I can give a general quick description. She was a girl whose power was that her whole body was hyper dense, to the point where she weighed a little over a ton. because of this her pigment was concentrated enough that her skin, hair, irises, etc were all pure black and anywhere with no pigment (like sclera) was red due to the blood vessels being so densely packed. The whole idea with her powers we were going for was showcasing the upsides and downsides of her density, including things like whenever she got cut her blood was under such high pressure that it fired out like a pressure cutter. The general story thing was that she was traumatized by the events of getting her powers and so had two different "worlds" the story followed, the real world where she went around with an animal-like mentality working for the shady group that made her as a war machine and the inner world in her head where she rationalized it all as random college antics.
i dig this. I'd draw her but I'm not good at drawing reflective surfaces.
The human-warmachine is pretty overplayed but the second premise sounds fun. With some good writing this could be really interesting.
Why don't you have a go at drawing her for us? It doesn't have to be any good, just try to show us what she looks like in your mind. Don't be afraid of drawing shitty drawings!
That's okay! Even the shittiest drawing is better than no drawing. It's not that you shouldn't strive to be good, just don't get frustrated that it's not as good as you'd want and scrap it.
>I love this one. Maybe the waist is a bit busy but overall it's great. Post more?
Things sometimes get a bit busy in that show's designs due to the mecha aesthetic. I suppose in the waist area I could tone down the folds at the top of the side kimono skirt plates (that was sort of an attempt to give that area something different from similar designs in the show). As far as more stuff, that's really the only donut steel I have at the moment. Everything else is just fanart of actual characters in the show.
Well that's why I said 'maybe' and 'a bit', it's not really glaring, I just wanted to bring to your attention so you can purposely choose whether to keep it or not. It's your character afterall!
You really don't see how it's basically fanart? You tried your best to make a character that would fit in with the rest of the crowd if it was in the show. That's not just having training wheels in your drawing but in your writing as well.
Okay I'm pretty tired so I'll just go to sleep and maybe redraw this tomorrow. If you have any suggestions just leave them here and I'll see them tomorrow on the archive.
Good night /co/
>Onyx is just an intentionally-shitty knockoff of Raiden from Revengeance
Gets me every time
I hope you see this.
I going to try drawing her again
I hope i am able to post this without any problems. But i'm spoilering the picture just to be safe.
Those two are Greg and Lillian. I don't have much of a backstory for the two yet, but they work on an antique store, and do some treasure hunting on the side.
Is he serious sam's cousin?
Damn, my dastardly plot has been unveiled!
On an unrelated note, this is an actual OC of mine. His name is Joey and he's a mechanic in the Mushroom Kingdom.
Meet Stephanie and Daniel Count. She's 18 and he's 22. They're siblings and both still living at their parents'.
Stephanie is a techno freak who sleeps in a sleeping bag on the floor because she transformed her bedroom into a sound/movie studio. Her ambition is to make it big someday as a tv/movie producer. She is skilled and could get a job any place, but she'd rather work full time on her own projects. She might be a lil' flaky, though.
Daniel Count (or Count Dany Hell, as he is known on the net) is a Fedora-Neckbeard and he has the personnality to match: Into anime and girl cartoon series, describes himself as a Nice Guy and wonders why his being a Gentleman-Knight still hasn't been covering him with girls yet. You may mock his weilding a katana but you'll soon regret it because he handles it with surpsising skills. Writing fanfics since he was 12 made him a skilled writer who doesn't need to rely on other people's creations anymore. He lives on little writing/illustrations contracts here and there, and is always ready to help his sis with her crazy plans.
>neckbeard hero fantasy with qt little sister character
Of course. I know what you think: "Hey, that must be his Marty-Stu." Nope! But one day, I realized something: These guys read lots of comics. And, they are represented in a negative way. They'll probably appreciate to see a fedora-neckbeard as a main character, for once. Not as a great hero, not as a total loser, but as something in-between. Just like in real life.
I'll bite but there's probably gonna be hate.
As of yet unnamed, she's a dungeon boss in... you guessed it, a dungeon. Would-be wannabe heroes and adventures enter the dungeon for the loot, battle their way through endless traps, she's the end game.
Dargon lady doesn't lose.
I have a lose concept of a comic in the works.
>You may mock his weilding a katana but you'll soon regret it because he handles it with surpsising skills.
> Writing fanfics since he was 12 made him a skilled writer who doesn't need to rely on other people's creations anymore.
Dargon fem-dude who works in the dungeon. Repairs shit, resets traps, and cleans up all the dead adventurers after the fighting is over. Jack of all trades type deal.
He's the protagonist.
There will be /ss/.
The whole thing is based around his bar.
He's a fat angry dwarf who's beard is connected to his eyebrows.
The town is the cross roads of dimensions, where all those mages and heroes that teleport and use portals end up before continuing there destinations.
Picture wouldn't upload.
He has a iron nose.
here's a group of misfits that are part of a fighter's guild. they end up saving the world or something eventually.
I like the grey in the beard, but the mustache is weird. Did it start out grey and then grow in red? That aside, I like it.
How'd he lose his eye/ nose? And he better have a guitar.
Thanks man, that's a great compliment.
She was thrust into violent situation when she was young, its her formative experience, but she wanted to be different, but her past keep catching up to her.
Probably not that one, at least not yet.
Yeah? Why is that? Any suggestions? >>79104327
I see it, thanks. For some reason your version always more hardcore looking than mine...
Last one in the series. This guy is a god who was kicked out of the pantheon and trapped in a mortal form, and now he's mad as hell.
He's also trying to stop Leviathan from awakening and flooding the world.
This my OC Attarra. She's an arena fighter also known as 'The Scarred Princess'. Once a royal from a far off fallen kingdom, she was captured and sold. Forced to fight, she eventually grows into a near unstoppable champion, yet her hubris and love of opiates ultimately leads to her downfall.
Here is the finish product.
hope you like it.
alright, done. Sorry that took so long, the printer's scanner was on the fritz all day. Also sorry for shitscribble art level of course.
also bonus of when I put it through the scanner on "black and white" mode. should be renamed to "nightmare mode". Also, regarding some of her features- the hair is like that due to her dense structure, her hairs are all practically straight needles. the mask is mostly there for in-story reasons due to weird psychological shit and out-of-story reasons because I'm shit at drawing faces.
Takua-ua and alien from outer space who just looks for odd jobs with the rest of his crewmates.
Aliens who drink together, think together.
This is Rochelle Colvert, youngest child and second daughter of a noble family and knight in training. She's a fairly soft spoken but very intelligent young woman (early 20s) who earnestly wants to become a great and noble knight and champion to follow in the footsteps of her elder Sister. However her competency and confidence in physical combat is fairly lacking and her gentle demeanor leads to others often being very dismissive of her. However she's highly persistent and possess a surprising natural talent for tactics, and often manages to solve her problems in creative ways.
As part of her training, and to more or less keep her busy and out of more pressing affairs within the family household, she's sent off on a mission to investigate rumors of unrest and rising numbers of inhuman creatures. During her wild goose chase, which she takes with the utmost sincerity, she comes across a Dhampir, Ghoul and Half-Ogre trio (the other main characters of the story) who spend their time working as mercenaries and bounty hunters. Deciding they have something to do with the trouble brewing in the country side and elects to follow them.
Eventually, situations lead to them becoming friends and the four of them continue on to discover a secret plot by certain villainous factions to raise an army of unstoppable beasts using the legendary Blood of the Titan. A plot that not only threatens the world with an army of unstoppable rage beasts, but also brings with it the risk of awakening the long thought dead Titan himself.
Stupidly old and stupidly ugly art, but this is basically one of my only "full body" shots of my OC hero "Bulletproof". He's gone through some concept iterations since this, and basically he's sort of the premier hero of a whole setting, basically...
>All myths are true
>Metahumans have existed since basically forever
>Super Geniuses like Da Vinci and Tesla (plus one OC scientist who got the bright idea to send back modern medical concepts to ancient Rome) pushed science forward rediculously
>Story is set during the resulting alternate 1960's, with all the nightmares it implies such as...
>Nigh over-the-counter gene modding, easy-access cybernetics, household magic and alchemy and
>Government psychics and a metahuman draft to fight commies/capitalist dogs
Basically, the whole world is summed in the tagline: Superpowers are everyday, but heroes are rare.
Bulletproof himself is not the strongest hero (in fact, the government passed him over in favor for the guy who was basically Superman), the fastest, or the smartest. but he's a delicate balance of these things that he combines with training and quick-thinking that puts him on par with nearly global scale threats.
This thread is dying fast, so I better post this now.
This handsome young man is Baronet Brian Balder Baldur Balger Valdus. But he's better known as "Barry" by his friends, and "Baby" by his girlfriend. He is part of clan of nobles who have served the empire's legions for several generations. Adventurous and brave, Barry goes on several expeditions around the country to lost cities and temples to collect artifacts for museums. Often does he drag Soren on his journeys into perilous situations that could have been so easily avoidable.
>She needs something more going for her.
She actually does, but if I get around to actually telling their story its a bit of a minor spoiler.
Lu-Lu is actually a superheroine named Scarlet Sparrow, and is the 6th iteration.
>What period is your story taking place in? I see ties and suspenders but you said there's magic so I'm curious.
Imagine a world of fantasy and endless wonder, but then fast forwarded to a time where that's all over and there's a system for everything. The setting has a really big 1950's flair with much optimism and hope of bright futures. I think a lot of stories like to deconstruct the 50's as a bleak era, but I'm looking for a reconstruction of sorts.
Shit. Oh well ,if the thread is still alive tomorrow I'll fix the mouth and draw the rest of her body
first was a concept but I guess all in all these are just doodles that I do from time to time
not necessarily OC since I have no background, name or writing for them, but original doodles nonetheless
Something I drew up on a plane. It has something to do with something that's been in my head for a while now, not good at translating it to paper
looks good. Any ideas for the story behind him? Makes me think of some kind of modern, Templar-themed superhero.
Can I pitch a name for her? I was thinking "Flatscreen".
Alright. So, was it just the design that made you think Linkara or the story?
a little demon thing who i doodle a lot. i kind of wish it were cuter but idk
Oh sorry, the backstory so far is he's a guy that lives on his own in the outskirts of London, which is walled around. The world being post apocalyptic, though after a couple hundred years it's rebuild itself. His cape thing ain't Templar, it's the Union Jack, a poor rendition out of memory
A brutal, disfigured bounty hunter and mercenary scouring the galaxy to find the ones who did him wrong. Kaine has a feirce, ongoing blood vendetta with the Hutts; looking to systematically destroy them slug by slug with his bare hands. After winding up on a pirate vessel and forced into role of jailer, the man thought his chance to destroy the alien crime family was over; until one day, a lone padawan was captured and brought to the brig...
Kaine's personality can be described as a cold, angry and tormented Jonah Hex. He has a dry, almost morbid sense of humor with an attitude to match. He fights dirty, brutal and destructive in approach. Despite his disfigurement and scary mannerisms, the man has gone out of his way to help the defenseless in his own way on few occassions. Perhaps not as diplomatic as a Jedi but sometimes a blaster pinned to the throat and a few broken bones can get the job done. He'll take on any jobs that could hurt the Hutts, Empire be damned. He has no viewpoint about the ongoing war, doing whatever it takes to further his own goals. He is a man with nothing left to lose and even if he could turn himself around, he doesn't believe he deserves any of it. The further he distances himself from people, the better.
A veteran at the age of 35, he knows his way in and out of the galaxy and is genre savvy enough to out-wit even the deadliest of foes. His piloting skills are above average, but enough for his line of work. He prefers his LPA NN-14 blaster but can and will use more destructive weapons- be it a rocket launcher or the environment itself. Has a particular fascination with heatblades (especially when used on a screaming Hutt.).
aaaaaaaaaawe shiiit, my favorite type of threads!
I posted a long ass time ago with another one of my drill gals... I still don't what to do with them.
I slightly have background stories for them, I for sure want them to be demons or some type of devils?
I want to work on them with two of my chums but they're being big bastards.
May I draw your cuite ass character anon?
Also here is my other drill character.
She's adorable. Or he. Either way I want to hug them.
Ah, I see it now, sorry it was more the lack of coloring that threw me. Sounds interesting. So London is rebuilt but the rest of England isn't?
[Desire to know more intensifies]
Interesting, feels mildly typical but that's just star wars, isn't it?
Though, is there a reason he hasn't gotten cybernetics? I mean in both old and new EU, we've seen people with worse injuries pick things up with some cybernetic implants.
I'll upload when I awake, hopefully this thread will still be up by then
This is my OC Bonertard, the Boner Retard.
He loves chillin at the comic store, snackin on mac n' cheese and hanging with his buds.
Don't make fun.
first time doing one of these threads so forgive me.
Girl on the left is a mad scientist airship captain who flies through the sky with her Frankensteinian crew through storms to power her experiments
Guy on the left is an elderly assassin turned hired gun who is all about getting paid and doing his job. Carries a long walking staff that ends up being part of a sniper rifle. The other parts of which he carries around his body but they're so customized and strange looking they just look like odd baubles to the naked eye.
They work together in a crew of about 9 people to get revenge on some old bastards and rebuild yggdrasil
This is the alchemist. He lives in a small village that he is trying to save from a prophetic calamity that will wipe them out. He is the primary antagonist.
Nothing wrong with waifus. I love drawing 'em, to be honest. Easy as fuck, and relaxing.
Little rushed, hope that's ok.
I couldn't really get a feel of him, sorry man.
Holy shit. I love her.
Oh, he looks so sweet.
Loving both of these, especially the captain. I also really like your artstyle.
Maybe put something at the bottom-end of the sniper tube, a big concern of weapons maintenance is stuff not getting in that tube so seeing it exposed like that bothers me.
Looks pretty boring but you seem to be purposely doing that. He's the blends-in-the-crowd type and that can be scary for a villain. Paint me interested in reading your comic when you publish it.
A dank boy hero who is too pure for this world
So I was plotting out a concept a while ago about coolness.
Specifically the philosophy of cool and what I mean to be cool, or what TRUE cool is. I thought about it for a long time because I wanted to make a series about the nature of cool.
The idea being that the characters would be powered simply by being cool, cool being a use-able and measurable resource, like natural mana in a fantasy setting.
I like really campy stories and upbeat comedy so the idea really appealed to me.
Started making characters based around troupes used to signify the coolest of characters
I.e: Bad-ass, smooth, classy, etc
These first two are Captain Handsome and a currently unnamed Scary guy. Captain Handsome is the representation of total confidence, which is the most common aspect of cool. He's a rock of smug hope. His powers are all about flashy big lights and silly poses.
The scary guy is based on the classic troupe of: Born evil but chooses to be good/using my dark powers to help people.
Bad guys tend to be cooler than good guys, people like anti heroes and whatnot. And it's always super fucking cool to watch the dark overlord go all out and wreck someone with his evil magic. He dresses like a TV show host to try and be less scary but always comes of as creepy. He even has a stand up set that's just sad to listen to because all the jokes end really morbidly because he don'st get humor.
These two are the concepts of Elegance and Bad-ass.
Elegance is the sleepy girl, her ice powers let her drift around and float, forming beautiful ice sculptures to attack people. She's lankier than I've drawn her here, I wanted her long limbs and hair to flow when to flies around and summons winds. She's also supposed to be chill, a horrible pun I know. Relaxed and such.
The second character is Bad-ass. They're tough as shit, and are the kind of person that tanks a punch to the face and keeps talking because your punches are weak shit to them. Naturally they ride a motorbike, which they can pick up and turn into a huge petrol bursting giant mace thing that belongs on a metal album cover.
They cover most of their body because naturally they've been though a lot and have scars due to their dark and mysterious past.
They also turn out to be a cyborg, mostly rebuilt after a huge crash.
Yeah, essentially. England and its key cities, London and such(idk the others), are in pretty well conditions. London is overseen by the queen while the key cities are ruled by dukes and such, I don't know much about the British hierarchy and status'.
That's pretty great actually. Kinda reminds me of Kill la Kill's nudity power. Fun roster and fun concept.
If you have any more of these guys or just their concept, please share them.
Personally I want to see Stealth-ass and Suave-ass. Maybe Wise-ass too (as in has much life experience and does the right thing and knows what to do, not book-smart know-it-all).
I am Not an Artist. i am an Idea Man. and i got an Idea for a OC. was wondering if anybody be willing to Draw Her.
1.) This Hair
2.) This Body and skin
3.) Outfit Similar to this.
Please and Thank you.
I posted this before a while back.
Det. S. Cary Crowe, and Det. Tim Woodman of E.C.P.D.(Emerald City Police Department).
They are major crimes detectives in a 70's styled Detroit-esque Emerald City.
Magic soldier chick working for a dictatorship.
She's a Drifter. No Memory of her past. all she has to go by is an old Book with a name written into the back
"Abigail" taking the name as her own she Travels to find her past. and hopefully a future.
She Does have Powers such as Flight. and "Combat Merging" which is the Ability to Infuse the Elements into your fighting Style. over time she also learns how to fire a Green Beam out of her hands that can do some damage.
Yeah I agree her hands are too small.
What helps me is to think of the football penalty kick. Most humans can cover their groin with their arms bent, she on the other hand can only cover it with her arm outstretched.
Actually, it mightn't be the proportions I messed up, besides the small hands, but the uniform. The material sags too much at the crotch.
Cheers dudes, either way I'll fix it next time.
Hey thanks dude, I'll add your descriptions of cool to my list. If you've got any more It'd be great to add those too.
So this is my favorite character, Fluffy Bunny.
She's an ordinary bunny rabbit wearing the all powerful sunglasses of pure cool. She's basically the avatar of coolness, or a walking rule-of-cool.
She's a mentor and guide figure, mostly personifying Chill-cool, helping others learn about the nature of their cool and helping them become better and cooler people. She also tries constantly to convert bad guys and help people.
Her flaws are over thinking cool and morality and letting herself suffer any time it could possibly help someone else learn and improve as a person. Also if you take her glasses off she turns into an ordinary and useless bunny rabbit.
Kill yourself. Wait, I don't want your death on my hands. Simply leave and take that to Tumblr. Hell, email it the creator of Steven Universe; she may offer you a spot as a storyboardist.
Yeah the arms are about one hands length too short.
I get that her right arm is foreshortened due to perspective but it's also too foreshortened and you've shrunk it. Left foot's a bit off too.
Minor things anon, you'll get it next time. Try drawing a rough skeleton, I find it helps proportions.
He does have cybernetics [Albeit hidden in his armoured left arm and you can see part of his skull was replaced with something metal.] Certain parts couldn't be replaced however so Kaine had to stick with bandaging most of his ugly mug up. He has a cybernetic eye that he only uses as a last resort (it fires plasma.).
Kaine's backstory does sound typical at first, but all synopsis' are like that when the full details can't be revealed... yet.
A foreigner from the religious north, Katherine Katz Tujor is the current and longest running girlfriend of the city's baronet. Before they met, Katherine was doing lots of jobs(nursing, construction worker, pilot, etc.) around the city to keep up with her apartment bills. But then she met the baronet at a museum exhibition, and developed a steady relationship from there. Katherine doesn't worry as much about finances anymore now that her boyfriend can help her get on her feet.
I have a digital render of her, but its looking quite ugly and I don't understand why.
I love everything about this story and I haven't even read it yet. Have you decided on a name for the story yet? I want to add it to my RSS already. It sounds so much fuckign fun.
Some other types of cool are:
Hero-cool, devoted to the cause and fighting for what's right without question or pause and shit.
Mastermind-cool, having long-ass plans for everything and manipulating others to be his pawns so he can pull off super elaborate schemes.
Sexy-cool, might be a bit overplayed but still.
Neutral-cool, balance and shit
that's all I can think of for now.
hey thanks! you can follow my stuff over at Jawsart.tumblr.com
thank you as well sir!
the style is a little bit of my own thrown in with the bits I love about a fella I follow on tumblr at O11.Tumblr.com if you guys dig even an ounce of my stuff his stuff is fuckin ridiculous and he's a super fuckin rad dude in general.
What does he mean by 'MACEDONIA', is he one of those guys that call the FYROM that? Because that explains why he's a faggot.
I want more of this. What are they?
Hey man every character is interesting. Even the background npc's are interesting. Hell even this >>79100975 unholy abomination is interesting. Please share it with us, I know I would like to see it.
I dig them a lot, but I feel like you could add a couple more frames of holding between loops. I can't really make out the entire design before the loop starts again if that makes sense?
Hey, guys. I'm drawing a small crowd scene for a comic today and I'd like to shove some of your OCs in it. I mostly need monsters, but humans are good too. They'd be tourists in the background while the main shit is going on. I guess they also have to be kind of kid-friendly. Any takers?
Would a Twi'lek and her adopted human son be ok?
also pardon the face i got a better Reference of her included.
helly yeah!! is this dude-o ok?
thank you! hep is...a...fuzzball? thing? monster? yeah!
yeah! that's what my friend said as well, thanks for confirming it! i'll work on it!
I don't draw a lot of creatures per se, but would moth people count?
Just do it anon. If you haven't drawn a lot before it will most definitely suck but sucky drawings are just as fun as good ones. The key is to draw something and not erase/tear it up because it sucks, because it will but you have to learn to embrace the suck. Not saying you shouldn't want to get better but don't see your sucky drawings as steps towards a destination (good drawings), every drawing is a destination.
Go draw it and love it with all its shityness and then post it here too. I can't guarantee that other people wont shit on it but done is better than perfect.
Not sure if this counts exactly as an OC but I got the inspiration to design him after listening a song with the same name below, and I really liked his design. Every single time I listen to this song I think of this guy singing it. Sorry for the lack of a drawing tablet, btw.
Somewhat of an improvement. What do y'all think?
Dude, this concept sounds amazing! Are you planning of doing a comic of it, I'd read the hell out of it and, btw, I love your designs.
Do you have
Twitter, Tumblr, anything?
Heres a little something I have been screwing around with, shes a human that was experimented with alien DNA.
Oh wow, oddly this reminds me a LOT to an OC of mine, I really like more the idea of a plug than the screen one. I'd love to see any more art from you, do you have any blog or something?
unfortunately I am a shit who doesn't update at months for a time or even upload art constantly so much like most others do due to constant work load on my angle. so its more like a small portfolio storage as of now.
and generally cartooning is new to me, so form and OC's are in limited supply at the moment
Thanks again buddy. I'll add those to the list.
Yeah the current filler name is 'Really Cool People'. I've also considered 'Cool Incorporated' since they're supposed to all live in a big building where they respond to events Justice league style.
The plan is to make it into a game (you're the new guy and half the Cool people get brainwashed into thinking you're the bad guy and you have to beat them back to they're senses) but then make comics about it as a follow up for fun.
I was planning to make it a comic before I got interested in making a game and realized how perfectly the setting and characters could be used as a game concept.
As for blogs I'm this guy:
http://sketchedatrocities.tumblr.com/post/122226318826/do-you-have-something-like-another-account-where. and the two links there are my other blogs.
I won't be making anything new for a while, since I'm doing really huge project. But I definitely will get round to it eventually.
I changed the leader of my fan gem team. from the cyclops cinnabar to the motherly quartz agate. crit much appreciated
the orange pink one is the newest designed gem, Agate. I think what the problem with jade that you see is the position of her eyes, they're very low on the face where the nose goes up into the forehead.
>all these OCs
>all these stories that could be great
>only 1 - 0.5% of them will ever get published or made into something
I got these guys.
Ths picture is from a few months ago, so they don't look exactly like this now.
I don't really feel like explaining each one, but if you guys want me to, I will.
For an animation set to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhkIRzZsZvw
It started with one of those fantastical scenes of a night sky, the kind with multiple fluorescent-colored planets, and then panned down to a profile view of a figure sitting on a small hill, which was reflected in a lake directly below it. As the bass drops at 0:11, the figure, but not the reflection, would stand up and start to stretch. The reflection would then follow, slightly more lazily, and at 0:24, they'd start to run simultaneously, as if the reflection was just a reflection again. Then it would go into a whole sequence of views playing with the space that the figures occupy, eventually revealing the male and female in pic related; like, the line separating the two would go slanted, and the figures would scale so how much space their side had. Or we'd change our perspective on one to a back profile and mirror it on the other with a front profile. Whatever they did, it would be mirrored in some with with the other.
At some point, it would become clear that they running/fighting their way through some sort of abstract gauntlet to get to each other, and the song would end with the barrier between them disappearing and the picture cutting out just as they reach towards each other and juuuust almost touch hands (Hitchcock Dolly Zoom-style).
Their designs were supposed to play with masculine/feminine
dualitywith the girl wearing a large loose shirt and a boyish haircut, and the guy wearing a form-fitting jumpsuit and eyeshadow/mascara. Color scheme was neon green, black, and white. Their names were Para (female) and De (male).
I ain't lettin shit stop me anon. As of right now, I'm writing my shit out in book form first, while adding illustrations (once I get some more finalized designs and shit)
It's kinda a horror-mystery themed thing, with dramatic shifts of tone between funny stuff to life-threatening circumstances/creepy scenes.
At first, I was worried it was looking like a gravity falls clone, but that's not a problem anymore. At least to me.
do you want some more info about it?
pic related is an old poster thing I made for it a long ass time ago, hence how shitty it is. I plan on redoing it sometime soon.
hey thanks man, the shawl is an idea I haven't thought of. And I wasn't trying to go for a powersuit thing, it was just supposed to be like those flowey-shirt things that I've seen lots of moms wear, but I can see how you saw that suit thing.
Im waiting on my shipment of statue kits for my OC. Ive I my got 10, and four of those are being gifted so I really onky have six. Ill try to recoup some of the cost by selling those. I wont break even, but the goal was to make something, not necessarily money.
I tried to follow your webcomic from the beginning, but I couldn't get through the first pages because of the handwriting. I'll have to try it again sometime soon.
Tell me about the brown girl with the tail.
>I'm writing my shit out in book form first
Good. Get an outline down, and edit what you don't and do need for the story as time goes on.
>I was worried it was looking like a gravity falls clone, but that's not a problem anymore
I understand that feel and glad you got over it. A lot of my work is like something that could be identified as a ripoff of something else. We just need to remember that most works are derivative from something.
Good luck, anon.
Nice to see Attarra every now and again. Also, thats some surprising development with the whole statue situation you have there.
Well, I have been working on a little webcomic idea, has shonen kind of elements in it, this is a little WIP!
btw, best OC thread I've seen so far, let's keep it going.
Not sure what I'm doing with this guy, but I like him.
I've got a couple of character designs for a story I was planning to do on a /tg/ quest thread. But the more i've been fleshing it out the more I kind of want to make it its own thing.
Definitely drawing inspiration from Starship Troopers, and should it be an interactive comic instead of a quest thread, maybe Prequel. But nothing set in stone beyond a bunch of art.
Here's an alien chick as well. Outfit isn't final, but I kind of generally like her features, weird horns, bisected mouth, weird hands and feet.
MC's main antagonist with a pissed expression. Damn this was fun to draw.
>thats some surprising development with the whole statue situation
Its been a long time coming. At least four years. Here is the prototype. Im going to have it professionally painted at some point when more cash frees up.
The brown one is a scientific faliure and it's gender is unknown. Annabeth claims to be a boy, but he doesn't really know what genitals are, so his gender is unknown.
HE's also very angry and loves to fight
Clover and Sweet Grass.
Clover (left) used to be a warrior/arena fighter who always wanted to be a musician. After a train crash she replaces her arm and starts traveling the world to become a famous musician.
Sweet Grass (right) is a small farm girl who spent her life cut off from the world. She was crippled at a young age. When she turned 22 she was given cyborg legs and left her farm. She's a musical genius who is a quick learner and can memorize melodies and tune to people well. Clover Agrees to show her the world and in exchange Sweet Grass has to join clover's music to help her sound good.
It's been a while since I dropped into one of these threads.
Due to other commitments I haven't had much time to work on my own stuff.
But I've been setting aside time and slowly building a roster of donut steels based off of superhero archetypes while giving them the stupidest names I can come up with.
Some of these designs are years apart and eventually due for a redesign some where down the line.
ATM they are as such:
The Mighty Mooseknuckle -Big guy brute, punches stuff hard.
The Courageous Camel Toe- Partner to The MMK , martial arts expert, kicks stuff hard.
The Running Gag- The Mercurial Masochist, BDSM speedster.
Stockholm and Lima- Stockholm is a masked vigilante and Lima is his "adopted" underage under dressed sidekick.
Freeze Peach- Cryokinteic
TransFats- has the abilities of Invisibility, matter phasing , limited telekinesis all tied to her caloric intake.
Secret Sauce- Hapless fast food employee who gains the ability to alter his density and viscosity after a lightning bolt strikes a shipment of special recipe "secret sauce".
[ GIGATRIGGR THE FIRST ]
It’s about an orphaned spoiled rich boy turned street punk who gets a second chance at life after his bad choices have come back to bite him. After dying, he is brought back to life by God after being charged to fix an unknown anomaly in His Divine Plan.
With an iron rod infused with the power of Creation, Garlic must decide whether to use his newly acquired power for Good, or for Evil. Meanwhile, the powers of darkness emerge from the shadows to reek havoc upon Estrella City in the form of a sinister vampire hoard, each one with odd and sinister powers.
With the world becoming a more strange and mysterious place as the countdown to Armageddon looms closer and closer, Garlic and his comrades must use the power of magic to defeat even the most impossible of foes, including a living puppet, devilish fashionistas, a candy-obsessed religious fanatic, a rival team of celebrity superheroes who want Garlic’s head, cute and deadly monster girls, and more vampires than you can shake a stick at!
Cute designs, cyborgs are also rad. Especially love not taking a typical action approach and more toned down and realistic
Always appreciate when someone can be unabashedly stupid with hero concepts. Some people can take the hobby way too seriously.
Horg is the pig. He's a construction worker.
Cub is a safety technician. He's the sluggy fellow.
Nyft is a psychic alien. It doesn't have a job currently? Maybe a therapist.
Snip is a miner.
noice, please try to make this a series in adult swim
Zaahir, one of the main characters in a future story called Light of the Sun. Him and his race live in an ancient desert village abandoned by whatever lived there before. Old relics of this past civilization are scattered about. These guys love to rummage through the sand and collect the relics, keeping them as trophies. Zaahir's a huge weenie, always following his older friend like a lost puppy on stupid adventures that never bear any fruit. He's normally pretty depressing, but he's smiling for you guys.
so, uh i have a few original characters for something i've been planning since i was 17 (im 19 right now)
i would like to post them here someday but i can't think of a good way to protect them from someone stealing their designs or their story
would making a tumblr or putting them first on some kind of site where only i can enter be enough to prove that i created them?
Also Adelia, the overbearing, belligerent big sister type to Zaahir. She relies on Zaahir cause he's her only friend. That means she has to reel it in sometimes if she wants to keep him around. I always describe her as a schoolyard bully that also is your best friend.
Kinda old image and not as good as Zaahir up there, but it's the best image to get across her personality.
his name is Issac and he's gonna rule the world after he's done making waifubots that are built to fill his fetish of getting beaten the shit out of, teased and otherwise dominated.
Super cute design! I was inspired to draw a picture of him looking more like a worrywart.
I actually don't know if I can, I think I'd get blacklisted, haha. Or at least get into some shit with the publisher.
These are so fucking cute.
Shit's hard, man. It takes years sometimes. I get sad thinking about how long it'll be before I can commit to original stuff.
These are goofy as fuck and I love them. I really like them, actually, I hope you do something neat with 'em one day.
I remember when this was a WIP! Still great. I love the look the third critter is giving the last guy.
I'd recommend keeping a blog or portfolio just to keep shit in a backlog in general, but it's also a good idea if you're that afraid of losing your characters or story ideas. I don't think anyone in these threads is a dipshit enough to steal anyone else's shit. Maybe I am too trusting, though.
Don't worry about that, i'm not the editor.
But are there any specific reasons for not being allowed to share that kind of info? Either way, no problem. I don't want to get you into trouble.
I mean, I'm just guessing actually. The comic won't be published for another month so posting the full inks would be iffy, especially since it could be recognized, then someone could notify the people that hired me, and, uh, it's probably unsavory to get pages posted on 4chan. Thanks though! One day I'll get people's characters on a page, maybe in my own things.
Well here it is. The important thing is i tried my best and I had fun making it.
I took some liberties with the hair to fit it to shape, hope that's okay. If you can wait a month or two for my digitizer to arrive you might see it coloured too!
I could do one more if anyone wants, I've got an hour to spare.
I'm glad you like it! I tried to clean it up a bit in photoshop.
We had a good run lads, let's hope the next donut steel thread will be as successful.
See you all next thread.
Bumping this Thread with an OC of mine
The Twi'lek is name Tara
The Human is name Sol
Tried experimenting with lineless art and simple shapes for these dudes and dudettes.
I'm giving this a shot!
Can anyone draw one of my OCs Calliope, comedically threatening to eat Kaa the snake?
Since her favorite food is snakes and nagas
Don't really have a backstory for her but I like drawing her alot
I'm also gonna try to draw some of yall guys' characters
Try and draw Kamiko here? Her hair goes down to her ankles. She's also flat chested
I don't really have a good name or any direction for what I want with these characters, but I kinda wanted to make an action cartoon.
The general idea is that the guy finds out that he is a robot, I don't know why. Then the girl finds out too and the only way to use his abilities is to be piloted. Kinda like human mechs or some shit.
I have a bunch of other ocs but I'm not too good at choosing colors
Thats some nice stuff. And yeah, choosing colors can be annoying.
Also i found this drawing from that thread i mentioned, some anon drew both of our characters for some joke shipping challenge.
I hope you don't mind that i posted this.
We still have almost 200 posts until the thread hits the limit (assuming that the thread doesn't die before that), so the thread is mostly safe for now.
I like the idea of making a new one (assuming that there will be people in the mood for that), though.
Yeah let's make another thread i want to show a character with different transformations to see if people like it but i want to color it first and im still deciding what colors im going to use for each form
that looks cool i would name them after common mechanical engineering terms to imply how they work together as one
i have a few ideas for names but i don't know if you would like to hear them
So I've come up with this concept for a character. He's a genetically and cybernetically enhanced super soldier. One of either 1000 or 10000 created when an alien god known as the Emissary came to Earth warning of a great evil and offered to help by enhancing people, turning them into super powered fighting machines.
He's got mostly undefined space-related powers, enhanced strength agility and durability, and an artificially intelligent super computer implanted into his brain. Exactly like all the others. The super computer serves two functions: to feed the subject with whatever information they may need and to act as someone the subject can communicate with while on long-range solo ops in the deep reaches of space.
The big twist comes when it's revealed that the Emissary is actually antagonistic and is using humanity to pave the way for more of its kind.
Two dumb babies engaging in dumb baby romance that only dumb babies like me will find remotely cute.
Also made a short little loop-able tune and wrote a paragraph story-thing to go along with this, but...I'll just post the picture, for now.
the moral of the story here kids is that im a shit
My demon lady being summoned. The arms are supposed to be kind of hard light magic.
I just made my first Shadow Kingdom mini comic, what do you guys think?
A Kitsune character with a bullied past for being an animal-kin. Hides her animalness to be more accepted in society. Dreams of becoming popular and noticed to be accepted by the people of her world. Probably going to make her more pop-star-y or something. But for now, some casual clothes.
Pretty interesting, what story are you trying to make?
Their lower lips are kind of creeping me out, otherwise good stuff. This >>79174377 is the best of them
I'm a dumb baby too. Can I have access to the dumb baby only exclusive content?
Do you just use A4 sheets for your sketching? You should get a sketchbook my friend, I've gotten one recently and I just can't go back to plain sheets anymore.
There you are, OP.
This is the Jester, a golem-like construct used as a bodyguard and servant by an average magician and wannabe-artist.
Damn that's cute, might draw it but I already drew some furry trash that's a little too similar.
A few sketches of scientists, combined in one piece.
What material is his face supposed to even be? Your art is beyond crude, it's just poor at representing what I'm supposed to be looking at. I can't figure out what his head is supposed to be. Fix it.
This is my OC Hayate. Owner of a coffeeshop who could still kick ass.
Settled on a look for the generic soldier in my thing.
First concept was a black-white construct made of scraps and rags.
Body made of red clay, pieces of black drapes and a brass piece as headgear.
How should I fix it?
You got any suggestions?
I don't know if you're still here, but I would like to hear some names!
Best way to do that is to use Google images. You search whatever you want to draw so you know what it looks like. You can even search for very specific stuff like 'clay sculpture' or 'clay mask' and you'll almost certainly find something like you had in your mind.
I am openly accusing you of stealing my arts you art stealer.
