New trailer during Superb Owl I guess.
Best MCU Superb Owl trailer hands down.
this looks like it needs to wider and have more stuff going on in the background besides hero pose civil wars are the most destructive and devastating of all wars and I'm not getting that feel from this poster
Funny how all the suicide squad posters were released yesterday and looked unique/interesting, then you get some generic shit like this for civil war. Why doesn't marvel ever do something creative for posters instead of hiring graphic design students?
Don't they usually get Mondo to do limited run posters? Their default posters are always the most generic shit imaginable, but they usually have some actually good posters on the side that you can special order.
Would have worked better with Cyrax on the right but you get the idea.
>implying anyone gives a fuck about the background fights
>lol human vs lol human
>retard pose vs retard pose
>token nigga vs token nigga
Disney's Marvel's Captain America: Civil War: The Movie: The Game when?
After the Suicide Squad posters Marvel should really up their game. This looks awful.
Anyway, at least ScarJo looks hot again.
Word of mouth advertising is better. If they choose not to show him before the movie, people will lose their shit in the theater and tell all their friends, which means more sales. People trust their friends over TV.
Sometimes international posters are pretty cool.
Eh, it's fine, all he needs is his face for inside the helmet shots, that they can keep embalming him in make-up forever for, it's not like the manlet needs to show any physicality at all.
But the only people who know that Spider-Man are in CW are people who follow the MCU very closely. The average person doesn't know that Spider-Man is in CW. Have you actually gone and spoke to people about the upcoming movies?, a lot of them didn't know Spider-Man was in CW until I told them.
Spider-Man is regarded as one of the big 3 (along with Superman and Batman), and to miss out on a lot of potential income for reasons of hype is silly. There might be a section of people who love Spider-Man but aren't fans of Captain America/Avengers [The movies IS titled Captain America which might put off some people since it isn't an Avengers movie], and so it would be a good idea to excite those people.
Look at Star Wars, people knew Luke Skywalker was going to be in the new one since he was teased in the trailers. Look at Age of Ultron, people knew Vision was going to be in it as he was teased in the trailers.
If Spider-Man does not appear in any trailers, you can screencap this post and laugh at me for eternity.
Was about to say that, also, if Steve wasn't just posing still in the first one.
One poster should be Cap protecting himself with an attacking Iron Man reflected on the shield and the other should be Iron Man chargim up his hand beams with an attacking Cap reflected on his faceplate.
IT'S NOT THAT HARD, MARVEL
>That bleeding edge
>That panther pose
>good ole daddyhawk's suit growin on me
>2016 not being team cap
Do you think this movie will change things in MCU?
I am thinking about marathoning all MCU movies. Especially fitting since I never watched Incredible Hulk.
Do they have like extended cuts?
>But the only people who know that Spider-Man are in CW are people who follow the MCU very closely.
Right. Which is why, when, as I said, people see him in the theater and lose their shit, proceeding to tell all their friends. Those friends go see the movie after, leading to increased sales.
I know these are really tough concepts to follow, but I assure you, this isn't brain surgery, anon. Read my statement again. I know you're a bit slow. It might make sense on the second or third reread.
Mondo is just the name of the gallery, your pic is by Tyler Stout.. bit of a one trick pony.
Matt Ferguson does a lot of posters/prints for Marvel and can do more than just one style.
They said in one of their numerous interviews that Vision's role in the comics would be mirroed in the movie, and Vision's role in the comics was to disable Iron Man's armor so Cap could fight him hand-to-hand.
Continuing on that note, Mondo's prints you can't "special order" they go online on set dates (you have to follow them on twitter to find out at what time) and even then their shit sells out in seconds.
Source: me, I own two prints bought from Mondo one of which is pic related
But why wait when you can do it before the movie airs? If word of mouth spreads of Spidey appearing, then wouldn't it make sense to "infect" the hype among a bigger initial group? By waiting until the movie, you are only spreading from the people who have seen the movie, whereas if you were infecting people from a trailer, then you are infecting everyone who has watched the trailer AND THEN the time up and including the movie release. So therefore you spread the hype amongst a larger group of individuals.
If those people are just merely swung by the mention of Spidey appearing in CW, then you can just show in the trailers. This movie is already packed to the brim with heroes. Most people who are going to watch CW were going to watch it regardless of Spidey appearing, showing Spidey is going to be the icing on the cake that will entice people.
And please don't type like a condescending piece of shit. It's unneeded.
If you say so, anon. Lots of people are right beside you on that.
>When was the last time we get good final poster from Marvel anyway?
The Antman one was nice.
The Chinese one, at least.
Heh, that reminds me of that news channel our trams have in my town and they had an article about super hero movies coming out this year and one mentioned a new Spider-Man movie coming out this year. I actually had to stiffle a laugh because Civil War wasn't mentioned at all (we also don't call the movies Captain America here but "The First Avenger")
pity they work so hard for a market where their films will sell whatever the fuck they do and then they ignore the rest of the world where their movies might not be watched by most.
>so triggered by /sp/ not saying that shit like a non autist i can't shitpost while I watch football even though I love shitposting while I watch baseball
I guess I was the autist all along
Can someone tell me why Bucky isn't shit? I mean, he has a sweet robot arm and knows the basics of CQC but... is that it? Is he even on a level with Cap in terms of physical ability? VS African magic Batman as well, surely he is smalltime as fuck.
I thought the usual over-crowded poster they always did is for international market?
>Same thing would happen in a trailer.
So, let me get this straight. Your logic is as follows:
>We're going to keep a scene in a movie as a surprise
>SHOW IT IN THE TRAILER
>That way, everyone is shocked and surprised when it happens in the movie!
Not even the guy, but
>“Vision is a captivating character, and he does play a critical role in the Civil War. The comic fans might be able to guess what he is going to do.”
Calm down, Nancy.
Yes. He kept pace for a while but in the end got the shit kicked out of him. His advantages were
>Sweet robot arm
>Cap not really going for it
>Bucky murderous Manchurian candidate mindset/ not holding back
Being a knock-off, inferior serum Cap with an arm rather than a shield is not that great. Cap has a shield and both arms.
You're implying that you know for a fact that they are keeping the Spidey reveal scene a secret.
And actually yes showing him in a trailer would cause suprise and hype amongst people. Leading to the spread of word-of-mouth as you originally mentioned.
>You're implying that you know for a fact that they are keeping the Spidey reveal scene a secret.
>Reading is hard
I'm saying, I understand why they would not reveal him, if they choose not to.
> people think BVS looks better than this
> can't even make a good reason for 2 characters to fight each other, let alone 10
That's fanart, isn't it?
Wish they'd use pic related for final one.
you seem to be a moron. opinion disregarded. He presented as a threat on equal grounds as cap. Just as fast and just as strong. Pay attention next time dumbass
Sorry that you can't see the central difference being one of mindset. Now he's not programmed for pain, he will just be shit or else powered by angst instead. Edgy faggot famalam
It started off as such but went viral and got licensed with Marvel and a limited print run, dude now does the artwork for Marvel's Limited Edition blurays.
Who gives a fuck how he is programmed? He retains all his skills that made him the best assassin, all his training and he is just as strong and fast as cap to the point that he can go one on one with him for an extended period of time. Even giving him a run for his money. So again
Pls continue to ignore every point made like an autist. If cap is on panther's lvl than so is the winter soldier just from a skills, combat feats, and strength standpoint. Moron
>he will be shit
>an MCU movie that understands tone
How now, that shouldn't be. Why aren't they lolquipping and yukking it up while CGI buildings fall and alien robot armies jump around? Why is Cap so serious about the shit that he lives and is willing to die for, why aren't human lives and the fate of the world handled like a big cartoon?
You are aware his mindset in this movie is basic survival right? Like...ppl want to take him and possibly kill him. He is at his most dangerous mindset in this film.
It's like /co/ is full of children who can't into basic plot.
I guess you are aware of Nig Panther's mindset as well? Lel
>Huge multi-movie arc.
>IM1: Builds a weapon, is shocked his technology hurts people, builds a better weapon to overcome it.
>IM2: Builds a weapon, is shocked his technology hurts people, builds a better weapon to overcome it.
>IM3: Builds a weapon, is shocked his technology hurts people, builds a better weapon to overcome it.
>AoU: Builds a weapon, is shocked his technology hurts people, builds a better weapon to overcome it.
Ahh ok I understand now. I see your problem often from those who migrate from either reddit or tumblr. Let me explain something to you. There is no mindset for these characters seeing as they are fictional. You seem to have forgotten that this was a scripted movie. Why will bucky not be shit? Simple. The Russos has presented the character as a badass fighter. They will not suddenly stop that in the next film. It would not make sense seeing as how this an action movie and the audience will expect bucky to be just as "actiony" as he was in the last movie. Action comes first in these types of films and this particular character will be presented as just as much of a badass as he was in the last one (just with more angst). So yes, he will fight and keep up with black panther. Try to not blend reality with script next time ok? Character mindsets are irrelevant.
He has no character arc. Everything he's learned is instantly discarded the following movie where he relearns it and the cycle is repeated? How many times has he learned of the dangers of his technology before making better technology that then hurts people and repeats the cycle? He retires at the end of Iron Man 3 and blows up the Iron Legion and turns around and shows up active with drones in AoU. Hell, In just AoU he learns the fallacy of playing God and making an AI robot only do repeat it again IN THE SAME MOVIE with Vision.
dc promo art btfo marvel today
>IM3: Builds a weapon, is shocked his technology hurts people, destroys all his weapons and swears off weaponmaking
>AoU: Has built triple the weapons he destroyed since last time, builds a super weapon, is shocked his technology hurts people, builds a better weapon to overcome it.
It's even worse, honestly.
Seriously, why do the main Marvel posters suck so hard? The main WS poster was fucking embarrassing, meanwhile they have retro posters that are "cast and crew only" and better posters that are hardly ever used
This one didn't look so bad compared to their latest posters.
This. It's the only reason I have any hype for CW is that based on WS the Russos seem to know how to create a tonally even movie with a little bit of gravitas rather than a yukfest. I'm all for a bit of levity, but AoU was just all over the place
>but AoU was just all over the place
I have a feeling that was less Whedon's fault and more the fact that the Marvel Creative Committee was fighting him on this stuff. Likely also the reason why he quit working with Marvel.
I'm really conflicted about this movie. I find the FOX movies generally good but very forgettable for some reason. It's too many similar and pointless scenes throughout each movie or something, and they are always promising something for Bryan Singer to ignore. It's the third movie about Jennifer Lawrence and beast who isn't beast most of the time, and Prof X still has hair and had legs even after he got shot in the back. It's always two step forwards and one step back with them.
But i fucking love Oscar Isaac.
It was Whedon not being able to control this thing. Oftentimes the actors have remarked that he tried to rewrite a lot on set and that he got to improvise but not the actors. Also he was just way in over his head writing AND directing such a movie. He keeps trying to complicate things and trying to come off as intellectual, but failing miserably. For example, I cringed a bit whenever Banner was listening to Opera in the quinjet. It doesn't seem at all like something Banner would listen to, but something Whedon would.
Basically whenever the committee barked he sulked and didn't try to go around it and problem solve it. So it's not entirely his fault, but he couldn't take the heat alone. Also two of his cast were pregnant/having a kid, so that threw a wrench in the works a lot. Thank god both the committee and him are gone.
I still think he should've written but not directed the movie.
I'm hoping they'll keep doing these for each phase.
I love how, despite RDJ's ego, ironman appears with his helmet on in a group poster for once
>Clark believes Batman is a brutal headhunter who acts as if he is above the law, and knows that he goes around breaking bones and branding people with no regard to due process
>All Bruce knows for sure is that Superman is an extremely powerful alien whose revelation to the world coincided with an alien invasion and major damage to America's greatest city
>Superman wants to put a stop to a seemingly insane and violent vigilante
>Batman, spurred on by a desire to leave a legacy for himself after twenty years of fruitless crimefighting, as well as what can only be PTSD-induced nightmares of a world ruled by Superman, wants to preemptively eliminate Superman for the good of humanity
>Lex Luthor is likely manipulating both parties in an attempt to force a conflict between the two and remove the threat that Superman poses to his power and public image
Tell me, how does it feel to be so utterly, hilariously wrong?
Perhaps the message to take away here is that people's opinions are not monolithic and must be sampled individually?
Of course not, what am I saying. We're on 4chan. It either is or isn't objectively bad.
>Prof X still has hair and had legs even after he got shot in the back
He's going to be in the wheelchair and go bald. But what I'm pissed about is how Mystique still seems to be the focus of the X-Men, even though they introduced the new guys. Jean, Scott, Angel, Storm, Nightcrawler, and Jubilee barely got ANY focus in the trailer. And they're back to the ugly black leather costumes, which pisses me off too.
I agree with this. Only edgy, "look at how intellectual I am," people will say a predictable movie is shit. Just because you can guess what happens or guess who dies or whatever, that doesn't matter. Congratulations on reading context clues and guessing like every other human being.
It's all about the delivery of the movie and the story taking you through it. It doesn't matter what you know or think you know, it's all in the delivery.
For example, thanks to /co/, I accidentally learned the Star Wars spoiler before the movie even came out. Even though I knew the spoiler when I watched it, the delivery was so great that I didn't even care. The emotions and delivery tied to it were so great that I still felt hurt by the moment even though I knew it would happen. I was still emotionally hooked and hooked on the whole story in general as well.
They're really just going by popularity of the character. Wolverine was always the movie fan favorite, so he's always been the focus. Thus Cyclops getting cucked and looking like an asshole all the time while Wolvy takes main stage.
Now that there's no Wolverine, the fan favorite is J-Law... because she's J-Law.
But I'm really hoping Mystique really isn't the focus in this movie. She was kind of in the others slightly, but this movie seems really geared towards the young X-men team. They just put Mystique in it to get more people to watch it.
Are you me? I had that bit spoiled for me about a week before I went to see it on opening day.
I knew it was coming, and I could even tell when it was coming about 10 minutes before it actually happened.
Yet despite that, my pulse was pounding the whole time, as if I had never heard a word about it.
Superman and Batman have had a dozen fights and countless first encounter stories. Anybody who is even remotely familiar with their histories has a pretty good idea of what is going to take place and how. As you said, it's all about delivery. In this case, it pretty much has to be like that out of necessity. And there's nothing wrong with that.
Compare everything that guy just outlined with
>Tony: guilt-induced desire for greater accountability
>Steve: ideals which would cause him to disagree with government oversight, as well as a desire to protect his friend at any cost, even if it means clashing with legal authority
What exactly is the same here?
At least post it if you're going to be a jackass
I don't get what the problem is with this. It doesn't sound TOO out of character for a Rorschach that hasn't gone crazy yet. Far more out of character was him showing interest in that woman at the diner
Is this what you people do now? Make things up?
I don't know if you've heard, but Batman isn't exactly the most stable guy around.
This is the guy whose comic counterpart devised contingencies for incapacitating or killing his close friends, simply because their existed the possibility that they could be mind controlled or otherwise manipulated against their wills.
This sort of thing is perfectly in character for him.
It actually seems like the exact same kind of shit writing that makes Batgod seem so insufferable in team books. He stops being a brooding hero who is all about stopping maniacs and criminals, and becomes preptime-man with his Kryptionite rings and his miniature-red-sun gauntlets, and his lead lined boxes of how he'll take down each JL member, and maybe it's meant to show him as a guy who can compete with gods by his mind alone, but mostly it just makes him look like a paranoid, insecure jackass.
> stupid fucking writing is acceptable because a character was written badly over the course of a fucking half century
not to mention that is LUTHORS character
snyder was tasked with doling out a proper reason for two media giants to fight, and couldn't muster up more than "he had a bad dweam"
