When people take it seriously, it's funny as hell.
>That video of the Southern Baptist Preacher saying that Gravity Falls was recruiting children to support the Illuminati and worship Satan because Stan had a Fez, and pic related was the bad guy Apparently they played it in the Gravity Falls Production Unit, and they consider it the greatest thing they've ever received.
The current trend in animation is homages to pop culture, as the people making cartoons today grew up in the 90's when cartoons were just starting to do that. Now more than ever, content creators are not only aware of their audience, they have the ability to engage that audience thanks to the internet. This is what makes shows like Gravity Falls and Steven Universe popular. There's a kind of connection between the viewers and the creators that just wasn't there 5-10 years ago. Example being >>79080710 The team KNOWS what they're doing. They're aware of what will make conspiracy theorists' heads spin thanks to the internet. Then, they find out about the person who inevitably did fall for it, presumably because of the internet. Then WE, the viewers, find out about that, and can appreciate the show and the people behind it more, thanks to the internet. It rarely adds to the story or plot, but it does serve to get a laugh and make the show memorable. "Hey remember that Illuminati reference? I almost spit my drink lol"
Illuminati symbolism is part of pop culture. Gravity Falls just takes it to a whole new level because that show is about urban legends and pop culture (and because Alex Hirsch is a god-tier troll, and I imagine the rest of the storyboarders/writers are too).
TL;DR Artists are nerds and trolls, Illuminati symbolism is them having fun and connecting with an audience in a way that ironically humanizes them.
Wouldn't a single world government be a good thing?
A unified currency would make trading easier and strengthen basically everyone's economy, there'd be faster disaster relief, much less red tape to work through with borders and international law, war would effectively end world wide, lifesaving technology and medicine could be easily distributed to those who need it and scientific research would flourish as the greatest minds of the world joined together.
>>79083407 yeah because the EU is working fantastically right? and the US doesnt struggle at all holding such a huge area, both in terms of land and diverse population, under a single government without the majority feeling unrepresented. I'm sure there would be MUCH less red tape in this redtopia of yours.
>>79080560 Don't believe me, but my dad's a Freemason and the shit they get away with isn't anything compared to anime like FMA or FateStay night. It's not even really for subliminal bullshit like most people think, it's more like waving it in modern Americans faces like "hey, hey look hey lol it's right here? Ya see? It's funny how dumb you are". Not even spooky scary stuff but it's actually really funny seeing how people people are like "stupid conspiracies" or like this fucker right here >>79080945 where I'm just like WAKE ME UP
>>79081641 >new world order in Latin under it It's hilarious >>79082310 Are you fucking stupid? We've been living in the New World order since Manifest Destiny. The USA is a cooperate company literally, are you fucking stupid? >>79083528 Be rich and join Bohemian Grove >>79083540 Absolutely nothing, it's stupid bullshit. Western media doesn't do symbolism right. The least the could do is make a story out of it like fullmetal alchemist.
>>79083908 >>79084182 So are us poor folk like one giant episode of Family Guy to them? Why not use all that money to make us fucking robot mech suits to fight each other with, that shit sounds fun as fuck to do AND watch!
>>79084524 Pretty much. Their just a club that goes back hundreds of years thats misunderstood because of their "secret hand shakes" and the like. The masons are no more better or worse then some organization like the boy scouts.
>>79084672 this fag doesn't know what he's talking about >>79084524 People in the higher degrees (Master Masons) do tons of important shit and usually get into/make feels with the illuminati. Take Walt Disney for example, he got in and worked his way up until he hit level 33, hence club 33's name >>79084628 They think of you like the Simpsons, simple sheople who follow the heard. That's why they put so much warnings/symbolism in family guy and Simpsons, they know you're like the people who watch it and won't give a shit if you do see it. They spend their money on gay parties and celebrities to have sex with them, not mech shit.
>>79085381 Well considering I live on the opposite end of the continent, have a shit job that makes about 20k a year, and had literally no interest in anything Illuminati until stumbling into a random 4chan thread, no I haven't seen what they did at this Bohemian Grove.
I realize that this is just shitposting but the Illuminati hasn't existed since the end of the 18th century and their goals at the time were sensible. Also, the eye of providence isn't actually an Illuminati symbol, just a generic "eye of God" stand in.
>>79085474 >Illuminati hasn't existed since the end of the 18th century and their goals at the time were... Stopped reading there, You're a stupid ignorant cuck I really want to fuck the triangle though >>79085459 You're in for a treat, you have to push through Alex's bullshit but by the end of it it's just exposing their gay frat party, it's priceless
I remember being in middle school and playing a game I created called "google illuminati". I did "illuminati toilet paper" and found a forum where people where saying "how can the illuminati be so cruel as to give us cheap, easily rippable toilet paper? I always get some stuck in my butt and I have to pull it out."
Unfortunately, montage parodies and the "illuminati confirmed" meme took over and all the search results are filled with cancerous meme garbage.
>People who still believe in Illuminati bullshit >People who still believe in Chemtrails bullshit >People who still believe that the world is flat and my favorite >People who believe vaccines are evil and shouldn't give them to their kids and yet see nothing wrong with circumcising their kids
>>79090710 I mean if you wanted to get technical, 90% of American television channels fall under 6 major networks, all of them have Jews running them But I digress, I'm talking about people who defy facts because they can't let go of stupid conspiracies
>>79084524 My grandfather made it to some degree in the high 20s and as far as I know he was just an accountant for a commercial scale pork farm who liked to ride motorcycles on the weekend. If he was doing anything clandestine and subversive, it sure didn't seem to bring him much wealth.
>>79090841 Yeah and the mock ceremonies add a touch of zazz to the whole affair, who doesn't like to give tribute to an ancient God in between team building activities and barbecue?
And to OP I think it's a joke between artists who work on the shows (creative people will be more likely to notice things like that and use it) but eventually when this generation of kids grow up some will be curious enough to research into why the funny triangle showed up in all of their programming and music videos, like some of us did- it's been going on for awhile. We'll see what happens, might be even more of a joke in the future, might not.
Basically all the closest things in the real world to the stupid as fuck conspiracy theories are just superrich families and friends hanging out at sometimes absolutely retarded and cringey events with stupid rituals. See Skull and Crossbones. The sad thing is it amounts to the same thing, a relatively small group of people do sort of control the world through political/family/money ties (as much as "the world" can really be "controlled"), but it's not remotely a secret. There's no need for a conspiracy. What baffles me is how people waste time with conspiracy shit when we all know the big family dynasties and money (therefore power) holders and shit already, you know who's in charge, everybody does.
>>79080560 Makes me chuckle thinking how a little thought form is trying so hard to exist physically to be honest friend.
However, there is a little level of concern, because eventually there will a point in time if there is continued exposure when the thought form finally figures out how to actually be, without humans.
Egregores and Ancient Memes man, its fucked up in the end, even if you are being trendy or making a joke.
For a popular example nowadays, its similar to Donald Trump. There are people who support Donald Trump, and do so with intense faith. They believe in him very much. There are people who hate Donald Trump, however give him lots of exposure, which actually empowers him greater and his group of believers. Even when you do it in joke, any moment you actually bring up the name, you are empowering the Meme, and The Idea of Donald Trump. Parody, Joke, Trend, Topic, Negative Talk, Positive Talk, Faith, this all empowers an Idea, even if its not your purpose to have done so.
Therefore, its worrisome, because of the extra exposure, empowering something that is meant to be laughed at, and locked away in a realm of dreams.
