Dude, I am absolutely stupefied by the trailer for this movie. Who made a conscious effort to make the laziest movie of all time? The animation is laughable, they use stock sound effects out the ass, and the trailer covers the whole film.

I can't understand how anyone would want to put their name on this, or any money whatsoever.

>Who made a conscious effort to make the laziest movie of all time?

Usually not how it happens. People go in wanting to make at least a decent movie for their paycheck, because everyone realizes that not every project they work on to pay their bills is going to be a blockbuster/critically acclaimed.

However, even the most loved movies have their fair share of hurdles and issues during production. Sometimes, the movie manages to salvage it and be good. Very often (usually more often), the issues make the movie a wreck and people just do what they can to polish the turd in the hopes that it makes enough money that they can still hope to be hired for another project.

Yeah, but it's pretty blatant there's no actual CREATIVITY going on in this.

Like, A New Hope was an absolute travesty to create and had constant issues, but won over crowds in the end because it was daring to be different and CREATE something.

But better place the bets on the talking animals in situations you wouldn't normally find them in.

>Like, A New Hope was an absolute travesty to create and had constant issues, but won over crowds in the end because it was daring to be different and CREATE something.

And sometimes creative/different movies fail.

There a a shitload of sci-fi movies with premises more original than Star Wars that were box office flops because they faced all the same stumbling blocks as Star Wars, but failed rather than overcame them. Shitty special effects, horrible writing, poorly edited, lack of budget/blown budget, poorly shot, etc.

Daring and creative? Sure, when they started out. But when all is said and done, they're just normal.

Kind of like people with jobs. How many people end up working their dream job? We all start off wanting more, but then life happens and at a certain point, many people just make compromises and take what they can decently get.

Just saying that just because a movie sucks, it doesn't mean they intentionally made it that sucky. Just that the movie process can take the best of intentions and make them meh.

And to go back to Star Wars, it's often said that it was saved in editing- well after the movie had been shot and lots of people working on it had blown it off as a potential flop.

I think that in a lot of cases like this, there's also the fact that Hollywood movies are motivated by what executives perceive as market demands. The first script might have been excellent, but films like this will generally go through 4 or 5 rewrites by different writing teams each working to the studios often contradictory specifications, and we all know what happens when there are too many cooks.

What I'm saying is places like tumblr have created this idea that anyone and everyone can do whatever they want because if they're told they can't or someone has a mature discussion with them about why their thoughts are wrong, they immediately decide to pull the race card.
It just confuses me because one side is practically screaming

and it's how they're teaching us to think in college courses. Especially *shudder* Sociology classes. They completely ignore the other side of the issues. I had an art professor who literally just spent the first two weeks of classes talking about how the United States of America has been stealing stuff from other cultures, but she never talked shit about Africa, Asia, India, etc.

The answer is to stop doing this. Stop caring about what other people are doing or why. If you think they're fucking up their lives, just let them. Live your own life and spend it doing what you want to do. If you don't want to date fat girls of a particular race, no-one is forcing you to. There is no thought police, you can still think whatever you like, and there's no real benefit to saying what you think out loud except if you really like getting mad and having other people mad at you. Which I suppose given where we are, you might.

It was an idea someone had, though a little generic, and instead of fine-tuning it, someone saw the 'marketability' and that got the ball rolling. Now they didn't care about being entertaining, just making a product that could bring in more money than it cost to make. That's most bad kids movies. If only they realized in many to most cases, quality content brings in more money than the lowest common denominator.

Hating or judging fat people for being fat is "fat-phobic." Not wanting to date a fat chickis up to you.

>>
>>79053333
We don't, actually. Our stance is that skin color is an almost complete irrelevance outside of visual identification. But with so many things having been baked into multiple systems based on awarding people things and/or not penalizing them for their actions if they have correct ethnicity, that moving to level that out isn't met with "That's fair" but "THAT'S RACIST!" Treating people the same regardless of their race is now thought of as racist, and that propaganda has been drumbeaten so incessantly for so long people just nod and go along with "Yeah, they're obviously racist, everyone knows that." without even a second thought.

At one point they had a much more visually appealing movie. It wasn't great or Pixar level, but it was pretty good for a third party entry in the still early CGI movie market of 2002. Considering Finding Nemo had twice the budget, and the original Food Fight was roughly half the quality, it more or less checks out.

But then the whole thing got deleted somehow, and they had to start it all from scratch. Except the second time around they actually regressed from the original animation, and they released it 10 fucking years after it was still somewhat relevant.

Can confirm. I really thought they wasted Chester V, he was pretty much the best part of that heap of shit. He was interesting, funny, animated way better and more vividly than anyone else, and did basically nothing wrong. Yet the movie had to do a shit-ton of asspulls to make him the "bad guy" (Evil Corp? He doesn't appreciate Flint's bullshit inventions? He's not very nice to his pet ape?) just to make the movie's retarded "moral" seem less insane. I mean seriously, how is eating animals that resemble other foods somehow more wrong than butchering normal animals for meat? Or is everyone in this world a vegan or something? And after all this crap, they have the gall to kill him off, rather than just having him "lose" or learn something, because God knows a kid's movie isn't complete without a mustache-twirling villain you aren't allowed to agree with getting a good ol' Disney Death.
