Checked this series out. The art looked good and I thought the concept was interesting. I also assumed all of the backlash was /co/ overreacting.
Dear god, /co/ was right. It's honestly one of the worst books I've read in recent years.
I like Ms. Marvel and even Nu Batgirl, so I thought maybe this series would be at least fun. It's literally just on the nose political "commentary"that wouldn't be out of place on a 15 year old "activist's" blog. I know Marvel as always been about progressive politics, but this series doesn't even try. It's page after page of exaggerated feminist rants that the readers are actually expected to agree with. If I didn't know otherwise, I would've thought it was satire.
I only paid $6.50 for Vol. 1 from my LCS who was having a "Women of Marvel" sale, but I still ended up returning it for Black Widow Vol 1.
I actually really like her design. Shame the series sucks.
I use Tumblr for my art. It's pretty successful with that crowd. As much as I hate the "fake nerd girl" stereotype, I honestly feel like people buy this series not just because it panders to them, but also so they can feel like a "total NERD" who collects comics.

Is not me, I can't stand Samnee and I fucking HATE that they refuse to put a artist on a BW that will make her fucking sexy anymore, god damn pieces of shit!
>I like Ms. Marvel and even Nu Batgirl
Well those are the watershed titles, the creative teams behind them actual care and put in effort. Just about everything that followed, like Aaron's Thor, was trying to follow and just feels soulless
Didn't say I like it, but it think Wilson and the editor care about a story about a teenage Muslim girl in America. I think Wilson is a mediocre writer, but she seems very genuine
My only gripes about Nu-Batgirl is the costume. I mean come on would it have hurt them to make her look like this instead of having her dress like movie!Hit-Girl with her Batgirl mask put on?
Shame this costume was wasted.
IDK once you get past that early shit it was fine. I mean, yeah it's literally what people were saying but putting online complaints in the mouth of a character and then beating the shit out of them is low-rent as fuck
This would have been great and hilarious.
Just imagine his confrontation with Lady Loki.
The current comic look. Steph is too caught up in being a superhero to really go for the casual look.
Honestly this outfit from Batgirl #0 is my favorite and I'd love to see something similar on Cass.
Go awy, Max Landis. Shouldn't you be busy ruining Superman aka Man of Burning Limbs Off?
This, pretty much. That one scene was godawful horseshit, but the rest of that first run wasn't bad. The biggest problem with it was that it dragged the mystery on for too long at the expense of character depth.
With that mystery gimmick out of the way, the relaunched Thor is actually quite good. Jane is an actual character, and Loki is awesome in it.
The line is cringe enough without the font choice. Jesus Christ it's like, they didn't just have to slam you over the head with a sign that says SUBTLE, they had to tattoo the words GET IT? on your forehead.
Does anyone like volume 2 of Jane Thor by comparison to her first volume? I think it's better than the first
That honestly probably could have done the feminist talking points in an interesting way, provided the writer could actually write.
I mean, big, boisterous, stubborn Thor turned into a woman and still acting like big, boisterous, stubborn Thor would break gender roles without them having to hamfist it in everywhere.
It's shitting on white feminists
>lady Thor easily defeats all of her enemies but complains that they do not treat her well while fighting her
White Women's ease in access to education and jobs while pretending misogyny is keeping them out of these things
Shitting on the retardation of feminist solidarity that marginalizes women of color by claiming they need to care about minor issues as much as their serious ones
>she is better at hammer welding than male Thor and other characters like to talk about how she's better
Government's/institution's praise of women who very easily acheived because of their privilege but claim thay being a white woman is the most difficult situation in America
>Jane Foster's cancer gets wirse as long as Femthor exists
Actual women's issues languishing and getting worse like situations in Islamic states while catcalling and the wage gap are in the forefront
