This premieres in a half-hour. I know it skews younger than most cartoons /co/ likes, but I still think it has potential. I like how they're not completely discarding The Lion King 2, since Kovu, Nuka and Vitani were announced to be returning for an episode later on. I also like how the show doesn't pull any punches and actually talks about the carnivores eating the herbivores and things like that. I know that may not be much, but a lot of people were predicting a completely watered-down preschool cartoon.
this premieres in a half-hour? there are two episodes out already.
>I like how they're not completely discarding The Lion King 2
i wish they had either ignored it and just done an alternate sequel to the first movie, OR made TLK2 canon properly. right now the canon doesn't match. Kiara is totally out of character (she was totally unsure about her destiny as queen, but now since Kion is the underdog, she has to be the confident good-girl sister), where the fuck is the oh so legendary Lion Guard (lel) when the outcats lions attack in TLK2? Oh that's right, TLK 1 and 2 have made it very clear that little kids are not fit to fight serious battles.
The movie was, well, a movie. The other episode was online as a sneak-peek. TV is full of technicalities, and this is one of them. The episode about the hyena is labeled as the series premiere.
This is the new MLP
Directly aimed at pedophile furries
Gonna be a great success
>cartoon about animals
>must be a furryfag
>cartoon about kids
>must be pedo
>cartoon about magic and myths
>cartoon about adults
>muh Family Guyfag
Make up your fuckin mind!
That was entirely serviceable. The song went on a bit too long, but there weren't any truly cringeworthy moments like in the movie and sneak peek.
You tell me.
I can't believe they briefly showed something resembling a love triangle.
What does this even mean?
>The tone of the show is different as well, which is why the vocal performances are so important. “Tonally, it’s not really a cartoon,” says Ward. “It’s hard to convey when [a guest actor] comes in and isn’t in touch with that tonality. If they are from a more cartoony background, sometimes we need to make an adjustment. The show is not unfunny,” he adds. “It’s a humorous show, but keeping the tone of the show in balance is another challenge for us.”
It sounds like any other cartoon to me. Anyway, here is another excerpt from that thing.
>The series won’t shy away from the darker, sadder aspects of living in the Pride Lands. “We’ve been given great latitude to be challenging with the harder story issues,” explains Ward. “The whole overriding issue of the circle of life is very present in this series to a degree. It doesn’t pull any punches. It would be wrong to deny the series its DNA. It’s important to take the baton and carry it forward even though we’re sensitive to our young viewers. To do otherwise, I think, wouldn’t be an honest product.”
we need more of those two, and zuri of course
Please, the original movie was MLP and Sonic years before either of those things got big online. DA may not have been a thing back then but in the early internet you could find plenty of lion-sonas and lion versions of characters from other franchises.
>art has been produced
Thank god, for a second i thought this would fly under the radar.
Will there be more?
Yeah. How much more, though, I have no idea.
My reactions are to the first episode, as an old fag, this the closest thing to 90s animated show I have seen. Having songs in a show the way they had them felt nostalgic.
I think the lion king in general is overhyped and it's amazing Don Han is making it for all the dollars.
It should have been Kiara's kid instead of brother. But the recon of Kiara and emphasis on simba and kion makes this a boys show...and follows bad female tropes. I think the production is actually way better then I was expecting, and it has some interesting parts...I just wished it hadn't fucked with the story so much because of making relatable to little boys.
is not lewd unless you want it to be
Why do people consider Lion King 2 to be the one good Disney sequel?
She ran fast and left her friends behind so she took a bath while waiting for them. Of course, being a feline, she was just licking herself when they finally arrived.
When she learned that Jasiri fought the hyenas, she said that she liked her already.
I put it on the collection
HE ASKED FOR TROUBLE THE MOMENT HE CAME
>Male holding down a female
Hyenas don't work this way. Wheres the pack of females bullying this guy into getting an erection? Is this show even trying to explain animals to kids?
Good lord I became awfully slow, haven't drawn in a year or so.
Gonna finish it tomorrow.
Also give some love to that cheetah, she's a qt.
Hey, I like the cheetah. A lot of people hated on her back in November, but there was nothing with her design that bothered me. Apparently, she's an orphan. One of the books deals with that and all of the books are based on episodes, so chances are we'll get a Fuli episode at some point.
>At the end of the day, everyone in the Lion Guard is ready for family dinner - everyone except Fuli, who hunts all alone. Her friends are worried about her. Wouldn't she rather eat with the egrets, hippos, or lions? The Lion Guard is on a mission to find a new family for Fuli!
If I remember correctly, they didn't like her face. At least four posters said it looked too human or some other such thing. They also took umbrage with her fur patterns, saying it wasn't very cheetah like. You can read through the thread if you want.
I think you mean four. Kovu is getting a harem anon.
I don't know what inspired me to make this. It won't even be usable that often.
There a good bit of good if not off model non lewds.
HAS BROTHER EDDIE BEEN ALERTED?
>implying the chorus isn't the best part
you realize female hyenas have pseudo penises right? they are irl futas. why do you think woopy goldburg's character in the originals was the packleader and female? the lion kid would be the one getting fucked.
That's not how they work. The females don't penetrate anything. The pseudopenis retracts/goes limp when they mate with a male. Female spotted hyenas are just bigger and stronger than the males.
>This is the new MLP
I'm a little surprised by just how many people believe this phrase when it comes to anything they didn't like getting popular.
Etc. And now this. And yet, none of them have consistently made the news due to their fans or received their own dedicated board.
but the females DO in fact use their pseudopenis to rape the lesser maless/females into submission to stay as the alpha. they are also completly destroyed during the birthing process through the vaginal canal/pseudopenis. fuck nature is the original /d/
No, the females never penetrate other females or males. The higher ranking females physically bully lesser members. Rank is also somewhat hereditary. The daughter of a matriarch is more less going to be a matriarch too, but she can usurped.
So, I'm guessing the series will end with Kion leaving the Pride Lands?
It's the only way to explain him not being a part of LK2.
Which just make me wonder why they didn't just make him Kiara and Kovu's kid.
>So, I'm guessing the series will end with Kion leaving the Pride Lands?
He would have to, or at least he'd have to be out of the picture. The show already makes no sense within the continuity.
you'd think they couldn't fuck a honey badger
Nigga you know how that turns out already.
Kiara/Kovu/Tiifu/Vitani/Zuri is best ship.
Wish I could make a webm. Show has more action than I'd have expected.
lion cubs actually have different fur patterns than adults, helps them hide
Maybe puberty hit?
Jason Marsden voiced adult Kovu, and since he is a voice actor for lots of cartoons, I guess it was easier for them to just grab him instead of looking for a sound alike kid.
>Will Kiara see him?
I'm hoping it's one of those things where they are in the same area but never run into each other. Like Kion meets and talks to Kovu, but he leaves just as Kiara is approaching.
Seeing as in LK2 adult Kiara hadn't seen him since their first meeting, as "what are you doing?" is how she remembered him.
I suppose the best way to do it would be to have Kion go into the outlands. Sort of like this episode, but with all of his friends. It would make more sense, as I don't think the banished lions should just be strolling around the pridelands.
We don't know, but Kiara seems to be about the same age as her cub self in Lion King 2, and Vitani is voiced by her cub actress. It should be her cub form.
But we have no idea when her episode is airing. It could be months from now.
>I don't think the banished lions should just be strolling around the pridelands.
They seem to sneak in whenever they can.
Zira was there, probably trying to find food before running into Kovu and Kiara. Then Nuka and Vitani sneak in to start the fire.
Simba sucks at keeping an eye on his home, really.
can the honey badger be classified as the nigger child?
Wish this show was made for an older group of kids and was a little darker like Teen Titans. That would be a cool disney show
Is that still canon now that this show has come out?
Well, the deviantart crowd is now drawing art of the show. I guess it's better than no art at all.
I've seen the premiere and a normal episode, my eyes about rolled out of my head in a few spots. Mostly the tribal tattoos, cheetah not being exhausted after 7 seconds of sprinting, and a lion cub being able to tell at a glance a pack of hyenas was hunting because they're evil and not hungry.
The cheetah is always sitting down. She can't do shit without getting tired. The show does more accurate animal stuff than most. The crocodile episode was very well done. The good crocodile lost a fight to a young crocodile and was exiled. And instead of shitting on the "bad" crocodile, they talked about how he may grow into the role and be a good leader. Shit.
Did you even watch the hyena episode? The whole point is that it's just one jackass clan of hyenas that cause problems, and that most hyenas are important parts of the circle of life.
I don't give a fuck about exiles, but I've watched enough documentaries to know that many animals who lose out on dominance aren't just killed. They usually wonder off on their own.
I don't know why you fuckers are expecting National Geographic standards in a goddamn cartoon. The Lion King was never an accurate documentary. Giraffes aren't bowing down before lions last I checked. The point I was making is that this show isn't pulling any punches. It's not all happy and the good guys don't always win. Nature is shitty.
