"vidya that really should've just been an animated movie" thread.
the game was kind of just a load of bullshit, but the story was downright fascinating
>time traveling magic dolphin that fights 2spooky xenomorphs at the end
that game had a spider in it? man i really need to play that sometime
seriously, the fucking evolved future dolphins.. the time paradox of ecco rescuing the younger version of the entity that empowered him.. it was great
What you do is you get some friends together, get a whole bunch of beer, load up the playthrough on youtube and laugh and shout until you're hoarse
From the moment I saw the first trailer, I knew it should've been a film.
I bet I can guess exactly what disappointed you.
Every time I see an attempt at an MMO that tries to inject a lot of personality or story into their game I can't help by not just make a single player game, like Jak or Ratchet.
I don't think WS should have been a movie but it sure as shit shouldn't have done the MMO thing
They were going to make it an animated series for Adult Swim. Expiration Date would have been one of the episodes, but that one episode took so long to make that they cancelled it.
Could work as a finite series.
they could even have a thing where each episode Caim uses a different sword, and every couple of scenes we get a bit of the sword's backstory, which will be something related to the thematically connected to the events of the episode.
The story is fantastic but egad does the endless running across sparsely populated fields get dull.
For the other ending you could even have an Accord doing the same thing as in 3, but without the direct interference, and reveal that she was trying to track where the Grotequerie Queen went across timelines, ending it with a sneak peek of NieR's time
I don't expect it to be just the game, but the world has so much room to stretch it's limbs. Hope more lore comes into play for the sequel.
League is not that fun and the story is all over the place,
but id love to see some of the characters developed further, specially this fat fish.
Dota 2 would be pretty good to see since you have SFM
nahhh, it's one of like, 5 games in its whole genre. You have battlezone, sacrifice, herzog zwei, and if you really stretch it you could count pikmin and overlord.
someday someone will make an action rts game that isn't covered in jank. someday
Played the game and the world just didn't engage me. What made it so amazing? At a glance its just steampunk/dieselpunk dystopian bullshit but with whale oil instead of gasoline. And shitty magic.
The way the magic sorta intertwined with fate, the different ways people used the outsiders gifts, the society, the outsider and his myths, stuff like that.
I'm not clapping it on the back for being the best thing since sliced bread, but it just interested me enough to want to see something come of it.
I feel like the characters still fall kinda flat, some of them. I'd like to see that fixed in the movies.
Isn't there one in the works? It hope it follows through as a non-dissapointment.
I loved the art style in this game but I feel you on the lore issue. The Dishonored universe seems interesting, but it felt like the first game was like a shallow pond and not the massive ocean that it should've been. Shitty analogy I know.
The only issue I could see is that the movie would have to tread the fine line between the great divide of players; either murder-mode with complaints of morality/ending, or (mostly) pacifistic with a light ending but no action.
It'll be odd waters to tread, but I imagine their sailsare cut for the job.
I'm all about shitty literary devices.
I would love a World of Warcraft series that uses the in-game cutscene engine, since I know a CGI one is out of the question probably. Something basically follows some self inserts through the biggest events of the game, would make me so happy.
It's a series I *want* to get into, but the game just never clicks for me for some reason, even though I do like the look and feel of the world they make. An animated series feels like the best place for stories that revolve around world-shattering beings continuously fighting each other for both good and petty reasons.
Yes, I realize the first game was adapter, but I've heard either mixed or negative things about it...
Man, say what you will about CyberConnect2's pisspoor game design, but those fuckers know their presentation. Solatorobo practically begs for some kind of OVA spinoff for all of the work they've put into the Little Tail Bronx universe.
>Literally canceled because of Valve time.
>All the other characters are wacky stereotypes that fit the setting
>Mrs. Pauling speaks like a boring, normal woman from 2015 with an air of sarcasm
Should have made her skittish like those older comics.
>No ones mentoned Mario & Luigi
If not a full series at least some shorts. The games have the brothers at their most expressive and fun. A single season following the events of Superstar Saga would be a dream
How about vidya that should also be an animated movie?
>Michael Fassbender stars
I haven't played any of the games, since my toaster of a laptop heats up and shuts down whenever I try, but yeah I heard FassB stars in it so I'm kind of excited.
The game wasn't really memorable, maybe it could've turned into a cult classic if it were an animated film.
imagine this shit up on the big screen in 3D!
Honestly a lot of characters have gotten worse in the comics/cartoons
Really its more of focusing on only a couple of them so they get worn out quicker and also the setting becoming sillier and sillier around them so their wackiness is dialed up as well
I'd buy the hell out if an Alan Wake comic series. I think the metatextual themes would work better in an actual comic or prose novel instead of a more interactive medium like a video game.
>Just played the DLC for the first time 2 days ago
>I was high as a kite
>My fucking face when
>We will never get a 15 min slice of life Pyro episode
what's it like to go around and have a shit opinion like that in your head?
BL should have been a straightforward hack-and-slash, not a fucking hybrid RTS, and definitely not a fucking animated movie
