http://www.watchtheyard.com/list/90s-cartoon-characters-black-fraternity-sorority/ All of you 90s babies who are greek need to hold on to your seats because this is going to make you smile!
An artist named Ashleigh Sharmaine has put her pen to paper and reimagined what 90s cartoon characters would look like if they joined Black fraternities and sororities!
Click on the arrows below to see what your favorite cartoon characters from Recess, The Proud Family, Doug, Rugrats, Hey Arnold, The Weekenders, Justice League and more would look like as members of Divine 9 organizations!
>It is another 90's thing
When the 90's or 80's kids ever shut the fuck up about their decade.
>What exactly is the defining trait of a "black fraternity"?
They all wear orange jumpsuits that say "inmate" in the back.
They were fraternities started typically by the black members of universities years ago during the age of segregation. They do not restrict membership to blacks only, but other races especially whites typically do not apply. Since black men couldn't join other fraternities, they had to make their own.
Arnold and Gerald
>center your pop culture around not being "white"
this is almost literally because they weren't allowed to do white stuff back then, so of course things traditionally stayed that way.
>Gerald is Phi Beta Sigma
>Not a reppin' Omega Psi Phi
What a faggot.
Back when, exactly? 2010? 1990? Oh, wait, 1968. Not one millennialfag was alive during segregation, nor were they alive for the backlash of the civil rights act.
And even that's beside the point. It's still hypocritical, tribalism garbage. Trying to appeal to a black person BECAUSE they're black is just as intellectually bankrupt and racist as appealing to white people because of them being white.
The culture is already established and gets passed down, moron.
Parents wanting their kids to go to their Alma Mater is almost universal, no matter the race. Same with Fraternities.
Its not 'justifying it', because that IS a reason for some racists.
I'm just saying, you're acting like it was ages ago. Its only a few generations. You're talking about Grandparents, great grandparents.
I don't get this
Usually I get the clickbait of "imagine these cartoon character ALL GROWN UP" or "these disney princesses as crack whores".
But none of these characters look much older and they're all just sort of wearing frat clothing and that's it beyond being badly drawn.
This is on the same level as "YOUR FAVORITE 90S CARTOONS CHARACTERS... WEARING HOODIES".
This is Buzzfeed levels of retardedness.
>They even included Connie, because dark skin=black now.
Rolling Stone called Tamir Rice black because articles about Indians din't get as much traffic.
Was RS always so social justice heavy? It started out as just a music magazine.
