The great thing about Arthur and Mera isn't how they met or how their relationship started, it's the relationship itself. They trust each other so much and are completely loyal and supportive of one another; they're basically the ideal couple and seeing them together in action (be it fighting or ruling Atlantis or just spending the day on the couch) would be more interesting.
