If you're content with a greentext, then surely you can write it out yourself. It's not particularly hard, and it'll be exactly what you want to read.

Just have them find some mysterious mcguffin in the woods, bring it back to the Shack, Dipper accidentally uses it on himself, Mabel reads in the Journal that it's hypnosis, considers freeing him, but then decides against it for the rest of the day so they can "have fun together", since they already went out to the Woods which is what Dipper wanted, and then just write out the circumstances you'd like to see Dipper get in to.

Realistically speaking, aside from Genndy Tartakovsky, no cartoonist has ever had two actual hit cartoons both be successful.

Even in Tartakovsky's case, Dexter's Lab and Samurai Jack are anomalies in a stagnant sea of mediocrity when it comes to cartoons, and when something truly revolutionary like Sym-Bionic Titan hit, it fell to pieces even with him at the helm.

I love Hirsch. He's incredible. But after Gravity Falls, I'm not sure he's going to have something as potent. He's not Tartakovsky - no one is.

More than likely, Gravity Falls is Hirsch's magnum opus and anything he does after this will pale in comparison. I'll be surprised if he doesn't drop off the radar entirely.

Jhonen Vasquez, John K., and others who seem to go looking for new opportunities to "create" end up not doing anything or failing miserably at it. Craig Bartlett could've had another series after Hey Arnold with The Patakis and it never went anywhere.

You see all these people make these evolutionary shows that really show what is possible in the cartoon landscape, and really prove that "kids" cartoons can have depth, dynamic characters, and grand plots, and the creators fizzle out after they do it.

It's a rarity to see a creator come back and hit another home run that rivals their predecessor, and it's a scary thought that Hirsch could potentially become another Jhonen Vasquez or Craig Bartlett in the industry. Craig couldn't even get his Jungle Movie done after all he did for Nickelodeon.

It's a tough argument to make because it's not exactly factual. It's more based on the amount of influence the creator's show had at the time. Gravity Falls has had comparable influence, I think, to some of those early/late 90s shows and early 2000s shows that exploded Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon. But a lot of those creators faded after their explosion.

At the risk of being accused of more fallacies, I'll stop. But I hope at least some of you get that these people that make these huge industry changing shows don't, in most cases, make another. Or if they do, it doesn't truly compare.

I've believed this theory more and more since The Deep End. The photos they've taken throughout the summer is the evidence of what has happened. Everyone forgets due to some disaster or "sacrifice" and the cliffhanger moment at the end of the finale is them coming across the photos they took.
Gnomes, that snow photo, the clones of the band, Dipper kissing mermando, inside the spaceship, all of that. There's been an awful lot of photos taken. With the flow of cartoons, it's worth noting Dipper taking a picture inside the ship didn't get mentioned at all, and it's not usual for them to make a joke like that unless it comes back as something else, whether it's noted as a joke at some point, or plot related. Shows don't often have scenes like that just because it "felt real" or whatever, even though it'd be nice to have those.
