>“What if the pressure causes (the hero) to commit suicide,” suggests James Robinson, another Marvel writer, adding that it could be a good way to draw attention to the scourge of cyber-bullying.
>scourge of cyber-bullying.
oh god what the fuck.
thank god i don't buy marvel anymore, it has now officially become /tumblr/ shit, that constantly renumbers and has meaningless events every 6 months.
>Cyber-bullying? Back in my day, kids would fucking HIT me.
Bullies still hit other kids. They just then go on to get those kids expelled for cyberbullying when they vent about it on tumblr.
Bullies didn't pussify. They got STYLE.
I mean... this was a brainstorming session, so the point is kind of throwing as many ideas as possible in the mix and then pick up the right ones, so a lot of stupid shit is bound to come out...
But still... come on.
Like who? D-Man? He can't get 3G in the sewer. Robinson ought to be punched; cyber-bullying? Even if it wasn't the flavor of the month issue, there's no way they'd write it without coming off as contrived or insulting. Besides, it's not like they'd kill off an important character or actually keep them dead.
I know it's a brainstorming session, but Marvel is creatively bankrupt. The big two are done; I can't take this overpriced shit any more.
Oh god there's gonna be GamerGate references, aren't there?
Oh the douchechills are a'coming.
They already called the lead up/event prior to it "Standoff". The House of Ideas is so idea backrupt they cannot even be bothered to come up with new titles.
I can't help but feel the artists was taking the piss out of the whole thing - civilians are running and fear and people are dying while these meatheads sit around and discuss bullying.
I love it.
On a side note: who would fuck with Clint? He can put an arrow through your eye at a mile's distance. That's if he's just shooting regular arrows. Respect the trick arrows.
>Hahahahahahahaha How The Fuck Is Cyber Bullying Real Hahahaha Nigga Just Walk Away From The Screen Like Nigga Close Your Eyes Haha
>Civil War II
so are they going to let both sides be rational and have their own perspectives be presented fairly and rationally, or will it be dumb one-sided arguments so the "right" side can soapbox the whole time while the "wrong" side act like idiots again?
>For Carol and Tony background
What's the point? It's obviously going to be ignored. (unfortunately)
cool. I can't wait for the issue about a character on the "wrong" side written by a guest writer who presents them as sympathetic and justified, only for their next appearance to have them act like an asshole and have their arguments completely shut down by quips and snappy comebacks.
>scourge of cyber-bullying
I've lost my will to live.
Juggling jobs, family, girlfriends, school, and fighting crime all while hiding a secret identity was easy. No, it's when they read mean stuff on the internet about them that they finally decide to give up on life. lol
Oh don't get triggered over nothing. They were throwing shit at the walls, Robinson said this, then Brevoort immediately shot him down saying it was a stupid idea.
Why not complain about all the dumb as fuck shit they all agreed were GOOD ideas. That's far more rage worthy than a one off comment that they decided against.
>>“What if the pressure causes (the hero) to commit suicide,” suggests James Robinson, another Marvel writer, adding that it could be a good way to draw attention to the scourge of cyber-bullying.
That sounds dumb. James Robinson go to bed, Sandman was the last good thing you wrote.
This should be called Cry for Justice II: Marvel Bugaloo.
"I've fought hell demons and intergalactic shits, I've experienced the trauma of losing comrades and loved ones...the heartbreak of divorce...but...this...this...text on a screen...it is as if Doom, Dormammu, and Kang had colluded in it's writing...I must end my life due to a bunch of words written by a faggot."
>it could be a good way to draw attention to the scourge of cyber-bullying.
DOSE DANG DIRTY GAMURGATORS CALLED ME FAT #ICANTEVEN
He became yet another SJW pandering hack the second he sold out to Memevel. A real man would have stayed at DC and not abondoned them just because Marvel was willing to pay him a couple extra shekels.
>Mr Cry for Justice is gonna ruin Marvel now
>trendy hipster comics
Nigga you don't even read comics, do you?
Is no one going to point out the irony of a 88 reply thread on 4chan talking about how cyber relationships are bullshit?
How many of you spend the majority or even all of your social interactions online?
We'll get into frothy rages about bullshit on the internet and obsess and talk about it for years, but for some reason, someone having an exteme emotional reaction to something online seems ridiculous to you?
Guy appears with the power to predict disasters with 99.99% accuracy before they happen. Team Carol thinks they should use his predictions to be more proactive in their fight against crime by taking out the threats before they happen. Team Tony thinks that's wrong since the punishment has to come after the crime. War Machine is almost certainly going to get killed off as the catalyst for the two going at it.
>if we used this person's abilities then Rhodey wouldn't have died!
>this isn't what he would have wanted!
Or something along those lines. It's just the same old reactive vs. proactive divide that we've seen tackled a hundred times better in a hundred other comics.
>go kill urself faget
>character becomes an hero
>Civil fucking War starts

This is more likely to happen to super heroes. People would criticize anonymous people so thoroughly that they would feel worse than Peter Parker ever felt reading the paper he worked for. People online posting about the collateral damage, people questioning them and their motives. I'm sure the people who side with the comedian who made a joke about cyber bullying not being real would offer advice along the lines of "turn off your computer and/or turn in the cape." It may still be too late as people often kill them selves for more than one reason.
Everyone fucks with Clint now, bro. Sometimes it's not even friendly banter any more. Heroes have been losing respect for each other left and right for years and I just don't get it.
If Kitty goes to Earth she will get infected by Terrigen and go sterile right? You think Bendis will allow it, change the rules so they don't apply or simply ignore it?
Not to say that cyber-bullying is some grand hell or something but why do people think it's just making disparaging comments about people online? Cyber-bullying is about destroying someone's reputation, whether it's by posting compromising photos about them somewhere where everyone can see them, or publicizing information about them that they want to be kept private. Doxxing is a form of cyber-bullying.
If reputations weren't valuable, slander and libel wouldn't be crimes.
I would say that at this point I'm surprised that Marvel doesn't have otherkin or someone with mayonnaise for their gender, but in all fairness in a comicbook world they probably *do* exist.
hawkeye already has explosive arrows, acid arrows, freeze arrows, sonic arrows, flash arrows, net arrows, grappling hook arrows, adamantium arrows, vibranium arrows.
He is one of the best marksmen on the planet carrying around a ranged utility belt arsenal. I've never understood how people put him below Black Widow, even below comic Cap for that matter.
I miss the days when Cap and Clint led the East & West Coast Avengers, there was some powerful symbolism that two non-gods were leading these pantheons.
I hated that issue. All these people on end of year lists falling over themselves to talk about how ~important~ it was, and no one noticing the irony of reducing the character to that single story.
I'm a big marvel fag.
Like, really big. I don't dislike DC, in fact I love DC.
Giving Bendis the helm for ahuge ass event is the first red flag.
If they do publish a story about this, that's it. No more marvel for me until this shitty age ends.
It's an event comic. not just that, it's an event comic called Civil War II. Literally every single element of it has been manufactured from the ground up with the express purpose of shilling to normies.
even quads know how predictable marvel is.
