Isn't Batman vs Superman DC? That would make it 3 anon.
>>
>>78858862
Yes. That writer made a typo.
>>
So New Avengers gained readers since it was below Vision in the charts last month?
>>
>>78859089
Vision just dropped more, standard for new books.
>>
>>78859122
Don't think it dropped, since Marvel is giving out issues #2 and #3 for free.

We'll only see the actual numbers for Vision when 4 and 5 come out.
>>
>>78858601
>The penultimate issue of Marvel Comics' groundbreaking crossover, Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribic's Secret Wars #8, was December's best-selling comic book.
Marvel has found out that delaying a book to no end increases interest in it, huh?
>>
>>78859122
Marvel matched the Vision #2 orders with #1 for free, the same will happen with issue 3.
>>
Why is Batman/TMNT listed as DC only?

So Marvel's share is dropping to DC's, with a point going to Image instead. Anything past #1 in ANAD is flopping and they're leaning heavily on Star Wars titles or they'd be #2. Makes me wonder if they start doubling down on Star Wars. The few titles are already like, a third of their business.

>>
>>78859268
never desu anon, contrary to what Post Crisis Fags have you believe, DC always sold less than Marvel.
>>
>>78859258
That rank is for #2. What a gap in sales between the first two issues of Squadron Supreme
>>
>>78859268
It's shameful to be the #2 publisher only if there are just two publishers.

Take a look around. There are dozens of other publishers getting BTFO by DC. Go find a real underdog to root for.
>>
>Scarlet Witch is #29

Good for her.
>>
>>78858601
Hickman's Secret Wars truly fucked Marvel going by the number of some of those #1. Guess that's why they went with the safe option for Civil War II.
>>
>>78859318
it's the Big 2 anon, no one wants to be the #2 in a duo

>>78859268
>when will dc stop getting btfo?

This is just shitposting, but I'll be nice and explain just in case it's stupidity.

The numbers say nobody's buying anything from Marvel other than Star Wars and #1s. And even the #1 sales are tapering off from their previous numbers. The last couple of months have seen them drop 8% from their event period high, largely losing 7% to DC and 1% to Image.

The company is now, more than ever, completely dependent on Star Wars to maintain their #1 status because ANAD is flopping hard. Direct market outlets look like they're really hurting at a crucial sales period right now. It appears people aren't responding to Marvel's usual sales tricks anymore.

It'll be interesting to see where Marvel goes from here if their usual tricks do indeed finally stop working. DC looks to have finally stabilized and is trending upward after their company move out west and their soft relaunch in the middle of Marvel's event cycle. We'll see if the real beginning of their movie slate has any effect to increase sales. Considering the Batman v Superman TP, which is a reprint collection of past material, sold well it could happen. Image is pretty much business as usual.

I don't even know how Civil War II will do. Especially if the cover is right and they're pushing Carol (again), since people aren't really responding to her from a sales perspective.
>>
>>78859184
Because it's published by dc, not idw

IDW published Star Trek/GL
>>
>>78859851
ah, you think there's more chances for them to crossover? I'd like to see Deadman and the Ghostbusters meet one day. What's the prospect of Marvel crossing over with another universe?
>>
>>78859774
>don't even know how Civil War II will do.
Probably just as good as Secret Wars, or maybe better

It's going to sell on name alone, not to mention it shares its name with an upcoming movie, and Millar's Civil War trade was Marvel's top selling trade of the YEAR
>>
>>78859945
Batman/TMNT looks like it's doing pretty well and Star Trek/GL was a pretty good seller for IDW (and the ending was practically begging for a sequel) so I wouldn't be surprised if they do more crossovers
>>
>>78859268
Post DCU, marvel will be the second, anon.
>>
>>78859945
DC does a crossover every year I think. There was Star Trek/Legion of Super Heroes, Batman '66/Green Hornet.
>>
>>78860572
They're doing Man From UNCLE/Batman 66 right now, too

Hopefully, the comics industry crashes so the Bendises and Inhumans and Brevoorts of the industry can finally go away.

After the storm comes a rainbow.
>>
>>78864507
This. It's not like anyone even reads comics anymore. We'd all be better off if they were gone so we wouldn't have to sit here and watch our characters get manhandled by these cunts.
>>
>>78864678
Oh the books would come back in some form. The main thing I want is a change in staff. Too many hacks and shiftless "editors". If Marvel wasn't gifted with the Star wars rights by the Mouse, the talentless fucks in the company would be halfway out the door already.

Sales of actual Marvel characters are tanking. It's beautiful.
>>
bottom 100 usually hovers around 22-24k, doesn't it?

>91 OCT150194 ACTION COMICS #47 $3.99 DC
Wasn't this doing better? The last few issues were kinda bad though, not surprised if the stupid shadow stuff made it drop

>94 OCT150789-M STARBRAND AND NIGHTMASK #1 $3.99 MAR
kek

>95 OCT150908-M ASTONISHING ANT-MAN #3 $3.99 MAR
>97 OCT150871-M SPIDER-WOMAN #2 $3.99 MAR
>98 OCT150787-M SQUADRON SUPREME #2
those are some painful drops
>>
>>78864931
Oh great, just what we need, let's replace everyone with tumblrites. I'm sure that'll fix things!

Fuck off SJW shill.
>>
>>78865026
Those are some hard drops. I wonder if people only buying the first issue have anything to do with it? You know, THOSE kind of collectors.
>>
>>78865346
I'm sure it had nothing to do with speculators or variants!
>>
>>78865026
100 is usually around 25k, yes.

>Ant-Man 1 73,370
>Ant-Man 2 40,192
>Ant-Man 3 37,139
>Ant-Man 4 31,637
>Ant-Man 5 83,095

>Astonishing Ant-Man 1 75,598
>Astonishing Ant-Man 2 31,358

You know, if they hadn't had relaunched they probably could've ridden that 83k bump for 2-3 issues before it dropped back to normal.
>>
>>78865070
>>Memetard memeing angrily.

Come up with your own thoughts and stop repeating everything you hear, ya lemming piece of shit.

Anyway, if you'd have a problem with a regime change for fear of progressivism, look around, dumbass. Thor is a woman and Captain Jingoism is a black guy already. You're already getting half-hearted progressivism, be it via talentless, faux-progressive shitheads that only got G Willow Wilson on contract because people called attention to the fact that Marvel is reluctant to hire women.

It might do the company some good to get a real "SJW" running things instead of producing all this paper-thin pandering bullshit.
>>
>>78865610
>Come up with your own thoughts
Not him but don't you believe in that inhumans are replacing x-men bullshit that got spread via mob mentality and misinformation.
>>
>>78858606
I think that is the highest of seen a
Mignola verse book on these rankings. Good for B.P.R.D.
>>
>>78865717
Lol read the comics. Particularly the most recent Extraordinary X-Men.

The X-Men tropes and concept has been borrowed for yet another Inhumans comic which, if you check the OP, relatively no one wants to read. There's even a wheelchair professor for "symmetry".

The only ones saying Marvel doesn't want to replace the X-Men with Inhumans are the kids who can't follow along and only parrot what Marvel says because they like the movies a hell of a lot.

It's not debatable really, if you know what's going on in the books.
>>
>>78865026
>94 OCT150789-M STARBRAND AND NIGHTMASK #1 $3.99 MAR
Being Weisman is suffering
>>
>>78868039
>it gets cancelled before issue 3 comes out
>>
>>78865026
Batgirl usually hovers around 29-30K, and hasn't changed much over the past few months, since it has no variant covers. You can use that as a benchmark
>>
>>78866055
>if you check the OP, relatively no one wants to read
#28 is "relatively nobody"? In what fucking world are you living in?
>>
>>78868359
To be fair though, it's a launch of a new series. Retailers have to guess at how many people will be buying the first issue.

If you look at All New All Different Avengers for example, the first issue debuted at #6 last month and on December's chart, it's at #23.

If All-New Inhumans #1 is at #28, then what's it gonna be next month?
>>
nice to see DC is finally stabilizing to their usual numbers despite Star Wars and All New All Different Marvel
>>
>>78860572
>DC does regular crossovers with other companies, most creators are pretty friendly
>Marvel has burned bridges with crossovers after JLA/Avengers and most of the higher ups there encourage the ol' company rivalry
>>
>>78869106

If DC was able to capitalize on one of the WB franchises they could be dead even with Marvel. I know JK would never allow it but a con Harry Potter line would sell just as well
>>
>>78869722
screw HP, I want fucking Lord of the Rings comics.
>>
>>78869783

I don't. They couldn't do them justice
>>
>>78869852
I know anon, I just want something akin to Fell's Five again. There's barely any sword n' sorcery books out there
>>
>>78869783

To compete with Star Wars you need Harry Potter. Would I prefer a Glorfindel comic oer Luna Lovegood? Sure as shit. But only one of those would sell over 50,000
>>
Rank 75 says retailers don't think many people are going to want to read about All New Inhumans.
>>
>>78868359
It double shipped in December. #28 was for the first issue, #75 was for the second issue.
>>
>>78869986

Of course they fucking don't. The Inhumans are budget mutants nothing Marvel does will change that.
>>
>>78869722
Why doesn't Rowling like printing money?

Harry Potter and the Auror Adventures when?
>>
>>78869783
There's a Hobbit comic. I recently downloaded it.
>>
>>78870172
>Why doesn't Rowling like printing money?
she's literally a billionaire
>>
>>78870172

Rowling has more money than God. I'm not sure why she won't allow it though. It can't be for artistic integrity though because she has zero problem with people changing her charters for cheap controversy.
>>
>>78870172
>>78869722

I know so many normies that would buy Harry Potter comics that it frustrates me JK wont cut a deal with DC
>>
>>78870188

Any good?
>>
>>78870206
I know. I'm asking why she doesn't want to be a multi-billionaire.

I'd have Potter shit everywhere people wanted it.

In eighty years it'll be Sherlock and people will make up their own shit and sell it like it's new, so she may as well put out as many definitive, official content as possible.
>>
>just wait until the double digit issues roll in for Marvel, then the sales will drop dead!
nigga, they're just going to re-number them again then
>>
>>78870362

She does do that. My friend recently went to that Harry Potter world and she came back with Harry potter shit out the ass. A few comic would be nothing in terms of wealth to her. the equivalent of you or i finding 2 bucks on the ground but it would be a good way for her to expand the universe
>>
>>78870362
>I know. I'm asking why she doesn't want to be a multi-billionaire.
I dunno, I'm pretty sure she gives a fuckload to charity, and really, what can you do with five billion dollars that you can't do with one billion dollars?

I don't think she wants to dilute the franchise while she's around so she keeps it under an iron fist
>>
>>78870395

And this will work less and less with everytime they do it
>>
>>78870421

>what can you do with five billion dollars that you can't do with one billion dollars?

Lets ask Lucas!
>>
>>78870417
Hopefully this Wizards In Merica side-movie takes off and spurs even more investment in the property, comics and otherwise. I'm all for more Potter stuff.
>>
>>78869722
I mean... Besides JKR and The Harry Potter series, what else could WB turn into a comic? The Matrix? LoTR? Sherlock Holmes? The Last Samurai? I mean, what properties that WB has access to would seriously make a best-selling comic?
>>
>>78858601
>A Dan Abnett space opera comic is one of the best selling comics

EVEN NOW THERE IS HOPE FOR MAN and jesus FUCK /co/ I skipped that title because it was a Bendis written project fuck me sideways buying this shit right now to support my boy.
>Vision doing ok
Oh god I hope it doesn't drop.
>>
>>78870551
>Oh god I hope it doesn't drop.
they're giving away free copies of issue 3 too, so as long as they keep that up it'll be their most consistently selling title!
>>
>>78859240
>Laughing about a good comic selling less than a bad comic

I wish I could laugh anon. I wish I could laugh.
>>
>>78870421
That's a good question. I guess the answer is "leave even more money for your inevitably spoiled descendants."

I'd like to hope she wants to expand the universe though, before people do it for her after she's gone.

At the same time though...mfw Harry Potter becomes everlasting like cape-shit.

>>5 decades go by. Harry is 29.
>>
>>78870587
Nigga as long they tell the story they want to tell on that title without cancelling it until it is finished I don't give a fuck. I'd buy the ever loving fuck of a hard cover with all the issues in and gift all of my friends in 2016 christmas. I cherish this Vision.
>>
I'm rather new to comics. I gotta ask, does DC and Marvel make most of their money from issues, tpb's or the merchandise?

ANAD beginning to fizzle out a few months in.
>>
>>78872283
Depends on who you mean. Merchandise money likely goes to upper management and anyone who gets royalties for creating a character.

TPBs don't get made if a comic sold poorly while monthly or there's no media tie-in.
