How do you prefer your Selina Kyle, you bunch of racists?
Black, or Caucasian?
My favourite design for her was in The Batman.
we've argued this many, many times
if her hair is dark, short. If it's blonde, long.
There's also another alternate Catwoman in the Batman/Tarzan Elseworlds that takes place in 1939.
Caucasian. Both pale or with a nice tan are fine by me.
No she isn't. That's just the artstyle.
Way back when Wizard Magazine did the Casting Call articles where they or comics creators picked the actors and actresses to play comics characters for fun, Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale thought Jennifer Lopez should be Catwoman if a Long Halloween film were made.
fuck all you niggas
>This is in keeping with Frank Miller's original graphic novel. When Miller began working on Year One he was given the task of restarting and reinventing the origins of Batman as they would be depicted in monthly Batman comic books for years to come. One twist he choose to take was to alter the origin of Catwoman. Miller reinvented her not only by changing her race but making her a prostitute who turns to masked crime as way to rise out of her lowly place in life. However Miller's choices for Selina Kyle did not turn out popular and many future Batman writers and editors choose to retcon away these changes in future monthly issues of Batman comic books. In fact her race was reverted to white almost immidately, while the prostitute backstory has slowly come and gone over the course of many years.
He's based off this guy, bud
>Look this up
>"Actually, there is some controversy over whether or not Miller intended Selina to be African-American in Batman: Year One. Selina isn't colored with a particularly dark skin-tone, nor does she have any distinctively African-American features. Miller could have just as easily been portraying her as Latina or with no particular ethnic background."
This isn't just a "one or two retards" thing, a lot of people think she looks black.
Somebody post Bats and Selina next to each other in the year one film, see if they look different.
I'm not your buddy, guy
Year One is in the Millerverse where DKR was published first and she's clearly white.
So was Batman Black in Year One as well?
Does anyone have the original coloring of Year ONe, I want to see why people thought this.
And ambiguously Hispanic/Italian.
>Not preferring her zipped up
Plebeiest of the plebeians.
Hey kid, it's me Selina.
A sexy Somali Catwoman would really be tops.
Though the costume doesn't really work with such dark skin.
Why was this not the original design? I mean, I already run into enough of pic related, can't we have nice things for once?
Because originally she was waisty vamp and comic artists love their big ol' titties and asses....frankly every artist does.
Because it's disgusting and ill-fitting. Gymnast body or bust.
She's looking like a paler grace jones here. I read her as black. I think you can make a reasonable case either way.
>tfw she's dead now
RIP dat beautiful butt
I like the suggestion of that one anon, who said that for the movies, they should cast an actress in Ben Affleck's actual age range and play it like they have a long history together already.
I think he suggested Carla Gugino.
I mean since it's Snyder and she's like the one good actress he regularly casts...
Hate to be that guy, but purely from an artistic point of view, white makes more sense for her costume. The actual white skin contrasting with the black suit is very gothic and works. If her skin was dark broken it meshs with the black suit and becomes less appealing. Black and brown don't mix together.
>he has't finished Valentine's run
I love Grey DeLisle too, but the arkham games were honestly kind of bad at character design, IMO.
>Selina's suit is zipped down, she doesn't use the goggles, boots are high heels
>Source of slutty/doesn't-even-look-like-a-harlequin Harley Quinn
They did alright in a few cases like Freeze and Firefly, but IIRC Firefly wasn't even Rocksteady.
She did have a nice butt, though.
