Sigh, I wish Disney would just buy DC comics and give it to Marvel already. Marvel doesn't make stupid racist mistakes like this. Marvel would also fix DC's universe and undo the nu52. Pakistania was created in 1947 by the Indian Independence Act. Tensions with the newly independent India boiled over into war in 1949, the resulting India-Pakistanian War saw major combat lasting until 1952 with sporadic and low-key clashes continuing until the UN-backed peace accords of 1954. After the war the Soviet Union turned it's attention to Pakistania, showering it with money, equipment, and technical expertise in an attempt to court Pakistania's support to counter US-backed Iran and India's growing Non-Aligned Movement. However, due to apprehensions about the SU's state atheism and fears of colonial power, Pakistania was slow to back the SU outside of mutual international positions. This prompted SU intelligence services to begin a campaign against Pakistania, assassinating or otherwise removing state officials seen as insufficiently pro-Soviet which in turn lead to the Peshawar Uprising of 1965. The resulting Pakistanian Civil War lasted for two years; despite early successes, the SU backed forces quickly became bogged down and lost public support due to brutality and deliberate targeting of religious centers. The Sino-Soviet split well underway, opposition forces found themselves backed by both China and the USA and their resulting materiel and intelligence advantage, along with the mobilization of Indian forces along the border, led to the USSR quietly withdrawing support to focus on Vietnam. Following the Constitution of 1970, conflict between the government and communist forces mostly subsided until the Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan when heavily armed, communist "volunteer brigades" returned from fighting and began openly challenging government authority. This internal crisis, lasting until the early 90s, resulted in mass internal displacement and the collapse of law and order saw Afghani and international Islamist groups gain influence and control over Pakistania's underdeveloped tribal regions.
