>tfw the couch gags from the past decade and a half have been better than the episodes themselves
>Those fucking tattoos
>Showing the rest of Springfield
>This entire clip
Genius. Also, the light static is a nice touch.
i wondered how well it would mesh with true survivor. Note that I'm not a video editor or audio engineer so...
The reason the couch gags are good is a.) other people are working on them, and b.) the writers realize the show is total shit these days and the only positive press they can get is from people on the internet liking and upvoting certain parts of the show. Hence why they will put effort into one or two segments that can easily be monetized into a YouTube or Hulu video that gets shared on Facebook and Reddit while the rest of the episode is forgettable filler garbage
It's fantastic if you look at it from a Dethklok perspective instead of an Archer perspective.
It's stupid. The show knows it's stupid. If you spend time looking for clever writing, you won't enjoy it.
Animation quality was decidedly slipshod. Minimal at best. Usually just sliding a still image. It comes off as stiff and stilted.
Even a regular Simpsons episode has more fluid, smoother animation
Not particularly. There's some golden episodes like the one about the strike visualization guy or the fire department rivalry, but most of it never got better than the first couple of episodes. It'll always reek of lost potential to me as characters like Rad just never become funny to me.
Why do the alternate graphical styles always seem more appealing than the actual art?
> The artists and fans care more about the art than the executives who run the show, but arn't allowed to do what they want to.
The couch gags are the only things that have gotten better overtime
This one in particular is a classic: https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwirqYGb0ZzKAhWJ0xoKHasdB_IQtwIIHzAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Dm78gYyTrG7Y&usg=AFQjCNHBP2AuzbJlkJBp_DszlTXVM1G82A&sig2=zV9XSkUSsIl3CGeVWcP1Zw&bvm=bv.111396085,d.d2s
>That absolutely dogshit animation when it cuts back to the normal Simpsons
Yesterday I was talking with a guy and it went like this...
>man, when I was a kid, my dad used to buy all kinds of stuff. Computers, little kits from radio shack, hi-if sets-
>what's a hi-fi?
Sorry, man, I didn't mean to offend the 4chan Cool Kids Club, lol! I've been here since I was 18 in 2010, so I think I know how this place works, and not everyone likes to "talk" like everyone else.
Also, I thought this site was anti-social. Why should people care about fitting in?
These parodies seem to happen a lot these days. Kung Fury, Moonbeam City, Blood Dragon, Hotline Miami, Double Dragon Neon etc.
I don't think I've ever seen this much neon even back when the 80's were happening.
the couch gags from the shittiest era of the simpsons were still somewhat okay, but once the show started getting betterish in the last few years, the couchgags went off the fucking deep end. theyre not even gags, just music videos or ripoffs of other shows' intros
Wow you fucking idiot, vaporwave is from the 2010s
The video's aesthetic are 80s neon/laser/space/radical bullshit
>I don't think I've ever seen this much neon even back when the 80's were happening.
What we're seeing is basically people doing simulacra of the 1980s, seen through the lens of Schwarzenegger movies like The Running Man and Total Recall with bad VHS tracking, Roland drum machines, Yamaha FM synths and their airbrushed album covers.
Is there an artist or animator that you'd like to see get a crack at making a Simpson's intro?
