Nope. Never. I'm not an energetic or fun person so I'd be manning a cashier or working as a janitor. I've done that second one before. It is not a fun job. And I never had to deal with anything nastier than period explosions on toilet seats. I'm certain nastier surprises await within a place that gets thousands of visitors every day walking around with babies in skin-searing heat.

i was a custodian at epcot and i loved it. you're more of a talking park map than ajanitor. on a streets shift you get a few trash runs, then you can spend the rest of the time talking to guests, pin trading, and painting water mickeys. i picked up a streets shift once in magic kingdom and it was awful because they use plastic liners instead of trash bags so you can only empty a few cans before you have to go to the AVAC and then when you come back they're all full again... oh and restroom shifts with brazilian tour groups... but overall i loved it.

it really depends. the thing with Disney is their parks are institutions and they're very specific about what happens there; that said, they can actually afford to spend money on each park, to the amount it needs. meanwhile, Cedar Fair cares less about what happens at each park, but owns theme parks and water parks almost exclusively, and since they bleed money heavily, can't afford to keep each park up like it needs.

i give it to Cedar Fair because Halloween Haunt is a great way to get out all the built-up stress from the season.

It's actually pretty easy to start working there if apply for the Disney College program.

My friend went through that program for a semester. Said it was a good experience and helped a ton with his social and independence skills. Plus it looks really good on your resume.

my bro worked at the TTC in the college program. he didn't get paid well and had to pay for part of his subsidized apartment so money was tight, and there were times he had to work 72 hours straight over the holidays with naps in the locker room. also it's hot as hell in the parking lot all day. but the people he met were awesome and from around the world. they'd go drinking at the irish pub in downtown disney when they had free time and would visit islands of adventure sometimes because its way fucking better rides than disney.

One of my old coordinators was ex military and he was the one who usually drilled us for marching in the Flag Retreat ceremonies. That wasn't an entertainment role, though, you'd have to work in entertainment to be training stormtroopers.

I did. It depends on what you want. I got an okay job - driving the trams around the parking lot. Minimum wage of course. But for just a college internship it was great. I mean, I got to go to Disney World for free four times a week for most of last year. Great way to make a ton of friends my age. But if you get a job like working the tollbooth...it sucks. The job's not great, but if you're young and want to make a ton of friends, go to Disney World a few times every week, it's awesome.
