I really liked it, mostly because of how successful Dan was in his revenge.

Agreed. Whenever she showed up I just zoned out. There was some boring episodes too but every series has those and the pros heavily outweighed the cons.

To be fair though, she had good chemistry with Dan. Having her as a foil to him worked pretty well, as did his interactions with her parents. But yeah, they did rely too heavily on the secret agent stuff.

Dan beat her up in a robo-fight plus it's pretty clear that she's just a few short steps away from becoming just like him (she destroyed New Mexico in one of the first episodes). I agree with you though.

Am I the only one who didn't like season 2?

The best part, for me, was Dan, being the form of chaotic evil that he judged to be lawful good. If someone wronged him, it had to be a willful act of spite, even a conspiracy. That, combined with all his other traits that make him a bad person, made it hilarious to see him drag people through shit, on a nonsensical crusade, which he arbitrarily ends.

So when he turns out to be right every time, that kind of ruins it.

I would love to see a Dan Vs the Boss, for example, where the boss in question is legitimately just a hardass trying to keep a professional work environment.

What are you talking about? Dan was always right against all odds, starting from the Wolfman, the very first episode. Season 2 actually made him wrong(-er) than usual.

It got three seasons, which is two more seasons than it could be reasonably expected to have. I'm happy with that.

I've only seen a few episodes but I imagine it didn't do well because it's in the strange zone between kids and adult cartoon. There's nothing really bad in it for kids, but it's not explicitly aimed at them, while it's not mature and edgy enough for adults and it's on the same channel as you know what. When it's something like that, it can only get a small audience such as us /co/ losers.

Yeah, the only episode I can recall where Dan was flat-out wrong in his accusations was The Neighbors. I think he thought they were cannibals, but they were actually just friendly, nice people, until Dan got through with them.

It's implied in Family Thanksgiving that Elise and Dan are possibly cousins.
Elise's mother comments on how Dan's deviled eggs taste exactly the way that her own mother made them, but took the recipe with her to her grave. Later on Dan states that he stole the deviled egg recipe from his own grandmother on her deathbed.
It would also explain why Elise and Dan are so similar, the major difference being that Elise managed to channel her murderous and otherwise sociopathic tendencies into a career, while Dan just lets them fester.

FUN FACT: Elise was almost voiced by Tara Strong. I'm very glad that Paget Brewster won out in the end.

The Hub was a joint venture between Discovery and Hasbro. Hasbro got the majority share and got to decide what to do with it.

One of the things they got to do with it was make Dan vs. Apparently, the creators knew the head honcho or someone close enough and got it made.

It's ratings were pretty bad, because the Hub, as a channel, was hard to get. Remember this part.

They kept making new content, along with Aquabats and MLP and Pet Shop and Transformers, because a channel needs content to actually attract people. The Hub actually leveraged MLP's popularity to make commercials for Dan vs., so you can thank Bronies for keeping it on the air as long as possible.

Then Discovery started getting back its shares in the Hub and changing stuff. Lots of shows got the axe and now you are here.

The hub was happy to pawn it off to discovery. Funnily enough, it's tricky to get toy advertisers on a channel that's obviously owned by a toy company itself.

Because there were no associated toys, and it didn't do well in the demographics that the network was aiming at. That's a big reason why a lot of cartoons get cancelled.
