I can't believe I read the whole thing. It was awesome at the time, but looking back those are hours I wish I spent somewhere else.
I wouldn't call it "garbage" but it didn't really speak to me.
The art didn't help, honestly. Alex Ross is a fantastic artist, but his realistic style just makes superheroes look incredibly ridiculous.
what is Sex Criminals
what is the new Doctor Strange run.
what is Saga
what is Paper Girls
what is the new Star Wars comics
Punisher Max, it was cynical and juvenile garbage wrapped up in pretensions and violence. The most appalling aspect was it's simple approach to morality, for some reason it's lauded as something for "mature readers."
I think it's the fact that his superheroes just looks like buff people wearing very cheap spandex pajamas. That and his action poses are very obviously staged because they don't have the same dynamicity as those you draw from your mind's eye.
As soon as Ellis started following a straight up plotline, the comic started to suck, but everything before that was pure gold and you can't deny it. Darrick Robertson's art also started to falter near the end, for some reason, and became really shit in The Boys.
This. The only reason it gets THAT much hate was because ATLA was so great. If it just came on it's own, it would be generally neutrally treated on /co/ for the backgrounds alone.
>the new Doctor Strange run
you got russed, m8
I get that you might have to have a bit more experience with the character than I do.. But Jesus fuck it was boring and felt pointless. The only part I liked was when Supes talked that girl off of killing herself.
>All this shit taste
