TMNT2: Toys Provide First Look At Krang
>On Monday, an excerpt from an interview Rolling Stone conducted with the film's producer, Michael Bay, confirmed that Krang, a supervillain that looks like a disembodied brain, will appear in the 2016 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live-action film. However, he'll be without his trademark tentacles as Bay believed they made him look "like a stupid octopus."
>without his trademark tentacles
Why is Bay afraid of the source material, /co/?
the turtles are all still hulking swaggering black men painted green, and michelangelo still has that fucking annoying waynes brother type of wacky black guy personality, so i dont know.
>Four giant humanoid turtles named after Renascence painters that love skateboarding and pizza
>That learned ninjitsu from a giant humanoid elderly rat
>And fight two street thugs mutated into a humanoid rhino and warthog, the later of which has a purple mohawk and eskimo glasses
>There's also an alien from another dimension that's just a brain with a face on it that rides around in the belly of a android fat guy-
That sounds pretty reasonable...
>The alien has tentacles
WHAT KIND OF DUMB STUPID BULLSHIT ARE YOU TRYING TO PUSH!?
I'd be alright with Sacks as the Shredder if they had established more clearly that he was Oroku Saki's protege and the leader of the American branch of the Foot. They have guns because it's Murrica, while the original Foot are still traditional ninja, and the original Shredder is saved for the sequel. Maybe have him be a successor too if they want to do the ancient history route like IDW.
But they didn't cast him until the reshoots. Yoshi doesn't exist in this universe, which was the biggest problem, so they had no reason to add him.
They wanted to do that in the 2nd movie, professor perry was going to be an utrom. but they thought it would confuse kids and make them think he was krang. he got reverse Kaa'd
I don't think he meant stupid unreasonable, but stupid unattractive
but.. the 2003 show was the one with mullets. they were gorgeous.
dont really care. not seeing it.
he is mislabeling these as racial traits, yes. he should be saying urban. young inner city men all act like this regardless of race, and they are all the shittiest people on earth.. and making the turtles like them is a travesty
the utroms have little hovering platforms
>new Foot activity
>Baxter making new mutants
Anyone else think this is going to get too cluttered? I know TMNT is a franchise that thrives on elaborate subplots mixing together, but this is a movie, not a comic or animated series, so the prospects feel unnerving.
>However, he'll be without his trademark tentacles as Bay believed they made him look "like a stupid octopus."
How is a talking brain that looks like an octopus any less plausible than anything else that have been in other Bay films?
>According to the conversation, Helman said VFX company Industrial Light & Magic “eliminated the tentacles,” to which Bay replied, “He could have some tentacles. I just don’t want them coming out of the side. He looks like a stupid octopus.”
Actual quote, so tentacles, just not coming out of his sides.
