No fucking way. Finally. Looks like I'll have to go to my LcS again.
>>
>>78643525
Don't worry, it'll be available as early as 2017.
>>
Brandon Graham is an insufferable faggot, but I'm gonna be totally bummed when Prophet finally ends.
>>
>>78644540
Wow you mean the site that's changed the release date like 6 times? You're a real smartie. You get a gold star!
>>
>>78646912
but it's supposed to actually come out, Graham wanted de 5 issues to be done before publishing the first 1, I think issue 1 has been done for many many months.
>>
>>78646912
Diamond is the distributor. Should they have continued to list the old dates?

You're looking for the current date. Diamond lists the most accurate current date since they're the ones shipping the god damn comic. Get fucked.
>>
>>78647413
If it changes so much there's literally no way of knowing when the comic will actually come out :^)
>>
>>78645431
You're nice please read my comics.
>>

Hey Brandon, how do you feel about Island's performance?
>>
>>78652153
hmmm I'm fairly happy with the book's content but wish it sold better. We're going on a break after #6
>>
>>78652153
but I should mention that everything in ISLAND is still going to make it to trade regardless of where the mag goes.
>>
>>78652289
is the new multiple warheads content getting its own trade?

orc stain when?
>>
>>78652289
do you have plans for another longish series like king city?
>>
>>78652324
That's nice to hear, Simon Roy's habitat was my favorite thing to come out of Island so far.
>>
>>78652332
Yeah, but I've only got 70 pages of new MW drawn now. I need to figure out how long to make the 2nd trade. (the 1st one was 200+)

And I'm not even sure what Stokoe is up to with Orc Stain. He'd taken on some more side work last time we talked- but I know he has a lot of unpublished stuff finished for it
>>
>>78652364
I was thinking after this MW story I'd wanna focus on some 60 to 100 page shorter comics for awhile. I have a thing called ELEPHANT I want to do next. and then a murder mystery set in the MW world

what comics do you read right now if you do read any.

i always find creators, even cape writers, tend to read more obscure stuff on their own time
>>

I'm not sure if I've ever read a good moonknight comic. but also the character just seems really confusing.
>>
>>78652811
I did the Ringside logo. (and yess it's good stuff)
>>
>>78652289
>>78652324
This makes me happy. I'm behind when it comes to buying Island and the low sales had me a bit spooked about the future of the content planned for it.
>>
i wish the business model of island was more successful. people complaining about the price tag aren't weighing that with the amount of content. most comics now cost about 15 cents per page.

generally, anthologies would be so good for the american market a la shonen jump
>>
>>78652940
The good news is that multiple comic anthologies are on the horizon now. I'm certainly biased about Island being my favourite but all in all I think it's a great thing for comics to have more
>>
Hey Brandon. Off topic question but how much time does Robin wait until throwing up an Inkstuds episode? Also when are you going to guest on it again? You make the best co-host.

Done done annnnnnd done!

Loook, the thing is I try to leave people who do personal work alone-- because they are doing work for themselves. but I feel like doing corporate work open you up to criticism in a different way. Especially because of what an impact that work has on the industry as a whole. It Effects how stores order books and how readers think of comics.

And the European thing, I'm influenced by that stuff sure, but also a lot of other work. I don't think you'd get a lot of people to co-sign you that I'm not doing my own kind of work. Weather it's good work or not is another thing but it's at least my own.

I like BPRD a lot. I think John Arcudi is one of the best writers in comics.

I haven't read much recent Hellboy. I heard he was in hell.

If Brandon Graham's Twitter followers all suddenly migrate to 4chan, then we'll have an influx of people who read comics. Since /co/ is currently mostly people who come for live action, it would be an improvement.

Also, nobody is going to join just because Brandon linked to us. You aren't as appealing as you think you are.

Kinda disappointed Island is getting collected in trades, I thought I read you and Rios were doing it purely as an anthology format. I broke my tradewaiting habit just to collect Island

Was still worth it, mind and I've loved erry ish - but doesn't that make the whole format redundant? I always thought it was cool digging through longboxes and finding stories in Cheval Noir or Heavy Metal that were never reprinted

There's certainly a lot in ISLAND that wont be in trades-- the articles and intro illustration stuff.
but I think it would be kind of unfair to the more unknown creators in the book to not collect the work in trades since that's where most of the money is made in comics these days.

The /co/mmunity doesn't actually read comics a lot, the popularity of star wars and marvel movies has flooded the board with film fans looking to pick a fight. You can't spell contrarian without /co/

I love your work and I've bought most of your stuff. Island had been kind of a mixed bag but solid enough. Jimmy Palmiotti tried to do a similar anthology magazine a while back called Creator Owned Heroes that I think only made it to ten issues.

I'm looking forward to more of your stuff in the future.

They're probably fans, believe it or not.

It's a sort of neurosis that some channers have, to hurt the person who makes the thing they love. Part of it is probably the fact that you're not truly anonymous (though not wearing a trip or letting yourself be goaded into one helps your standing). The rest is sadism, trying to wrestle your own autonomy from you via careful insults. There's a lot of overlap with hazing.

I can't relate to it as a practice but it happens to people who make things on these boards, things that people get invested in. More so when they have any kind of opinions about... well, anything; they gives anons ammunition and a way to attack you.

Still, I'm sure I'm not the only one who first encountered your work on this board years ago. Your work is the whipped cream of comics for me and, like whipped cream, I rub it all over the people I love.
