Will we never see another cartoon with anthromorphic characters because of furries?
There are tons of cartoon animal shows. Nobody makes them traditionally sexy anymore though. So it's up to us to sex 'em up. Too bad if you have an on model fetish.
It's not fair it got canned because Turner was attracted to some furchick. Besides it's one of the first times that a bara character was the protag I mean there's Megas XLR but that got canned too.
Nah, at least some of them will be reused ad naseum, like pic related or
Whoops, forgot pic.
I think Swat Kats getting canned had a little more to do with toy sales than how hot people found Callie.
That and teh toys weren't selling as good, apparently, which is odd seeing as how many anons have told me they would want this every time I post it.
Given of course, it's a little out of the intended age group, but I digress. I'm pretty sure any kid would have loved a turbokat toy
If they made a reboot I wonder how that would go. I would imagine it starts off the world as a polluted crime infested dystopia with a overeliance of technology and a use of dangerous chemicals and as the series progress it gets slightly better over time.
>I could imagine CP getting a Skrillex cut to appeal to the new genration.
Why does this thought hurt me so
Because the mullet was always bad so what could make it worse? A Skrillex cut. Also the opening is gonna have dubstep and every episode has SJW stuff as a sideplot and every planeteer is a hipster.
I guess it had to do with the whole "Mascot" mentality of the late 80's-early to mid-90's. Be it vidya, cereal, you name it. Anthropomorphic animals were a good seller because hey, kids like animals, right? Talking animals were a no brainer.i
Just pretend furries dont exist. A furry character is fine and a furry character can even have sex appeal and its fine. Just dont let them absorb a fandom, dont view them as a representative of anything other than their own atrocious behavior, or even acknowledge them as a person into furry characters.
A huge chunk of the people who played Animal Crossing NL have a crush on Isabelle and its a non-issue because nobody is a retard enabler in the fandom.
Telling someone who is a furry to "fuck off" is as bad as feeding a troll because its incentive for them to come back. All you do is ignore them and then when their idiotic posting finally breaks a rule you report them and they get banned.
only furfags and the people who care about them give half a rat's ass about the whole "furry" debacle. Other people just see an anthropomorphic character and say, "yeah, so?"
And if that character is hot, so be it. Like I said. Only furfags and the idiods who react to them. care enough to raise a fuss in either direction as to whether somersetting is human or not.
Ask any of your normalfriends if tehy care if something is "furry". Vast majority of teh will wonder what in the hell you're talking about.
Given how it's one big lens, I'm not sure how it's gonna work.
"Symmetrical Docking is a process where two Super-AI robots combine to form a more powerful robot. The robots must have a high SympaRate to perform Symmetrical Docking. "
So we need a picture of them piloting robots which are combining to form another, bigger robot. I'm sure Puma-Dyne would have something they could use.
Is when 2 girls with big boobs press then together
Bigger in a literal sense, maybe, but in terms of relativity? I dunno about that.
Well, Felina is considerably larger, so you're deffinitely going to be coping more in your hands.
Callie's waist ratio deffinitely makes hers stand out more.
But keep in mind Felina looks cosiderably stacked despite the enforcer armor.
In the end it depends on your preference. I would wreck both but lean towards Felina. Hers are larger and I have a thing for fit girls like her.
G.F.D, an artist, up until very recently hasnt had a gallery of his own. He now has a Hentai-Foundry account and is accepting commissions.
Also he is really into feet and loli, so if your not into that kind of stuff just a heads up
Yeah sure. Not my biggest kink, but I-
Thanks for the heads up
oh boy, a "c" thread . they are always so full of variety and new content!
i find it funny that almost no one had noticed her rack up until they rewatched the series, most of her fanart doesn't focus on it or actually downsizes it a bit.
bet she was popular at high school
gams for ages, that's what she also has
>implying we need another show when we've got TMNT
even in the episodes where she's not so detailed she still has a rocking body, almost perfect hourglass figure and all.
i figure she'd be as popular as April O'Neal if the show hadn't been prematurely taken out
i'd chalk it up to her suit binding her down most of the time, and the cheaper studios skipping detailed perspectives and shading
did the guy who was going to write something last time ever come back
No. We will have a ton of shows concerning anthropomorphic animals because of furries.
Only reason there aren't as many right now is because people follow trends and the current trend is shows like Family Guy, Adventure Time, and The Simpsons. Either slice of life comedies featuring a dysfunctional family or wacko lolsorandom noodle people. The minute a show featuring anthropomorphic animals comes out and clicks with audiences, another boom will occur. Seeing how many furries are going into computer animation, traditional animation, and general animation fields, I can see this boom happening again in ten years at the very least.
it's kind of what we do here
really though, Callie's interesting. She deserved some more background.
Some animation studios have tons of problems keeping characters on model (mostly female characters). They will (some times on purpose, sometimes by accident) draw her with different proportions than normal.
Note that in certain cases, this is allowed (I remember a few anime had this. Some male characters were slightly more muscular, while the some of the girls had more noticeable proportions, and in one case, cleavage).
One of the weirdest one's I saw was a character that was flat normally, with DD breasts for a few important scenes in one episode.
A good /co/ example is from Goof Troop. You know the episode, don't hide it.
>Will we never see another cartoon with anthromorphic characters because of furries?
They don't have as much of an influence as people on this site seem to think. People think we don't get games with anthro characters due to furries anymore.
>Only reason there aren't as many right now is because people follow trends and the current trend is shows like Family Guy, Adventure Time, and The Simpsons. Either slice of life comedies featuring a dysfunctional family or wacko lolsorandom noodle people.
This. Hell the average person doesn't even know what a furry is despite what people here will tell you.
For a while there where rumors that a Swat Kats sequel was in the works. That was years ago, so no doubt it was just a rumor. I would LOVE to see a new Swat Kats series. Anyone else?
>no one drawing
What a crying shame. Drawing request?
>I've been trying to buy the rights for Swat Kats and Batman Beyond for a reboot but there's so much stupid red tape to get through and legal bullshit.
As much as the kid inside me wants to see this happen, i'm having trouble that one of my fellow anoneemoose has the funds or legal knowhow to even so much as make an attempt.
In other words, I'm gonna need proof that you at least had some sort of resources.
Really now. Call me new, but I never heard news of this. Sauce plox
guess I shouldn't be too surprised. All things considered, we know about Horridus' little fan here, whose situation this reminds me greatly of, but she's from a obscure comic primarily read by adults/young adults. That was a kids show. I mean, yeah, we see examples right here on c/o/, but i didn't think it would have been as bad back then.
What anon above said.
Dennis "Quozl" Falk, a degenerate furfag who saw sexual implications even in most benign scenes in children's cartoons, infamous for sending letters to the studio that worked on Tiny Toons, expressing his sexual feelings towards Fifi and Babs in them, and for stalking Tress McNeille. It is rumored that he's the reason why TTA got cancelled.
The reason for TTA's cancellation was probably because the studio wanted to focus more on Animaniacs, but yeah, Falk didn't help.
but what about Swat Kats?
No. I knew the creators themselves, and I can say that it had nothing to do with Ted Turner. The show was cancelled for two main factors:
1. Season 2 cost over 1 million dollars per episode. In fact, Season 2 was literally half of Hanna-Barbera's total budget in 1994. The quality shows, but the series was too high-maintenance to keep going.
2. The merchandizing tie-ins failed miserably by a toy company that had no clue WTF they were doing.
There was a plan to produce a Swat Kats movie, financed by Dodi Fayed, but he had that little boo-boo with Princess Di in 1997 and that was that.
You mean the toys that got released rather late in the show's run, and got very little marketing, advertising, or store-distribution, meaning very few people even knew about them in order to buy them... you mean those toys?
Yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying.
Similar thing called GLTAS
The folks at Animaniacs DID get some revenge on Falk when they put out the skit titled "The Please Please Please Get A Life Foundation.
The writing staff hardly had to do anything more than scour the newsgroup rec.arts.cartoons and pick out the most boneheaded posts by Real-Life Fanboys posting there, which of course included Falk's retarded rantings.
Now, hold on, Green Lantern's case was a bit different. Yes, there was hardly any marketing for the merchandise; however, you neglect to consider the disaster that was the movie, and all the unsold merchandise for it. Stores didn't want to stock Green Lantern stuff after how badly the movie turned out, lest they get stuck with ANOTHER veritable mountain of unsold toys.
>you neglect to consider the disaster that was the movie, and all the unsold merchandise for it. Stores didn't want to stock Green Lantern stuff after how badly the movie turned out, lest they get stuck with ANOTHER veritable mountain of unsold toys.
Yeah, I know.
I said similar, not identical.
Why can't the show be done in that style?
Toys are never accurate anyways.
It varies per episode.
I'd think that there's something about Callie's breast, hip, waist, leg ratio. Its complimentary enough that even though she has bumps like a truck her bits don't appear disproportionate to the rest of her.
>over 1 million dollars per episode
That's pretty common for animation. Not Hanna Barbara mind you but still common.
Ironically, cost cutting advances have made production roughly numerically the same save for inflation.
if word is right and the reboot they were planning on doing featured cel-shaded CG it might cut down the cost by a good fourth. Or making it shoot sky-high, considering what bullshit trying to get good CG these days costs.
Little Known Trivia Fact: In the early incarnation of Swat Kats, their liason with the Megakat City Govt. was an enforcer named "Kathy". For some reason or another, the character ended up being split up into two characters: Callie and Felina.
Also (and you probably guessed this long ago), but Commander feral was inspired by the Colonel from Akira.
Once you see something as a fetish it's hard to see it as anything else. Which is why every review of "Dust: An Elysian Tale" began with some variation of "I don't want to admit it but this Furry game is really good..."
Furries essentially killed their own fandom in the public eye which is sort of tragic really.
The main problem about furries is that they seem to have a dysfunctional part of their brains where things would normally be telling them "Dude, this is wrong! Stop doing that!".
Even furries don't like other furries. The people who fursuit are a minority and most of the people interested in furry are there for the porn. Look at /co/, there's all kind of love for sexy anthros, but the same people still dislike the lifestyle idiots in the fandom.
I'd say in my experience most furies are fairly benign people, though the fursuit crowd tends to have very little self awareness. Granted comic book cosplay up until the late 90s/early 00s wasn't much better. If only they could attract a younger female crowd...
Very little, but what few glimpses the public gets aren't pretty. I remember a friend who got an angry call after that furry-themed CSI episode aired and had to explain that furry conventions weren't raging fursuit orgies.
But they *are* raging fursuit orgies.
apparently when they interviewed members of the fandom for research and such on the episode they were shown areas where people talked about anthro characters and such and when there were people in fursuits it wasn't an orgy.
The people working on the show decided to go for the orgy for ratings.
Wasn't there a movie or something else about the fandom before that?
Well this was during the period where CSI was really leaning on the "random fetish of the week tied to this week's murder case."
I can't really think of too many other cases of the fandom popping up in pop culture save for a throwaway gag about Carl wearing a squirrel suit in an episode of Phineas & Ferb.
Nice spin, but here's what really happened.
CSI invites some fursuiters to fill up spaces at the "PAFcon" scene during the shoot. Furfags started making demands for changes in the script as if they actually had any power in Hollywood. Director tells these nobodies that these scripts have been approved by the studio AND the network and will be filmed as written. If they don't like it then they can just leave.
All cons are, do you know how much sex people get in SDCC? There is a reason so many people cosplay about shit they dont really like, its just a way to show skin and scream "im moderately attractive and im looking for other moderately attractive people to do some hardcore crossover action"
Fursuits kinda get in the way of that. If they got fit as fuck and used skin tight fabric instead of mascot suits they'll actually look like they're not just taking what they can get.
>Callie has to bind her chest when wearing certain business suits
>Otherwise if she tries to bend down for anything she might've dropped her buttons pop out
I have to say, about 90% of the problem i have with Fursuits is they look like mascot/cartoon characters.
If people had suits which i'd call "movie quality" i.e. tighter, more realistic looking. I might think they were kind of neat.
Then again, from what i hear a lot of them like it bulky so they can hide their actual figure.
remember the animaniacs episode about the please-please-please-get-a-life-foundation ?
Yeah, that was a mockery of those obsessing with the shows on a unhealthy level.
most likely including those who sent letters to the editors/artists on how they masturbated to the characters
>The main problem about furries is that they seem to have a dysfunctional part of their brains where things would normally be telling them "Dude, this is wrong! Stop doing that!".
they seem a lot less public about it now. their fandom seems to be in a very cynical, self-aware phase. or something. they're not as bad as they were in the mid-2000s.
>Will we never see another cartoon with anthromorphic characters because of furries?
What about Regular Show? Or Sonic Boom?
Plus Disney is making Zootopia; if it's successful, you better believe we'll be seeing more anthro characters coming down the pike.
In Bojack's case I think that's kind of the point; he's a washed up former star, and anthro cartoons are a former fad. Given the time frame he could've easily been one of the Swat Kats contemporaries.
That's really a problem with cosplay in general.
About 90% of everything is going to be terrible.
I enjoy both, but I'm one of those "just here for the porn" people so take that with a grain of salt.
I'm cool with this
Love that one. It's very nice to see more on-model-ish animu Callie fanart, most of what's out there doesn't really appeal to me for some reason.
ah yes, i still remember the thread that inspired that pic
something about girls under 35 kilos of gear and armor strapped that gets to me
oh shit a new drawfag has come to save us from oblivion
If you drew that, great work!
Are you taking Callie-related requests?
>Captcha- fiedeyrty increased
i always disliked this model sheet. Her face is wonky as hell and the proportions are way off with anything you'd see in the show.
if this is what they sent to the japanese animators it's no wonder they took all those liberties.
not at all. Her face is not as long, her chin is less far forward, her eyes rest lower on her face, and most of all, her forehead isn't squared off.
i'm checking right now and she actually doesn't. Closest is when she loses her helmet in 'When strikes Mutilor'
picture attached. They altered the model too since she doesn't have quarterback shoulders and the hips of an 11-years old boy.
manchin also went on and off. Maybe she stopped doing anabolics.
In the same vein, what about Green Skinned Alien Babes?
People went NUTS over green skinned alien babes in things like Mass Effect. Pretty much everywhere they show up, really. Zero shits are given about them, and they're pretty much expected in most science fiction media now. Some of them are pretty damned bizzare waifu material and don't get WTF responses proportional to just how WTF it is. Frankly, I think my favorite parody of this is the little romance in Galaxy Quest with the squid alien.
Yet something like Callie from Swat Cats is somehow impossibly perverted because it's just associated with furry. It's just a cat ears + tail human with a mutant nose... and the low-key nose is essentially just an anime nose. Even the furrier furries are still less perverted by most logic, but considered even more taboo.
OP I think it's just the majority-mob's fault of having a very short focus and memory. Furries took a mantle in the limited space of the public's mind before other shit could take it. Go check out BioWare forums some time, and that's just the tip of only one popular iceberg.
Don't blame the perverts, blame the public for having nothing but dirty minds and stereotypes.
Well, we do think she is of the same bloodline as the ruling monarchy predating the city.
So her being born on the high end of the social ladder seems pretty likely.
If I was a little bolder and less sober I'd email the Tremblay brothers and ask them.
So what you're saying is that all those Victorian whores and floozies I saw at that steam punk convention were actually real life whores and floozies?
Also that apparently we as a society have projected all our debauchery onto the face crowd of fursuitters?
i like to believe that her family line along with several other important heralds were nobles that slowly lost power and relevance to the bourgeoise classes and ended up blending in with the common folk
...and that ending up in her position was her own instinct and ambition rather than a family thing.
In my experience top people tend to stay there. Even if they don't stay rich they tend to stay at the top of whatever social tier they lands in.
So upper middle class at worst.
>you will never pilot the Turbokat with Callie
Fuck this world
>You will never be a meek office nobody who gets a brief chance every now and then to bring Callie a filefolder and dream about chatting her up one day in between her adventures with the Swat Kats, and you're ok with that because you like just being able to see her be the career woman she was born to be, from the sidelines.
>This also extends to the obnoxious bronies who coined the term and stuff.
The bronies coined the term here, and it had nothing to do either with the sexual side or the "hugbox" side /mlp/ likes to whine about. If anything it was balanced.
somehow I'd now like to see all of the known swat cat women in mini sweater dresses.
like the kind of mini sweater dress that Lana from Archer occasionally wears, although maybe minus that big belt.
It's the most 90's thing you'll see in ages, but it's great
>Search Callie on
>Literally nothing good
Color me surprised
Where can I find anything Swat Kats that wasn't drawn by a fourteen year old.
>The main problem about ____________ is that they seem to have a dysfunctional part of their brains where things would normally be telling them "Dude, this is wrong! Stop doing that!".
You can say that about literally everyone you disagree with, and most of the time it's crap because the little voice that says "this is wrong" is mostly taught, not inborn. They say the same about you too.
Go ahead and hate, but at least try to be self-aware about it.
I'm making a larger point here, it's not about me.
Sorry, dats da way it works
Prolly one of these
woooo all my requests
if anyone could animate this with Callie though
Postan a WIP
wasn't sure what OR meant by "locker scene", but I think I have it
She's too bad
OR here, you have it. Please, do go on.
Shoot, I gotta hit the sack ,guys.
Don't worry. You'll get Felina Vasquez tomorrow if the thread is still up.
>work at a desk in the Capital building
>in a cubicle near Callies
>look over every day and see her dangling her heels
>stare at her soles and flexing toes
>she does this every damn day all day
>can't stop looking
It's fucking torture
>yfw the megakat city hall tower has reinforced blast doors
it's the little things
>tfw Callie is best friends with your mom
>regularly comes over after work
>she slips off her heels at the door and your mother and her talk in the kitchen over coffee
>sneak over and smell her heels
A few times a week
The glass is bullet proof and there are shutters in the ceiling that can drop down anyway.
However whenever there isn't a terrorist attack or anything I just sit there with a boner all day watching her feet
also her desk computer is an Amiga. Figure she doesn't use it very often, after all, her primary job is doing everything the mayor is too coward/lazy/incompetent to do downtown.
>Hawaiian girl in coding class
>She is decent body, kinda small
>always takes off shoes and flexes toes nonstop
>rests them sometimes on my boots.
>literally on the verge of just pinning her down and giving her a piece of my mind.
>There's gotta be more Callie feet fag pics out there...
Surprisingly I haven't found much. Even Mirage has more.
I have a boner and need release. I'm sorry.
>Thats interesting has this been happing often
Pretty much since I started last year. It's every day. She always does it, I think it's just a personality quirk. Maybe she needs more comfortable shoes... but I kind of like it. I can't say anything else I'd be weird...
i feel sorry for you
You think I should offer? I know she's single. We get lunch together pretty often and of-course are often both in the office together after hours trying to finish work.
Maybe I'll just that she's always kicking her heels off so they must be uncomfortable... and make her feet hurt.
Or would that make me come across as a creep?
are you a bad enough dude to dwelve into the depths of a 20-years old show's fanart archives?
Maybe I should write one. I think I will. I'll share it with /co/ when I do.
>I say go for it you never know until you try and I wouldnt think she woud think your a creep you just want her to feel better.
Alright then! I'm gonna try it tomorrow then. I know we're both gonna be staying a bit late.
Wish me luck!
Now lets not be to hasty I mean im sure the mayor would love to see these videos of you lollygagging on the job and skipping work its not like he cant find another secretary or watever is that you do.
*throws a pot of stale coffee on her*
*runs off with her high heels in the confusion, vanishing into the night*
Well. Life is all about change. I'll move to a new city. Get a new job. However I'll always have her high heels to ravish... and the memories.
>Do you get flustered when you see barefoot girls at the pool?
No, but I miss my old job working at a theme park in a gift shop. So many cute girls would come in during the summer in flop flops, sandals, or flats... Sometimes they'd come in to buy a new pair of flip flops because their sandals or whatever broke... and they'd give them to me to throw away...
Uhm. Excuse me. Sorry about that.
I want to commission some art, but I can't decide who to pic.
It's Colossalfaggot from /tg/ / Mr-Culexus from Deviantart if I remember right. I'm trying to find it in his gallery now, but I can't find it.
>Cool man if thread gets deleated where will you post.i have some ideas but I dont know if the thread will survive.
Find me on deviant art.
PM me there.
Lots of college chicks on Spring Break
I don't want to rewatch the series and cap everytime someone bites it.
But part of me does.
i went through the series a few times and i lost count at around a hundred.
at least a dozen people die per episode, and if you put the SHTF episodes like the mutant flood, the alien invasion and the kaiju attacks under some scrutiny you'd easily have hundreds of killed, maimed and heavily wounded.
even if you extend the time frame between episodes, it's mindblowing that the city still stands.
OPPS, I'M A COLOSSAL FAGGOT, it's the Fucklaw guy.
holy shit this guy had done a lot of art i recognize, what other names does he go with?
I don't really know if Gannadene goes by other names..... Just looked him up on 1d4chan and found their list of old drawfags and found out he has a Youtube, maybe the guy asking if it was "plague" might have been spot on and I just didn't know his second handle.
He was talking about the pic I'm gonna commission from g.f.d, not your story. I was thinking it was either gonna be her on her back rubbing a cock with her feet, or her standing over a dude rubbing his cock with her foot. Still haven't decided yet, so I am open to suggestions
What does it matter? It doesn't change anything.
Everybody still draws whatever they want. All loli artists are still accepting loli commissions. They just don't post them on HF anymore.
Too bad for HF.
Same here, what the fuck. Pretty sure I watched this show while I was in puberty too and was a freak even back then into weird shit.
And somehow I missed Callie's huge cattits. Either the show really was just that good with its action and story, distracting us enough to even realize it or... Something, shit I dunno.
I see this and I start to get a secret plot deep vibe.
Damnit I remember having my first little kid crush over a girl on this show. I must have been 4/5 when It was originally on air. I had a total weirdkidboner for the robot cat girl villain.
FINALLY back home.
Putting up the frames was a sinch. Just gotta lay the characters over.
BTW, note to OR, do you want the background characters to be kats, anons, original movie characters, or what? I'm not so good with kats, but it's your choice.
oh, i do believe i have a case of the vapors....
I legit hate Swat Cats because it's a boring, poorly written show, but I LOVE the art. All that shading. It just looks cool. I imagine a Hellboy cartoon series would look similar.
if the world is only composed of Megakat City and the rest of the world is barren, or if there's any other settlements and even other animal species, and if Megakat city is segregated from all other locales so it's only cats.
Also, why T-Bone and Razor go barefoot when in their Swat Kats uniforms instead of keeping their boots on to complete their uniform.
...and if Swat Kats was revived, if we'd have any foot-related fanservice with the ladies.
Are the similarities with judge dredd l an intentional homage? What's the true nature of the enforcers, an overgrown police or a legit military? What does he think of all the fan theories surrounding the world of the show? Does he wish they could have shown humans in the Mutilor episode like originally intended?
Was he involved in the fanbase before? How does he think it has changed? How will swat kats appeal to the new audiences?
>...and if Swat Kats was revived, if we'd have any foot-related fanservice with the ladies.
nigga is u srs
but seriously, that makes you look like
That guy (a little)
This is coming from someone who likes that kind of thing
>What's the true nature of the enforcers, an overgrown police or a legit military
I would guess it's a militarized police because we never really see the military and there is somewhat of a military industrial complex going on as Megacatcity is churning out wonder weapons out for seemingly no military purpose.
>expecting fetish freaks to show any kind of meassure or self control
I was thinking more in the sense of their role and relationship with the population, i guess it's relevant nowadays that the militarization of police is an item for debate in America.
Ellaborating in the last point, if the show had been given two more seasons to develop, where would their creative vision have taken them, and how different is that vision 20 years into the future?
I think i would compare it a little to the judges
I cannot believe legs have fallen out of style as a fetish when art like this exists.
OR here, just turned on my computer.
you are the most based of baseds.
