Out of curiousity do any nonlouisianabros here have experiences?
Pretty common occurrence in east Texas. I'm sure you can guess why.
I live in NJ, but one of my uncles did his residency down in New Orleans, so he's really into crawfish boils. Whenever he hosts parties or goes camping, he pretty much cooks up something very similar to OP's picture.
It took me a while to get used to how to eat the crawfish as a kid, but ever since I've loved them. I'd love to go to one in Louisiana one day.
Don't recall ever having a crawfish boil. But every autumn we do several clambakes, which is a pretty similar preparation.
