Out of curiousity do any nonlouisianabros here have experiences?
>>
>>7372536

>>
>>7372536
Crawfish parties are somewhat common in Finland and Scandinavia. Toast, crawfish, schnapps.

Shit's great.
>>
>>7372587
No that's incorrect

Pretty common occurrence in east Texas. I'm sure you can guess why.

Sweden makes it into a party.
>>
>>7372594
U wot m8? Kräftskiva is a very old tradition in Sweden.
>>
>>7372689
It's not real it's incorrect
>>
Done this in the UK, we'd catch them ourselves too.
We have a huge problem with invasive North American Signal crayfish so they are up for grabs.
>>
>>7372692
Oh really? Prove it then.
>>
I moved from the gulf in Texas to North Florida, and I haven't been able to find decent crawfish around here.

I miss it.
>>
>>7372701
Proof: you're gay and swedish and incorrect
>>
>>7372711
Kek, you're a fucking retard.
>>
>>7372698
Also incorrect
>>
I live in NJ, but one of my uncles did his residency down in New Orleans, so he's really into crawfish boils. Whenever he hosts parties or goes camping, he pretty much cooks up something very similar to OP's picture.

It took me a while to get used to how to eat the crawfish as a kid, but ever since I've loved them. I'd love to go to one in Louisiana one day.
>>
>>7372753
There's no hidden secret to it. You can host one in your back yard and it would be just as authentic as one in Baton Rouge - minus the music, swamps and thick accents.

>>
done a crab boil a few times but never crawfish
>>
>>7372536
>coastal Virginia
-Chesapeake bay blue shell crab boils
>Georgia, Florida, Texas
-Crawdad boils

Good times.
>>
>be allergic to shellfish
>go to friends place for super bowl
>have crawfish boil
>no other food
>have to order pizza and people stare.
>>
>>7372536
Where I come from, crawfish are called crawdads and they are not considered fit to be eaten. They are disgusting vermin that dwell in creeks and streams.
>>
>>7373650
They call things them different names in different states so you're basically on per with Europe.
>>
>>7372711
Why are you even here?
>>
>>7373655
I guess so. I'll never eat a snail, though.
>>
>>7373627
>having friends
that's what you get.
>>
>>7373714
I think it depends on social class, growing up we'd BBQ grey squirrels because fuck grey squirrels they kill trees (and red squirrels).
>>
>>7372536
Sorry bro but the ultimate family/friend outing event related to food is a pig pickin'.
>>
North Florida here. Not the most common party food, but when it's done it's amazing.
>>
Crab boil. Charleston, SC.
Food of the gods.

Don't recall ever having a crawfish boil. But every autumn we do several clambakes, which is a pretty similar preparation.

This guy speaks the troof.
>>
>>7373787
