I don't open anything over 1mb on principle, which is annoying sometimes as a thumbnail can be very tempting.

I'm an Android poster and also has this problem. Mainly because it's hard as shit to save images now when you're on a mobile. Google Image Search decided to be a fucking faggot, and when you search for images you can't click for a direct link to the image anymore, it forces you to go to the web page it's been indexed from. So sometimes if I the page is down or formatted shittily, I'll just open the direct preview pic from Google's cache which saves as "image.jpg"
