I have the picture related bottle of saffron. The scent fills my entire spice cabinet so it should be legit. I tried grinding it up and adding it to rice but I can't taste much difference from rice sans saffron. I use 10-20 stigmas. Am I doing anything wrong?

The only real draw to it is that it's really difficult to harvest and process.

It's not really worth doing a lot with it.

how long did you let it sit? usually the longer the more flavor is extracted. if you take a simple stock and add a few strands, and let it simmer for a while, the flavor is very noticeable, with rice, try cooking the rice with it next time to allow more extraction
