When I was in Bali a few years ago, I went to one of the places where they keep the poor rat-things and force them to eat the coffee beans.
It looked awful for the rat-things and the end result is shit coffee. Truly the worst luxury item I've ever seen.

I got a bag of shit coffee for Xmas, was interesting.

Tasted like any mediocre, old coffee. the stuff I had was quite stale but there was no date on the bag so who knows.

Most of the stuff they sell in those rat-thing farms was roasted god knows when and ground into dust about 3 months ago, though.

I had the Free range in a Marriot in Surabaya. It was actually really good

I was on a farm on our bali honeymoon and had a cup of fresh kopi luwak. It was $3, which was a good laugh as in switzerland a coffee is usually about $4.

The cats look like honey badgers. They are set free each evening to eat coffee beans and shit them out everywhere. they return back into their dens and the farmers go pick the shit up and let it dry. they crush the dry shitpiles and pick the beans out. they are roasted and crushed, not washed as far as I could see. the point is, that the bitterness of coffee is gone. so yeah, it may taste like stale coffee.

I might try it if you're calling my masculinity into question but other than that I doubt id like it.
