Im so tired of eating salty or sweet foods.
Im on an island where your choices are chinese food, burgers, pizza and the occasional fish.
What can I do to improve my diet?
What island?

Cook your own food. Use a lot of vinegar, lemon, or bitter melon if you don't want it sweet or salty.

Stop being a fucking faggot
great thread

Cook your own shit,m. Only thing that irritates me more than pretending healthy food doesn't exist is acting like you want healthy food and acting like you can't find any so you're coerced into a bad diet.

Not OP here. It's different on a equatorial island, I know from experience. Bread doesn't last but a day or two before getting moldy from the humidity. Even on the store shelves, bread and pastas get moldy. It doesn't help that all the grocery workers are brown people who don't understand basic food sanitation, like the fact that mold is bad. That leaves rice as about the only available shelf stable carb.
Also, fruits and vegetables are shipped in from the mainland. That means they're all mushy and gross. You can go to a farmer's market, but those are one day a week on my island. And half the food is mainland food being sold as locally grown.
So carbs, fruits and veggies are difficult. What about meats? Those are shipped in from the mainland too. They're not so bad actually though, since meats freeze fine. The best meat is going to be local fish, which is cheap and fresh. But OP is rightly sick of that. However he doesn't have many options.
