for pieces like costume808 (http://bodyline.jp/en/costume808.html), what are the sizes like? All that's in stock are a 6l and an 8l. They both sound quite large, would either fit a us s/m?

Those fit an 88/96 cm waist respectively. Take a measuring tape and measure your waist and see the difference. You should always, always, ALWAYS do this when shopping online, especially with Bodyline. Their sizing letters are not consistent across different products. They have 4Ls that fit a 72cm waist max and 2L that fit a 90cm waist. Likewise, US brands also do not have consistent sizing. One store's L is another one's S. I am tempted to say that the skirts might be too big on you but you can't tell unless you measure and get the actual numbers.

During one of the sales before the site's big redesign, I got a couple pleated skirts for nanchatte and they're really nice but they're slightly too tight on me. I can put them on but they're too tight to be worn comfortably. Is there anything I can do to extend the waistbands on them? They're the skirts like pic related.

They should have an adjustable waistband, anon. It's that strap where you secure the clasp, you can loosen or tighten it. If it's fully maxed out then all I can suggest is pulling the skirt up higher on your waist?

If you don't know how to adjust the waistband, I have that same style of skirt in grey and can take some photos as a guide?

I extended the waistband all I could. It's just sliiightly too tight to be worn comfortably, even high up on my waist. I'm skinnyfat and pear-shaped so I knew there was a chance the skirts wouldn't fit but maybe there's some way I can further extend the waistband?

Also, I have seen people wear it without a blouse, it is under 'dress' after all. It does lessen the overall 'lolita' feel tho, makes it seem more 50's/retrogirly/otome.

I think that style should work because of the puff sleeve, but the offwhite color may not since the dress has bright, stark whites.
