I'll review most of everything, I will also take a photo swimming with everything hah.
I'm also using SpreeNow. They have higher shipping rates but the customer service is A+ so imo it's worth it.
For those of you who still want fukubukuros, BoBon21 just released their LPs.
I fell in love with this wedding invitation. I checked several taobao shops, but all of them are sold out. I did a reverse google search and found an aliexpress link, but it's almost 3x more than it is in taobao. If it sold out on taobao, does that mean it's sold out everywhere and this is a scam? The aliexpress shop has a 91% approval rating which seems low.
I asked customer service but they couldn't really give me an answer. What is the difference between these shipping options?
Hi everyone. I'm sorry if my question is really stupid, I've never used Taobao before.
I can speak Chinese semi-fluently. I was wondering, could I message a seller and ask them if they would ship an item to the US so I wouldn't have to go through a shopping service? Will any sellers do this if you communicate with them in Chinese?
Awesome, I'll message a few sellers then. I've seen some of them take Visa and also ship USPS. Is this a good indication they would be willing to ship to the US?
Do I need to create a taobao account to be able to do this?
Was it a pretty smooth transaction for you? I apologize for all the questions. Like I mentioned, I'm very new to taobao. Thank you!
when i've gotten the cheapest one from spreenow, it only took a week to be delivered which shocked me.
no point in buying the super expensive ones t b h, the cheapest ships fast anyways.
If you have an email address for them you can just message them directly to place an order, otherwise you need a Taobao account to message them. This post in EGL talks about it, though it's a bit outdated. http://egl.livejournal.com/17987707.html
The last time I did it was with Fantasysheep, I think. Everything went well, the person they had handling their email had good enough English for us to be able to communicate. Got my stuff after about a month and a half, so pretty normal turnaround time for Taobao.
I found a store that sells sumikko gurashi and one that sells swimmer stuff, so I went a little crazy. The shell compact, rabbit comb and the white swan comb are gifts
Anyone know any good stores to buy figmas/figurines from?
I only found one in the store spreadsheet (I might have missed some though)
Also, does anyone know what to search for to find Hyperdimention neptunia stuff?
I wasn't wondering about the term though, I was asking if anyone knew about any good stores that sell decent quality figmas, since some stores sell really badly made and wonky ones.
There's no need to be salty
This is my order so far. I'm getting multiples of some of them as they make nice filler gifts too.
So TaobaoSpree use to be my service of choice, but now they have an online store
I still emailed Cici with my order, but I'm nervous because Cici is the only one that replied, and usually I get a reply from one of her agents.
Is TaobaoSpree still good, or have they gone downhill?
Didn't say I expected it to be top notch, but there are some that's better and some that's worse
I've bought some from aliexpress and they've turned out ok
I'm just asking if anyone has bought from a specific store that was maybe better that average bootleg.
If you can't/don't want to help, no problem. I'm just asking in case anyone felt like helping
I already ordered the shirt on aliexpress, but what taoabo store sells this shirt?
I never found it, but I'm sure there's a store on taobao if they're selling on aliexpress
It's on sale right now, but the sale ends tomorrow
Anyone have any personal favorite flower shops that aren't on the spreadsheet? I've loaded up on huge summery flowers but feel like I should ask before checking out.
This (should) be my last big haul for a while. I'm especially excited to receive the ouji sets, because they're gifts for my SO. It might take a while to get the white one though, because it's a preorder.
Latest order, everything came through except that pink bag, I got the link off of an anon on here and ordered it, waited forever and eventually asked SS to message seller and whoops out of stock ? oh well.
Sure! It might take a while to get to me though, because it just got shipped out yesterday. Here's the link: https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=43261801066
Most of the options are sold out though, because this was a preorder.
Not sure which hat you want a link for, so I'll give you links for both of them:
Dark blue bowler:
The last time I checked, these weren't sold out, so the seller might have taken them down just for CNY.
I remember reading somewhere that you can order directly from Lucaille rather than using an ss - has anyone done this before, and how do you go about it? Also do you know if it would be better to order from their website lucaille.com or from their taobao store?
Doge hoodie (there's a coat and skirt set too)
Yeah, it's a papercraft mask as >>8839958 said - they look pretty silly and fun
I decided to try out Buynosaur because they were having a 10% off all orders made during January. So far they've been great to deal with (Really wonderful agents with good English and a sense of humour!) and they're also willing to buy from the secondhand area of Taobao. So far I haven't gotten a quote because they haven't been able to contact all the sellers due to CNY, but they've been very nice about it.
>If you want any links let me know the number next to the picture
>Sorry it's not in order
According to their website the fees are usually 12% for basic and 15% for premium but at the moment they're at 8% and 10%, so I'll most likely go with the premium this time (I'm getting some small handmade things+a secondhand item as well.)
They have the info on their page
No problem Anon
My order is in!
The cat dress is coming in from Ali still because it sold out on taobao.
Great quality, I love it.
Heavier than I expected, it'll be good for colder days.
>Kokokim replica dress
About as good as I expected for the price, it's a light peach instead of pink and the print is that cheap iron-on deal that comes off easy. They sent me a pin with a pikachu on it.
It's alright, same iron-on applique as the dress
They're alright, thin, I was hoping they'd be lined but it's no big deal
I think they sent me a smaller size than what I ordered, it fits fine but I wanted them large. My monkey arms juuuuust fit.
It's pretty good, thick material etc.
Good as socks can be, the purple is darker than you'd expect but not too dark.
It's great, but feels like a cheap sweater?
The material is good and all, and so is the lining, but it's stiff and feels like those sweaters you get at walmart, if that makes sense. Maybe it just needs washed/broke in.
If anyone needs links hit me up, internet is being terrible but I'll link you as soon as I can!
I'm starting to question Taobao's forwarding services.
First a whole kigu disappears and now a single shirt weighs 1.5kg on its own.
I had issues with my last order with them (zhongshan) listing the weight of some items as higher than it actually was. When I contacted them about it, they admitted that the weight was wrong (and gave the correct weight) with no trouble, however I would need to contact them about changing the price during consolidation.
When I did consolidate, I asked them about changing the price, which they did...except the adjusted price still didn't correspond to what the actual total weight should be. I had to pester them again about it, after which they changed the price to something a bit better, but still not the proper weight (total was 5.078 kg or something, so I was prepared to eat the charge for 5.5kg, but the end price I paid was 6 kg worth)
I think I'll still continue using them for now since the only alternative forwarder seems to have mediocre ratings (and only ships UPS to Canada), but if they keep this up, the money saved through forwarding isn't worth it.
Clicking the little face icon for zhongshan keeps making me relog on to Taobao,
I don't think it's a browser issue since I've tried on both chrome and firefox.
Is aliwangwang the only way to contact their consolidation service?
Has anyone bought this OP from Dear Celine? I was wondering if the color is a more yellow-y ivory and if it runs true to measurements.
I thought this was getting pricey until I checked flower prices at hobby lobby. Who do they think they are.
Shouldn't have stalled this close to cny though...
That's the same thing I was wondering. I wanted to see if they were going to offer the matching bow accessory thing as I didn't snag one last time.
Also, has anyone ordered from HMHM lately? I know back in the day they had a rep for being slow af but I'm looking for custom blouses and they have a few I like.
How easy or hard would it be to replicate that cat lingerie set? Is the top just a tube with a cutout?
The original product sizing is too big for me, so I'm considering making it on my own.
My current order! Does anyone know of any good shops with bread-themed items to match the dress?
...IT was a bit high..with DHL $189 but I had $50 on my paypal for selling some old bodyline so it made it less expensive for me. DHL gets to me within like 3 days so its not a big deal .
Awwh great..worst case it sucks I sell it on LM.
Pink and white little booties-
White flat shoes-
Many colors of tea party (theyre good quality and cheap)
White multiple strap heels (many colors again)
Light blue tea parties-
Platform pink heels-
Beret-(They have bunny ear one somewhere)
I was gonna suggest kerakerak/Cake Love maybe but it seems their shop is suddenly almost entirely empty...all i have otherwise are links to that cheap toast backpack that always comes up or a bunch of things listed (annoyingly) exclusively on etsy/aliexpress
also wasnt sure whether to ask here or tumblr, but if your order isnt finalized yet would you potentially be willing to add in one item for a fellow toronto gull if i were to paypal you upfront for all fees plus a bit extra as thank you?
I've been trying to talk myself out of a big order, but there's one cheap chiffon dress i'm terrified of selling out if i wait too long...
Thanks anon for the help!
I downloaded the program, but I couldn't find zhongshan for some reason.
Luckily, I got a message from the taobao seller themselves saying they sent the wrong package, which is why zhongshan weighed it weird.
How were you able to contact zhongshan? Was it through taobao or their wangwang program?
Hey I'll keep an eye on the store, it might just be a CNY thing, thanks! Also if you know it, message me on facebook? I'm doing a group order with some friends, but I don't see an issue with it as long as you're local!
this store is a goldmine
you can find their aliwangwang on the forwarders list (they're 中山EMS)
and I would contact them and try to explain as best you can what occurred, because otherwise they might just confused and/or misplace the replacement item the shop is sending back out to you. I had a zhongshan horror story in one of the earlier threads where I got sellers to ship out missing items, only for zhongshan to be all "????" even though they had clearly received the replacements and had signed off on them. eventually had to just give up and tell them to send everything else and forego including the missing items in my order, because they could not be assed to figure out what happened to them.
messaged you! i only got my facebook less than a month ago and pretty much exclusively use it for comm/con stuff, so drop me an email if it doesn't go through? might end up in your message requests or something idk
So, have people here actually used Buynosaur?
I see almost nothing about it online, but I don't want to use taobaoring or bihner, and my old favorite shopping service is seeming iffy this time around
Any good experiences with them?
>8841076 here. I'm using them at the moment and so far they're the friendliest SS I've ordered from (The picture shows some of my communications with them.) Things are on hold with them for a bit because most of Taobao is off for CNY but I'll keep updating here with their process.
Thank you! I'll definitely keep that in mind.
I ended up giving up and issuing a refund instead of a return because of new years and I didnt really want to mess anymore with stuff i barely understood.
Pretty much what all anons say. Their language is very good, their communication is friendly, respectful yet has enough room for a joke from time to time. They're also very responsive to questions, although I don't know if they can keep up that level of communication in busier periods, or once they start getting more famous.
They were also very punctual to let me know that my seller, who originally said they'd send my things out before CNY, changed their mind.
The only thing there's left to review is actually receiving my order, but if that's also okay, they've got me hooked.
So we both have good taste!
Just wondering if anyone could clarify for me about info on a deposit page.
Is this saying that if they don't meet the minimum orders then you don't get your deposit back? Or what? I couldn't really make out what the conditions were. I think the second line is that they don't accept returns or exchanges for accessories? The last line is that 20 is the minimum? Stuck on the very last part, when in the year are they planning to manufacture/ship out..?
I've never ordered from taobao before and while I have everything sorted out, I don't really know what the "VIP" tag means and if I can still order the product.
I'm talking about stuff like this.
>We will not return deposits for people who do not follow up on their payments, don't want the clothes anymore, etc.
>Clothing made with custom measurements cannot be returned
>20 constitute a group, samples will be shipped out after the new year (probably lunar).
I'm not 100% sure about the last line, my chinese is a bit rusty.
Not sure if these were posted, but found them going up to size 44. Can't voucher the quality though.
I stuck with the spreadsheet flower shops because so many other sellers didn't specialize in flowers or craft stuff so I didn't trust that their flowers would actually look decent.
Most of them are from here
Some other flowers plus the vines and topiary balls are from this one
VIP price just means that if you (or an SS) has VIP status with the shop, usually from buying some X amount of stuff within a year or whatever, you get the discounted price. you can still buy items with the VIP tag without having VIP status, you just pay more.
pleased read the FAQ in the OP if this is your first time ordering, it goes over VIP pricing and lots of other basic things.
can't find much, either. maybe it's CNY closures.
https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=525273308566 (shop has more basic bread shaped earrings)
https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=18080335402 (seems like there are usually more options for barette/pin versions but they're sold out? shop has other baked goods though)
Panicking. This one shop out of all the others I ordered from has still not sent me my stuff and the receipt automatically confirms itself soon.
How do I file complaint / request refund etc?
I sent a message in broken Chinese but have never received a reply.
Shame too, since it seems like only they have the item I want. I was willing to give it a chance since it seemed like a new shop but I guess I was asking for it.
Sorry anon! It was a preorder and it closed a while ago. They might have some left over stock once they finish making it though.
Black Heel (I actually ordered the brown ones lol)
Click on the links shown in step #2 there. Use chrome to translate the drop down options to request a refund. There should be one for item did not arrive. It's actually really simple, you don't need to write anything yourself. Alipay will make a decision in 2 days. It is pretty much always in the buyer's favor.
When would be the best time to order after CNY? Like maybe February 20th or so? I know that different stores come back at different times, but I just want to avoid the annoying mess that usually comes with them coming back from CNY.
CNY is February 8th and about 100,000 people in the factory areas are stranded due to bad weather just trying to get to their family homes so who knows how many more are stranded for the same reason in different areas. I would think that would effect when people return (at least shop owners who can afford extra days) and if the situation now is like when everyone will be rushing back to the cities, it's going to cause some delays then too.
tl;dr I'd wait until the last week of February in case weather/mass travel delays people coming back and once they do get back a lot of them who sell via other platforms like ebay and amazon on top of taobao will be swamped trying to catch up with international orders along with Taobao orders.
So spreenow is like buychina (where they're a direct reseller you only need to pay them once?) Is it cheaper to use spreenow or use a TB agent? It
s been a few years since I made my last taobao order.
You mean is it cheaper to use a 3rd party (non-taobao) forwarding service or use a shopping service?
Technically it's cheaper to use a forwarding service since you're only paying for international shipping instead of that plus a service fee for them doing the ordering for you.
But, it comes down to whether or not those few extra dollars are worth the hassle of having to make a Taobao account, talk to sellers directly, and not have your items inspected before they're sent out.
The only blue things I got were blue tea parties, and a blue bunny headband.
Buynosaur order came! Shipping was estimated to be 7-14 days and it's just a few days shy of the max estimate. Everything arrived fine despite tracking not working once it left Hong Kong which I figured would be the case.
Overall I'm super pleased because the whole process they were amazingly helpful and patient with all my questions and the few errors that happened along the way where their paypal invoice for me didn't show all the fees I had to pay so I paid what it requested which was just for the item fees and not their fee or domestic shipping and they happily waived the fees for me until my items arrived and I paid them then. So yeah, they paid out of pocket for my items instead of making me wait until their system was fixed so I wouldn't have to wait another day or two to get my items bought.
my order from 11/11
If anyone wants sauce and reviews:
(I know the collages suck.)
'tis called cringe comedy.
And yes earlier in my Instagram I was confused about what was in/what makes certain fashions (Such as Mori girl, and larme kei)
I think I have a better understanding now. Also
doing Mori girl in the summer is pretty hard.
Oh that is a beautiful wedding invite.
I see them going for $80 -143 for 50 of them on Aliexpress.
Personally I'd go for it. I think that $1.60-2.86 per invite is reasonable.
Candy Rain is doing random fukubukuro packs costing 199, 299, and 399 yuan.
Fuck, I realized that I'm way too tate to make an order with Taobaoring, Does anyone know a Taobao shipping service that can accept orders right now? or can I just buy directly in Taobao?
I've tried using google translate and I know it isn't covered in the dictionary, but what would the best term be to search for a duvet cover on taobao? I don't want a full bedding set, just a cover, maybe some shams.
Organizing the order with >>8843398 - and twinning the bread dresses!
The struggle is very real though finding cute croissant/bread hair accessories. Does anyone know of any good/affordable etsy's with some?
Unfortunately the other bunny items are out of stock!
Depending on how lax your definition of affordable is, I'd reccommend qminishop, OnceAponACookieTreat, or dollfoodminiatures. Mintmarbles has a cute ring that was posted in the bread thread too. And found some really cute/realistic baguette earrings too, but they're like $35 CAD
Two more non-etsy recommendations too:
marisan.petit.cc (japanese, but it's a shop literally dedicated to bread-related products. if you saw the bread beret/earmuffs/purse from the bread thread, they were both originally from here)
Really? That's odd because they replied to my email yesterday. Which address did you send it to? Also if you submitted a quotation it does take a day or so to get a reply since they contact the shops first before they contact you and given that it's CNY it's probably taking longer to get a response.
Huh, that's weird. They might just be busy since it sounds like people are swarming to them now. Either that or their contact form is busted.
Send them a direct email to [email protected]
Sorry if this has been asked, but does anyone know if Ascos/Ascosing restocks their sizes?? I've been dying inside because they don't have my size for Eli Ayase's Seven Lucky Goddess set and just wanna know if I should give up now ;;
I really need some help.
I love this dress and I would like to pre-order it. However, this will be my first taobao order and I'm afraid I'll mess up and something will go wrong.
Am I better off ordering from Clobba?
They marked it up to 62 bucks and I would like to save that money if I can.
Has anyone here ordered cotton fabric? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but about how much does it weigh to ship per meter/how much does it cost? I found a shipping calculator but I don't have a way to weigh the fabric I already own and I'm getting different numbers from a google search.
Oh my goodness, i'm so sorry anon, I just realised that literally everything is sold out right now due to the influx of internet attention recently. If you want to bookmark the online item list to stalk in future it's here: https://minne.com/marisan
In the meantime, look at this beautiful bread headband (breadband?) that might have been...
Just found a shop that has yankee/biker style uniforms!
Looking into buying my first wig and since I'm making a haul from taobao anyway, I was wondering if anyone had any reccomendations of stores they really liked or such. Not looking for anything fancy, really just a curly medium length light brown wig.
I'm looking for cosplay stuff from Miraculous Ladybug / Chat Noir. Does anyone know the chinese words for it? Google translate fails me unfortunately.
I've used Zhongshan several times, but the biggest issue is that they use DHL, which is more likely to get checked by customs (that happened with my recent order) I ordered a bunch of anime clothing lucky pack stuff, it was ok in the sense that I would wear most of the stuff despite being eh on the series (SAO) but the design of it was ok, but I'm surprised that the LP for a kawaii shop was so disappointing besides surprise clear messenger bag. Plus a wtf sweatshirt that had nothing to do with anime?
>tfw you can only spend CNY filling up your carts in preparation for post-CNY and then stare at the contents of the cart for two weeks and hope they don't sell out
Does anyone use the taobao app for iPhone? I'm trying to figure out how to search by new. Like on the desktop version I can sort by new listings when I'm searching but I can't for the life of me find this option on the app version. Does it exist?
If you use a shopping service where you submit the cart for 'processing' (where they usually message the seller or check stock + sale prices first) then they can change it to the full amount before you pay. Spreenow and bhiner do it this way iirc.
So what are some of everyone's favorite taobao suggestion blogs? I'm waiting for CNY to end so I'm looking to add some more cute shit to my cart. I've exhausted the spreadsheet and taobao reviews a while ago, though... So I'm looking for more cute stuff!
How long does Chinese New Years typically go on for for most people? I made a payment to my shopping service who was very communicative on Thursday, then just stopped replying. They apparently saw it, and have not said anything since then.
Any gulls have experience buying a bedding set from taobao? I have a queen size bed that needs deep pocket sheets and I'm not sure what size bedding I should get. Thanks in advance for any help.
Are there any search terms out there that could help me find something in a similar style to AP's sack OPs?
I've heard a few people that were happy with their bedding sets, but make sure to nuke it in the dryer for a while first. You always run the risk of bedbugs from buying off of Taobao, It happened to one of my friends.
As for sizes, Chinese bed sizes and US/European are pretty different. http://www.sizechart.com/home/bed-size/chinese/index.html
You may not be able to find something that fits the size of your bed, or it might fit weirdly. Take a look at your bed's measurements and see if they fit!
Are there any shopping services that just forward you your purchases without checking on them. I'm not ordering freaky shit I'm just really uncomfortable with people touching my things in what may not be a factory/industrial environment. Can you ask that they not?
inb4 yes it's ODC
Yoybuy does have a forwarding service but they turned super sketchy middle of last year, I don't know if they've gotten better
Depending on where you live Taobao itself also has a forwarding service but you gonna have to deal with ordering in Chinese
...hate to burst your bubble but where do you think most taobao products come from in the first place? this aint no etsy exactly. chances are, the shopping service (especially if you use a smaller one) is far less of an industrial/factory-like setting than the original seller
Just fair warning most forwarding services will go through your stuff too. Mine told me when items were missing from my order. So they obviously checked. They don't check for quality though, just confirm the package slip.
Taobao shops don't ship to the us. Taobao the site has a forwarding service. You buy the item, pay cost + domestic shipping, have it sent to forwarder, pay forwarder cost to ship. No ss fee through the forwarder works a nominal fee into the international shipping charge. Still generally cheaper but you'll get no help if something goes wrong. I've been able to solve any problem that comes up on my own tho and haven't had to rely on the Chinese speakers I know for help so it's not that hard.
So.. Wait. No SS fee? Why? Surely they'd want compensation if they're still shipping the items to you. Sorry, I've been of /cgl/ for a year now and I generally forgot how TaoBao completely worked aside of the fact that you need an SS..
I wanna buy a couple of OTKs and tights from Mu Fish, but I really feel like doing a SS order for just that seems like a waste. Do they have an Ali or any other shop that I can order directly from them or am I stuck waiting until I have a bigger order planned?
Does anybody know where I can buy this on Taobao? I've seen it on Alliexpress, but I will be making big Taobao order after Chinese New Year and would like to order it with the rest of things.
CNY needs to be over already so I can preorder nameless poem
I missed all the other releases due to life and joblessness, and I wasn't about to pay the $200 that they go for on the western market.
My wallet is ready
What do you mean by sketchy? I used their fowarding service in Sept & was fine. I was thinking of using them again, but if they've gone to shit then no.
Any suggestions for a good fowarding service?
Does anyone know this jsk is from? I saw it on an ebay reseller and reverse image search brings up nothing. Please help its so cute
Use the Lolita Updates group on Facebook, best place I know of to keep track of new Taobao releases.
>There was also a tumblr for updates but I don't remember the name.
Ordering something off of agencytaobao and there's an option to "drop packaging". What does that mean exactly? It says you shouldn't do it for fragile items but I'm just ordering some underwear.
I think it means getting rid of excess packaging from the seller to make it cost less. Not Taobao, but I know From Japan gives you an option for them to open your bought items and remove all the packaging/flyers from the seller and just send the items in FJ's packaging so you're not paying for extra weight.
