I've always really adored MK, even back when she was on LJ. She's my inspiration most of the time, even though I know I will never be able to look as perfect as she does (and completely effortlessly, of course.)

Finally, another one of my LJ inspirations is lavenderlillies. She has such a lovely face.

I understand this isn't a nostalgia thread, but I honestly miss when EGL was active. Especially now around lucky pack season, I really enjoyed seeing what people got. I miss the reviews on new shops and I especially miss the lifestyle blogs that were around during that time. I agree... sort of. I like the idea of country lolita being a legitimate style instead of just sweet lolita with a straw hat on. But I'm not particularly fond of her dresses, I only like two of them I do feel like she misses the mark often (specially when she tries to go for sweet) but she's on the right track. She should definitely explore that country girl look a bit more.

I miss the era of 2010-2011 when all lolitas started to move on to tumblr, where you could post nice high quality pictures. It was the best place for lolitas imo.. I actually really like IG because it's almost all original content and not just people reblogging dresses they want. What really annoys me though is that glw, lockshop, and rockstar are always the top posts in the Lolita tags even if the post is cosplay. They are awful for tag spam.

I personally can't have instagram because I don't own a smartphone and I can't be assed with one, so I feel left out.
I continue to post on tumblr but I receive less and less notes. It feels like it isn't worth it anymore taking the time to take and edit nice pictures. Maybe that's why IG became so popular. It's basically involving zero effort taking grainy selfies or mirror shots, applying some ugly pre set filter on it and posting it on that app.

I agree, a lot of CoF pictures are formated for instagram with Cof being a complete at after thought. I enjoy instagram a lot more, I don't really post on CoF unless I'm unhappy with my coord and am looking to improve it, but even so, I don't know why I bother I never get anything out of it.

I like the stalking capabilities, of IG. I love being able to see more than just peoples lolita outfits. I love alt fashion in general so I love seeing what lolitas wear outside of lolita. For those who use it as a fashion instead of a costume it is almost always an extension of their personal style and it's lovely to see.

The only down side is since its not a moderated community, a lot of unrelated things end up in the tag.

Anyway, I think this is quite off topic so I'll contribute with Sapphiradoll! Her style is so lovely she's such an inspiration.

Filters are great, IG filters are bad. Most jfashion people use aillis/line camera. And tag spamming is the best way to get likes if you're a desperate fame whore. It's probably not a specific tag but the amount/combination of tags she's using.

I haven't really used them because I like to tweak pics on my own but I figured if I can get a nice filter that would be much easier than having to go through 7 steps each time.
