The Good The Bad and the WTF
Leave it to Tracy Hines to come up with something as head-scratching as Ariel Fett. Really sick of this "Disney Princess Re-imagined as a ___________" trend.
I saw this cosplay at otakon this year and i'm just so confused by it. Slave Satsuki? Like isnt her whole deal not being a slave? Like what?...
I don't get why everyone loves to make Slave Leia cosplays besides the "look at me I have tits" factor. The whole story around that costume and the filming of that movie has always made my skin crawl and people still come up to Carrie Fisher and tell her they wanked it to her in that outfit.
You do you I guess? There are more interesting costumes to do though.
when "I do it for the sex appeal" cosplayers combine two of the most basic bitch cosplays into one
There's a few stories from her about the metal bikini.
The big one is the fact that the metal version used for still shots was uncomfortable and stayed in place if she moved at all, resulting in multiple retakes, and jokes from the crew because she was continually flashing everyone.
I couldn't find a cosplay but i found this.
Probably gonna get lambasted, but I think pretty all crossover shit is the height of cringey autism. All I can think is the same sort of mentality goes into the making of shit like Sonichu.
Why do you have to mix completely unrelated works together when their is almost an infinite amount of conventional stuff to chose from, including characters that never get decent cosplay? You aren't being original or creative, you are just being a tryhard hipster autist.
I remember one event I went had my "friends" duo-cosplaying as Disney/Sailor Senshi. Bitches broke my brand new sewing machine and never paid for it be fixed. Haven't talked to them since thank god.
I have a friend that was super jazzed about the idea of Aquaman Ariel and was trying to corral our friends into a Marvel/Disney group and was pretty baffled that no one wanted it. Still at least it makes more sense that fucking Boba Fett.
I just watched all the Star Wars for the first time recently. I thought the Slave Leia thing was going to be a huge part of the story/movie but it's onscreen for like 10 minutes? I don't get why it's so iconic.
Deadpool/Red Ranger with Imperial Stormtroopers. (Not Australian)
I'm not sure what you are talking about.
Not to mention that she told them she was uncomfortable with the design and asked it to be changed but that idea was refused.
I will never understand why women choose this as the sexy go to when it is typically not very flattering to their figures.
this got so much attention... why?
the construction is a nightmare. there's so many good black cosplayers why focus on this piece of garbage...
At this point, there's no creativity with these, and it's clear that all the girls doing it are doing it for attention.
What I hate is when they act all high and mighty about it. "Oh Leia is a strong character, I wanted to cosplay her!". Well, there are several other outfits. If you want to be an attention whore, go right ahead. But at least admit it, you're not fooling anyone.
A few hashtags I saw was #burlesque #pinup #pinup girl
I don't mind crossovers too much (if it actually works) but 3 crossovers is getting a bit ridiculous
I admit I'm guilty of wanting to cosplay the historically accurate Cinderella, but I dont have the skills yet.
I wouldn't call a historically accurate costume a crossover per se. Not to mention the historical redesigns were actually gorgeous and not vomit-inducing neon garbage.
I remember when all the basic bitches were cosplaying any character redesigned with Yoko's outfit...apparently they're still doing it.
>"Oh Leia is a strong character, I wanted to cosplay her!". Well, there are several other outfits. If you want to be an attention whore, go right ahead. But at least admit it, you're not fooling anyone.
Same with Yoko or any other flavor of the month cosplays like that.
Just say it. It would be refreshing for someone to just own up to it.
she looks like she works at hotdog on a stick
I've seen this girl spammed so much on a few of those Instagram sharing accounts so much I had to unsubscribe. Her cosplays are mostly subpar and mainly Chun Li variants. Take some time off, lose some weight, and come back. The accounts even seem to be run by the same people (her? her manager?)
Is it weird Cammy Fett is doing it for me way more than Slave Chun-Li?
Leia wasn't all about it either. The appeal comes from the fact is that Leia used a tool of subjugation to kill her captor, so I'd imagine they were getting at something like that for Satstuki.
Then there was the guy who was going to do the body casting, got WAY too excited about it, and creeped everyone else out, till he got replaced.
Is that really a thing?
I just thought I saw a bunch of terrible Frosts...
