Moving into a new place next month and need some inspiration. Post some lolita inspired bedrooms or post your own!
bringing some less kawaii rooms for us dark/classic types
Thank you, all this pastel was starting to give me a headache.
not that there is anything wrong with bright bedrooms, it's just hard to find gothic/dark aesthetic inspo that isn't an elaborate showroom or museum-looking place
Then you didn't search very well, Hellolace used to have a whole section for hime interior Taobao stores before they closed their site.
i got furniture, anon and i furnished my entire house too.
i'm convinced that there's like a few people who just post 'get it from taobao lulz' in every thread about buying shit without even thinking about it.
Nobody is talking about ordering beds or matress, also you can still get bedbugs from Japan.
first off >>8798278 if you could read anon said she got furniture how do you know what she got? second off, just look in the archives about furnitureanon, ordering furniture from china was proven to be really fucking sketchy.
also, you clearly don't know how bedbugs work at all, they don't -just- live in beds.
And we had plenty of posts in horror story threads regarding bedbugs and secondhand orders from Japan, you don't seem to know how bedbugs work either and they are unlikely to be in tightly plastic wrapped newly produced bedding (this is still a thread about bedrooms).
Excuse the shit quality picture. My bedroom isn't lolita inspired like it used to be but I still love it. Quit two years ago and decided to mature my style a bit.
Omg can you just stfu already?! Seriously, you made the taobao comment now move on. She doesn't want to buy from there, she probably got stuff she liked. Taobao is not that much less anyway, especially for furniture. You're shitting up the thread! I want reviews from atleast romapri since they have a ton of shit I want.
I have quite a few pices from https://huakaimumu.taobao.com/ but the sizing differences to the west are really annoying.
it is difficult to find non-kawaii inspo, so i save any decor used by lolitas with a classic or gothic aesthetic. what i can see behind her is inspiring for me, since i like others keep my books and collectibles in my bedroom.
i like the wall decor (butterfly mobile w/skeleton), and the jewelry draped over the mirror.
it is, as i said, very difficult to find gothic/classic inspo or non-cutesy lolita rooms in general. the standards are lower because of this. there are not many examples to choose from.
Holy shit not that anon but stop. Just turn off your computer and stop posting. You are way too salty over someone not wanting to order shit from taobao. Can you not afford anything else? I'm seriously just imagining you crying in a pile of hastly sewn tulle blankets from taobao. Get yourself together!
I am not salty, I was only saying it is stupid considering you can get similar stuff cheaper elsewhere nor is Japan a magical place where you suddenly can't get bedbugs anymore with shipping furniture with SAL, this would be weeb thinking.
>bawws about someone ordering from japan
>posts japanese ads
>didn't even reply to the original anon
this thread is shit anyways, i'm usually really excited over these but you're shitting it up with your low quality posts and your bawwing for no reason.
can I request ideas for using wallspace to show off dresses? I'm running out of closet space so some of them will have to go on the wall (no direct sunlight and covered with plastic, I know)
milkyfawn's room might be inspiring. try to rotate dresses on the wall vs in the closet to minimize damage.
Thank you! The panoramic view and the tall ceiling makes it look larger than it is. I just recently decluttered it by getting rid of a huge chunk of my decor and now I'm trying to learn how to appreciate empty space on my shelves. Would love to see your room, anon!
lace over computer screen seems like a cool way to minimize dust
Ordering furniture from China wasnt "proven to be sketchy." What was proven was to read the reviews because other Chinese buyers had gotten bedbugs from that same seller as well. It was just plain bad luck.
I really love how simple and clutter-free your room looks. I used to love the super busy kawaii rooms bursting with stuff, but as an adult now I realize how much it sucks to live like that.
I love room threads omg. I'm gonna post the pics I've saved.
I recently moved house and got a new bedroom. My room is small but I utilised the space I have with tall wardrobes. It's black and like a lilac colour mostly. When I've finished I'll post pictures.
I posted my old room on here a long time ago and got feedback on the clutter, so I've reduced. I hope you'll like it.
For now, have this.
>tfw no boystyle room inspo
i have searched high and low for ouji-related things that do not exist. i always forget it does not have the kind of sizable userbase generating ideas and aesthetics like lolita and kawaii feminine fashions do.
A more "mori girl" type of room decor in this pic, but still pretty!
gonna try to find shit
I'm posting these from a folder of room inspiration photos and I'm scared of posting a pic I got from cgl and someone thinking I'm a creep for uploading their own room lmao.
these black frames are everywhere
Thank you! I also used to want a super kawaii cluttered room, but I realised it just gets dusty and is so annoying to live with. I have all my weeb stuff in the corner.
Thanks anon! <3
I got it from a shabby chic store in my local town, I'm sorry!
I have floor storage and I keep cosplay items and shoes in the top drawers. I have a separate room for all my clothes because I have so many. There are plenty of organisers and storage spacers in ikea.
a mature sweet goth room
I'm moving in to live with my boyfriend next weekend... His apartment has a very simplistic style, so I feel kind of bad for bringing all of my super girly himekaji stuff to his place, lol
I'm with you - All the super kawaii rooms are nice to look at but it's not something I would ever want to live in. The room you posted is basically my ideal; I like things to be neatly organized and out of sight. It makes things look clean and sleek.
I wish my room was way more kawaii but my husband wanted black furnishings in there. So now every wood piece of furniture we own is black. I'm not too salty though because I do want him to like his surroundings as well. But we have discussed that when we buy our own house (currently renting) that I can have a lolita room.
>both of us never want children
>all extra bedrooms turn into cool ass shit like lolita room or computer/vidya room
Nice rilakkuma and Yoshitomo Nara art, anon.
This thread makes me yearn even more for the time when I can have an at least semi-permanent apartment/house. Moving every 8 months or so due to uni has been a fucking nightmare.
The trash can with Purin on it? I got that from Sanrio.com for Christmas this year. I have a really bad obsession with PomPomPurin.
To anyone here who has lovely rooms like this, do you keep them tidy like this all the time? I'm just so bad at keeping my room tidy, I tidy and clean every week but by the end of the week its a state again!
I would not let my cat around that much fire but this is such a cute setup! I love having my bed in a corner like a little nook. Curious about how the rest of the room looks though, probably all shelves behind where the picture is being taken.
Same here anon. I think it might just be that there's just not proper storage for all the stuff I have, like it needs to be placed really specifically to get everything you tidied away, and that I just need less stuff. Except I'm a hoarder. Hope you can sort out your problem!
I have what looks like a lot of clutter, but everything get used. My bookshelf is packed [had to downgrade to only one vs the 4 I used to have in my room] which looks like the messiest part. I altered one of the bookshelves I had and removed two of the shelves in order to fit my mini fridge under it and the rest acts as a holder for my PS3 and my cable box.
Ignore the pants laying in the middle of the floor. I was too lazy to move them.
I freaking love ikea.
I suck it up and make myself do a quick pickup once a day. Also helps when you have designated places to put stuff. When some place has a home, makes it a lot easier to clean. I'm still a bit sloppy though. Much much better then when I grew up in a hoarders house, but I still get lazier then I should.
>that majestic cat tree
Anyways, do you want to remove the clutter? I can think of some way to bring the room together nicely. Framing and spreading out those posters, getting a taller bookshelf or an extension piece, having only one candle out as opposed to like what, 5? It's a cute room but could use some refining imo.
This is my sewing/craft area. I really want to replace the couch with a cutting table, but my kitties really love sitting on it and looking out the window.
I also want to get better storage, but that's all I had on hand.
Anyone know a cute way to store a metric shit ton of stuffed animals?
I collect them and have around 75 medium to large plushies that I'm unwilling to part with but they clutter up my room terribly.
>shelf is full
>bed is full
>stuffed animal net is full
Not a photo of my whole room, but I really like this display of mine! I've gotta find a way to better show off my compact gashapons. I just haven't found a good way to prop them up yet.
I'm also trying to think up a way/place to display my Clow wand/cards (not pictured), but I might just have to get a separate shelf for them. I considered just "hanging" the wand on the wall, but I feel like it'd look a little weird.
For your compacts, maybe something like this to display them?
I wish I could set up my bed in a nook like in the pic! I like sleeping leaning a bit against the wall. Unfortunately in my current room, the bed is right in the middle so it's not possible to do so, but I hope that one day I have the oportunity to do a set up like that one.
omg lol, wow, nice self post
>bag and stuff on floor
>everything is mismatched
>shoes on bed
>ita staring into my soul
also the placement of the makeup table (? its too cluttered to even tell) means you cant use that balcony or even close those blinds.. wow. You have such shit taste anon
All of the shelves were custom made. The family that owns the house made the room into a library in the 80's. When I started renting two years ago, I decided to use it as a bedroom and I'm super happy I did.
Not really. Everything has a place and everything gets used. Idealy I'd love a full pastel room, pale green walls with light baby pink accents with light brown and white as well, but this is a rental house, so I'm not planning on really painting anything until I am able to move out and do stuff myself. Only then will I really care.
>tfw California is too expensive to move out unless you work super fancy high paying job or live with 5 million other people
Oh grow up you stupid children, you all know she had this picture done as part of someone's project. You know she was directed to do this.
Jesus, keep your back talking to your elitist efame whoring group.
This is just getting very sad.
I've ordered 4 bedding sets, table matles, curtains, cushions and countless stuffed toys over the course of five years off of Chinese sellers on eBay and I've never gotten bed bugs. It's possible I suppose but hardly the norm, I feel like you're being crazy fucking paranoid.
>desk that easily pulls over bed like a blanket, meaning minimal effort on the person's part
>big plate of food on desk
>spending comp time lazily lying down instead of sitting up like a normal person.
That room is 90% likely to be owned by a fatass. I bet she has a feeder boyfriend who she screams at for more food while she wastes her days cushioned by her own lard.
Still need to find a suitable chair for the vanity and desk, but I am somewhat content with my room right now. My apologies for the messy ass desk
I'm seriously debating on getting this vanity (ikea right?). How do you like it? My only complaint would be that there seems to be very little storage but I could probably live with that by storing them elsewhere nearby.
It looks like it at least has the larger drawer.
I use windex because it does make stuff easier to clean, water is completely fine as well. I have tons of skin care products like you and I had to place most of it on the desk because it wouldn't fit in the drawer in the end rip
does anyone happen to have some cute girly bathrooms? im moving to a new place and im finally gonna have a bathroom completely to myself. id like to make it as adorable as a bathroom can be!
what a super cute display anon! so simple and delicate.
the hanging tubes in the top right corner are the finishing touch. beautiful.
And a cute microscope to check on the bacteria growing in the plush.
Same, anon. I also had it decorated when I was 14, so it's all bright red, it's my favourite colour still but not for any kind of decorating. It would take a fuck ton of time to paint over so it'd be easier to just move out and let my parents have a bit of an ugly guest room.
My walls are pastel blue which isn't horrible but there's cracks and bumps so it's not really desirable for a buyer. We'll probably have to knock the house down to try and make more money off the land.
Not really sure on what I want to do with my future room though so hopefully these threads will continue in the future.
Nah you ain't alone, but I recently renovated a little so I'm still trying to organize. My drawers take up so much space in my little room but it's such a waste to throw them out since there's so little wear and tear. Also sewing and cosplay stuff take up a good chunk of my room storage.
every room in my apartment is beige and we're not allowed to paint it.
I have a black bedframe and i'm unsure how to decorate it.
preferably, I'd like it ocean themed but these walls feel like a decorating cockblock.
Here are a few jfash rooms that were featured in the last Kera, for those who missed it.
>all that Pompompurin and Gudetama merch
I'm jelly, anon. I love them but I'm too cheap to purchase anything. I just bookmark cute items of them and look at them every so often.
Omg anon that setup is lovely! I found one of my old Polly Pocket lockets the other day and it's a simple light pink heart with a house on top and a little yard on the bottom. Oh youth.
You're not alone. I'm renting and have inherited all my furniture so there's no theme really. I also share with my BF so I try to keep it somewhat neutral for him. I get so jealous of all the kawaii rooms but by the time I can afford the furniture I'll be an adult most likely with a kid or two. At least I can decorate their rooms cute....
Anyone got kotatsu inspo? Would appreciate.
I finally cleaned my room so i thought i could share it in here. I am open to constructive criticism!
> i would remove all the cluster on my walls but i don’t bother till i am moving out. This applies to many of the choices in here. Like the bright pink walls and some of the furniture.
i just realized after i took the photos how crooked the Interstella 5555 and jjba poster were in the last photos, so i fixed it after!
I've loved your desk and laptop setup since you first posted.
I'm so jealous of people who have lived in one place for a while and/or still have their old (sometimes current) bedroom at their parents' house. We were poor and constantly moving when I was a kid/teen and living with my mum, and now both of my parents live in different houses in different states. At uni I had to move like every 9 months because of shitty leases/dorm contracts. I feel like I've never been able to make a place my own, and it's one of the reasons I really just want to get a decent job and buy a fucking house.
I brought it on a site called panic posters i dont know if they still have the Stella version. But keep your eyes open on ebay sometimes it shows up there! I am happy to re awaken your love for Daft Punk Interstella 5555 is such a cute and underrated movie.
Thank you Anon i really appreciate!
I can understand your feels. I mean this room is really my cave; i have lived here since i was about nine. However, it is also nice being able to settle in something new occasionally. I hope you get a chance to find a place you can really settle in!
thank you! I know what you mean, I got to see it in a cinema a few years ago and I fucking cried hard at it. I first saw it when I was 8 or 9 and it was so amazing, I had no idea what anime was but I just loved that. I'll look around for it!
No problem. I was super lucky i found out some hipster film club was showing it in a cinema near me so i went to see it and i still cried. Digital love and Something about us always gives me so many feels.
I collect alpacasso and got a huge wire shelf that fits almost all my large ones and then can line my medium/small ones. Not super kawaii but I have yet to find anything better when you have so many, so I feel you anon.
Dearest /cgl/ please help me. Some shit happened and our craft room had to move to the common area. The bulk of this is mine and I feel bad cause it's not cute at all, and my roommates and I like cute stuff. The spare closest is full of complete costumes so we don't know how to hide 10 full boxes of supplies and more. I've already trashed/donated what we could. Tips on making this awkward half craft/half real furniture space look like a cohesive room?
I posted my old bedroom here when I lived in a shoebox. It's been reborn into a much bigger space. Still fixing up the rest of the house, it's not nearly so kawaii desu.
Bought this off ebay and aside from the walls matching everything else is dark wood and fandom/gothic stuff. Anyone know any suggestions for themed stuff that isn't overly pink on pink? My kingdom for a cute cloud shaped rug.
Use an armoire. I have seen people use these as decor in living rooms before and you can get a nice one at Goodwill then paint it white to make it cuter.
Fuck. I love loft beds/bunk beds, they're so practical and cozy at the same time
I can't have one though, because I have a doggie that loves to sleep in the bed with me (and I love to have him in the bed, I actually have a hard time sleeping without him there), and he wouldn't be able to get up/down...
I had the same problem but no floor space.
I just used cosplay skills, spare carpet for grip, and big 3M cardboard tubes (so it was enclosed and he couldn't fall off, I just made little windows to see where he was in the tube) to build him a ramp from the floor to a carpeted nightstand, bolted in place, where his dishes and toys are, then from the nightstand to the bed. Like pic related but tubes and covered with wallpaper, like a large hamster set up. Ramps to lofts usually need a bend in them to keep the angle shallow but not have too long of a ramp.
Alright cgl I'm looking for some help. I have a 5 month old bunny that is in need of moving up from her little cage home, and I want to make the corner of my bedroom into "kawaii/cute" habitat for her. I've seen a few gifs online (I'm assuming from Japan) of people with bunny homes that were cute, but can't locate the gifs now. Any ideas of what I could do?
She is litter trained, yes. Only a chewer if needs attention at night.
I have held a rabbit in my room prior. My room isn't tiny, and receives ventilation. She'll be moved to the common area once she's a bit bigger. Rabbits really only stink up the place if you don't change their litter often/don't use the correct bedding..this can be in living rooms, bedrooms, etc.
Alright. If she's not a big chewer, you could use interlocking foam mats for flooring. It should be easy to clean and inexpensive. Here's one I liked:
If you think she'll leave a plush alone and not pee in it, you could try one of those cute strawberry pet beds. Make sure you get one with a removable cushion so it can be washed.
>tfw my rabbit chews on anything and everything and can't have nice things
Just make sure she has plenty of things that she's allowed to chew on, too, to minimize the risk of damage to the cute things.
If you don't mind a little bit of a mess to clean up, you could also look for a cute and shallow planter or storage box to turn into a dig box.
Even if they are litter trained and u clean it twice a day itll still stink. I have mine in the restroom so he can roam around all that space and I can open the window there for ventilation, its the best system t b h
I'm about to refurnish my bedroom completely, I have a lot of ideas but I have one big problem - I don't know how to store my bags nicely. I'm a complete bag addict and I've had them strewn around the house for a while, but now I really want to figure out a good way to both store and display them.
Do you anons have any advice?
I'm tired as fuck so when I read your post and then enlarged the picture I was halfway clicking the reply button to write "I think you ought to worry about that huge-ass pair of angel wings first" before my brain caught up.
My gran is a bag addict and has those metal DIY shelving units in her walk-in closet to hold her bags and it's a fucking mess after a while. If you're proud of your bags and want to show them off, definitely get some of those Command wall hooks in metal or even just clear plastic that you just stick on and then pull down the little strip of putty when you want to remove them and they don't damage the walls. You can turn an entire wall into your own purse display. I've seen lolitas who have a row of theirs up like that and it looks really cool.
Kawaii as fuck, yo.
I have a small box room. I hope this helps for anybody who is worried about space and has quite a lot of stuff. Tall wardrobes and using under your bed for storage are life safers.
Sorry about terrible lighting and the white cable on the floor, it was plugged into my phone, but then I used it to take pictures.
I might be moving soon, and if we do, it means I get to have a sewing room to myself that doesn't double as a guest bedroom. I want to turn one part of the room into a "display" wall for my dress form and a fancy sofa, I think. I was considering painting this wall an accent colour, and hanging a mirror and framed pictures I've picked up over the years. I've gone through the thread and picked some favourites, but are there any more images of dark/gothic "sitting room" arrangements instead of bedrooms?
Pic unrelated to what I'm after, but something that might suit a classic lolita themed room?
Are you me? I have a box tiny room, and always look at them wistfully, but low ceilings and puppy make it a no go.
Is it just me, or has anyone else thought of reversing the loft situation so that desk/storage is above and the bed is below?
Here, I'll post some inspiration for you. (Sorry they're mostly kid rooms)
I realize that all of these are technically bunk beds, but if you just removed the top mattress it would be fine for storage.
Eeeee, many happy thanks kind anon! These are going into my room folder. Given some spare cash, I just might try this. If I do, I'll post results.
