Quiet year for me due to college and subsequently job searching. Hoping that 2016 brings more opportunities for more cosplans after my work schedule stabilizes. Happy new year to all Seagulls!

this year was my first year of wearing coords and participating in jfash things. i do not take selfies often so i have few pics. these are the 6 best shots imo.
top left is july, bottom right is my first ILD this december. no full outfit shots for most things, i never care to get them except in retrospect. perhaps 2016 will be the year of better coords and less camera shyness.

Surprisingly high output this year; out of 25 cosplays, 13 were made and 8 were bought (or too casual to be considered). Definitely started doing more towards the end of the year, since everything after the the first two pics in the second row is from July and after.

This year wasn't great for me. The top half of Umi needs to be redone since the jacket didn't fit the way I wanted and the wig color looks awful on me, I want to add more feathered volume to the sides of Crow's wig and define the criminal markers (the yellow doesn't stand out enough, bu I don't like the black outlines people do since it looks to cartoon-y for me and brown muddies it up. Suggestions?), and I'd like to revisit the fit of the coat for Shun if I can before I re-wear him.

I love wearing my natural hair but I def need to more hairstyles.

This year was slow for me. We moved to a new state and took a while to get settled. I will say that I'm very proud of the Thor costume I made for my son for Halloween. I used a pattern, but I've never sewed a costume before. Everything, but the hammer was done by me from the beautiful satin cape to his boot covers.

But I want to give you some advice. Never wear such long sweaters over the skirt. It kills the proper lolita silhouette. But you look great anyway.

Thanks! I had bought a different sweater that was shorter, but it had a huge hole in it and I had to return it! This was the closest thing they had in a similar color. I'm still on the lookout for something more appropriate.

Only four new major cosplays this year, but I'm not a very high-volume cosplayer since I split my time & budget with Lolita.
Pretty happy with all of them, and already looking forward to my 2016 plans!

Pretty good year for me. Started to focus more on construction of garments towards the end of the year. The stuff I'm making now for Katsucon is turning out beautifully so far.

OP here. Definitely agree with you. Luckily, I stopped using that bathroom mirror several months ago. I'm still very awkward when it comes to posing when friends are taking pictures of me, so one of my New Years resolutions is to improve on that.

It's a mix of attending a fair amount of cons and cosplay being my main hobby so I feel empty if I'm not working on something. This year I made, by my standards, very few costumes. I do re-wear costumes (and did quite a lot this year) but I prefer to have a new costume for each day of a con I go to.

I go to a lot of conventions (in the latter half of the year I attend around 1 convention every month), and at bigger conventions I wear around 3-4 new cosplays. I don't really like rewearing cosplays (unless I can't finish what I planned to on time), so the amount eventually accumulates
