2015 is almost over. Post all the costumes/cords you completed for the year.
Quiet year for me due to college and subsequently job searching. Hoping that 2016 brings more opportunities for more cosplans after my work schedule stabilizes. Happy new year to all Seagulls!
>having my shit together enough to start cosplaying
You're funny anon
I don't know any of these series but your costumes look p great.
Here's my own. Here's to 2016
Thanks! I see jojo, gekkan shoujo and is that... shin megami tensei? At least those are the few series I can recognise. Haha nice job! Mine are from dungeon meshi, touhou, ragnarok online and kamiaso
this year was my first year of wearing coords and participating in jfash things. i do not take selfies often so i have few pics. these are the 6 best shots imo.
top left is july, bottom right is my first ILD this december. no full outfit shots for most things, i never care to get them except in retrospect. perhaps 2016 will be the year of better coords and less camera shyness.
Surprisingly high output this year; out of 25 cosplays, 13 were made and 8 were bought (or too casual to be considered). Definitely started doing more towards the end of the year, since everything after the the first two pics in the second row is from July and after.
This year wasn't great for me. The top half of Umi needs to be redone since the jacket didn't fit the way I wanted and the wig color looks awful on me, I want to add more feathered volume to the sides of Crow's wig and define the criminal markers (the yellow doesn't stand out enough, bu I don't like the black outlines people do since it looks to cartoon-y for me and brown muddies it up. Suggestions?), and I'd like to revisit the fit of the coat for Shun if I can before I re-wear him.
Both of you guys' stuff looks really clean! Very nice!
I'm not too familiar with jfashion, but I really like the top middle outfit!
These are many of my 2015 coords.Sadly sometimes I wasn't able to take a decent coord picture.
I love wearing my natural hair but I def need to more hairstyles.
This year was slow for me. We moved to a new state and took a while to get settled. I will say that I'm very proud of the Thor costume I made for my son for Halloween. I used a pattern, but I've never sewed a costume before. Everything, but the hammer was done by me from the beautiful satin cape to his boot covers.
Thanks! I had bought a different sweater that was shorter, but it had a huge hole in it and I had to return it! This was the closest thing they had in a similar color. I'm still on the lookout for something more appropriate.
Only four new major cosplays this year, but I'm not a very high-volume cosplayer since I split my time & budget with Lolita.
Pretty happy with all of them, and already looking forward to my 2016 plans!
Pretty good year for me. Started to focus more on construction of garments towards the end of the year. The stuff I'm making now for Katsucon is turning out beautifully so far.
I guess I do usually post in these kind of threads.
It's missing my Izumi Iori starting guide/mongen mv cosplay but that makes it uneven and I don't have pics back from it yet.
oh man this thread just made me realise how many costumes I started but never actually finished/wore in 2015. I've got a good half dozen sitting around in various stages of completeness....here's to 2016 as a year of finishing shit and actually photographing it all!
Fuck it, I'll selfpost. Definitely improved a lot in 2015, even though I slowed down a lot on wearing lolita the last few months. 2016 is already showing promise so far, so hopefully I can improve and expand my wardrobe even more.
You have some lovely coords, my favourite is the 6th one. I'm sorry but I have to say I find toilet selfies particularly tacky, in the future maybe get a friend to take a picture for you.
OP here. Definitely agree with you. Luckily, I stopped using that bathroom mirror several months ago. I'm still very awkward when it comes to posing when friends are taking pictures of me, so one of my New Years resolutions is to improve on that.
Question for cosplayers: why do you make so many cosplays in a year? Do you attend a lot of cons? Do you re-wear costumes? Do you sell them? I'm genuinely curious. I think it's fucking amazing how dedicated you all are to your craft and everyone's cosplays look amazing, I just can't wrap my head around the quantity.
Thank you! You have great taste in Show by Rock boys.
It's a mix of attending a fair amount of cons and cosplay being my main hobby so I feel empty if I'm not working on something. This year I made, by my standards, very few costumes. I do re-wear costumes (and did quite a lot this year) but I prefer to have a new costume for each day of a con I go to.
I go to a lot of conventions (in the latter half of the year I attend around 1 convention every month), and at bigger conventions I wear around 3-4 new cosplays. I don't really like rewearing cosplays (unless I can't finish what I planned to on time), so the amount eventually accumulates
