Kenmomo Friends had to cost mere pennies on the dollar with the shit-tier cel-shaded animation, yet it utterly exploded in popularity and had to have made a lot of cash.

That ratio of cash invested vs. cash made has to be too good for a company to pass up.

Hopefully Season 2 will get done in decent-looking traditional animation, like Season 1 deserved but didn't get.

Ha, no way. Tatsuki only works in 3D. The majority of the fans have come to love the CG, myself included. And if this show were in 2D, animating all those spots and stripes would be a complete nightmare. There's no way the artstyle is changing.
