Yo, I am taking an internship in a Sales & marketing department of an american hotel. What extra reading and training can you all recommend so I can get pro at this?
Also if anyone else has been in such a position and has advice, or suggestions I'd like to hear them.
What sort of role are you taking?

I dont know the exact role within the department, but during the intern/practicum I'll be just helping out around each area. are there big key areas I should look out for?

I'm only entry level at the moment so I can't give that much advice. Just in general, make sure you're assertive, have a projective voice and keep a positive attitude. Higher ups in sales are obsessed with that stuff.

If it's an actual sales job you'll want to quickly identify who's the best then spend every free minute you have learning from them. You should check out a book called Pitch Anything (but get the audio version because it's way better).
If it's just a "marketing" role then find the woman who spends all day on tumblr. Appease her and you can one day have a position under somebody who has a lower iq than you but deserves the job more because of their non-binary gender identity.
