This online toy store is opening a retail location in Austin TX over the weekend.
Here in PA, retail options are constantly shrinking. We've got 2 Toys R Us and 1 Spencers-like chain shop (that won't be around this time next year) within a 40 mile radius. All of the other chains and independants are closed.
The convention business is a mixed bag. Seems to be more shows popping up but little money being spent.
Are these guys going to make it? If so, what makes Austin different from Harrisburg or Pittsburgh?

Disposable hipster and/or trust fund income for toys. Austin has lots of retail like this. Look up Toy Joy. Its an institution there.
