Guessing it might be the Baltic Dry Index, or Guggenheim Shipping ETF Index (SEA)?
Looks like a Bloomberg chart?
when you buy a container what do you do with it? rent it out to people? im kinda interested in this topic.
Please explain how to make money with owning a container.
If you want to be a childish asshole please don't reply, I know this is 4chan but i would really like some kind of a logical answer.

yes you can buy them and rent them (to the shipping industry)
desu it doesn't make much sense to me, why wouldn't they buy their own containers?
I heard the crane rental industry is booming, at least here in Nashville. Buy some fucking cranes.

If a shipping container is sent somewhere where there are no products to put in it for the return trip then its cheaper not to ship it back.
A good that the industry habitually sells at any price rather than deal with will never be an investment.
Incidentally this is why they make good homes - they're cheaper than just about anything else
