How would I go about starting a life insurance company?
I have a pretty good idea on how to make loads of cash off of it while still making the customer think they're getting a solid arrangement.
What certifications would I need? How could I get the financing for it?
Unlikely unless you're going to have a serious niche, have really solid experience in LI (I'm talking upper management), a fucking phenomenal network, and massive capital and collateral.
Tl;Dr not gonna happen. Sorry anon
Lol... you aren't going to be able to start a life insurance company, for any of the following reasons...
1. There are license requirements for people selling life insurance, and a lot more for the company itself.
2. You need PILES of cash. You have to be able to legally prove you have the money to provide the coverage you sell.
3. A small company wouldn't be able to compete with the big boys who have economy of sales.
4. By your description, it sounds more like you want to fool the customers rather than provide them a real service, which usually results in jail time.
If you're really interested in the industry, go work for one of the big names for 20-25 years, then start your own agency (kind of like a franchise in the insurance industry)

That's called fraud. If you try it, you'll go to prison.
Good luck.
