Was wondering if someone could clear something up for me: Why do some services ask you to pay for stock charts that aren't in realtime? What is the purpose of having charts that are delayed 15+ minutes? I'm having trouble wrapping my head around that even if you're not a trader. Why would someone pay to see charts delayed?

I think you've got it backward. They want you to pay for realtime, otherwise you get the 15-minute delay.
