Hi /biz/,
I'm at a crisis here. I'm inexperienced in office politics so was wondering if you guys can tell me what to prepare for.
My Timeline:
2 years in Marketing - had a decent role with lots of responsibilities.
6 months in Business Development - New department and job, but as the company couldn't sell our own brand products the department was dissolved and I was transferred to...
2 months OEM Business Development - I was transferred to support the main business development guy, and to utilise my language skills, but it's been confined to market research and my manager admits that he doesn't know what I should do after I finish the report I'm working on.
Will I be made redundant /biz/? :/// The salary is cushy and I can save around £1k a month, but I have very little work to do.
Should I pre-emptively go part time and build up my side business (photography). I turned over £6k last year doing photos in my spare time. But I'm scared to take the risk..

In any event, pre-emptively going part time sounds foolish. If you're risking loosing employment, put the effort in extra to start the side business, nights and weekends.

You should be looking for your next job. If you want to eventually switch over to doing photography full time do so without a gun to your head.
