You do realize BTC is inevitably going to die out despite its current hype?
The best blockchain will always win. You know BTC is not the best. When the masses understand Bitcoin, their next realization is to move onto a better platform.
25% of all BTC is lost forever and more keep getting lost.
The mining process itself is outdated and consumes too much electricity.

How useful is an ERC-20 token-only exchange anyway? I'm not trying to FUD this coin, I have a small stake in it (over 6k tokens) but I just have a feeling that it's going to tank after radar relay. The whales are going to use the opportunity to dump their tokens with a decent amount support from the hype. They've been dumping slowly since the ATH days ago, but now they're going to get the chance to lock in all of their profit. At least that's how I feel.
Where does this token get its value from? Radar relay, ethfinix, and the 0cean will all be in competition with each other soon which means they will be able to gain the advantage by charging the lowest 0x token fees. I realize all these new exchanges will be creating demand for 0x, but they will all be inadvertently working to offset that demand by charging less fees and using less 0x tokens overall.
I don't want this coin to fail, I just have a hard time being overly confident in it.
An ERC-20 token exchange? An exchange full of premined, shitty smart contracts written in 100 lines of solidity promising the world with no working products, whitepapers full of buzzwords and stock bootstrap websites... Do you really think this is the future of crypto?
>>3280402
> decentralized exchanges
This is a right step towards the future of crypto. ZRX is the science experiment, and entrepreneurs are looking at this closely to see how it does. The new coins in the future with the same idea will prosper.

Well, I never gave a fuck about radar relay. I only care about ethfinex, which will use blocknet to support cross chain transactions, meaning it won't be ERC-20 only. So, this radar relay thing means nothing to me.
Also, exchanges already offer varying fees so what's your point? lol
I'll take decentralized exchanges were any token can be added SEC compliant or not. Also, all transactions will be done from my wallet rather than needing to transfer my coins to the exchange.

Verge is already climbing, as the news is out but only to very people.
Look their roadmap - shit is happening.
VERGE AND DISCORD WILL INTEGRATE PAYMENTS. You can literally send Verge through Discord and soon Telegram aswell.
This is only the beginning. Verge will overtake all privacy coins in marketcap. Their marketing so far has been pretty bad, which is literally the only reason it is as low as it is today.

Investing in an index fund is pretty much the safest investment strategy for normies in the regular stock market.
Would it therefore make sense to invest my funds in crypto like I would in an index fund: ie, spread out my funds across dozens of different coins and then just hold long term?
I don't have much money but I think I could convince my dad to invest maybe $10k spread across a few dozen coins. It would almost certainly make a decent profit just holding for a year or more. I looked back on coinmarketcap.com one year ago at the top 30 coins and 28/30 were higher in price today than they were a year ago, meaning my investment strategy would have been profitable if I had done it a year ago.
>Would investing in good crypto coins be profitable?
Yes retard, it certainly would.
>>3280377
Look into Bit20. It's an index fund that regularly rotates the top coins based on market cap, value, etc.
Check out this article:
http://woobull.com/data-visualisation-118-coins-plotted-over-time-this-is-why-hodl-alt-coin-indexes-dont-work/
I think it’s plausible that too much alt-coins currently are basically tending towards 0 because they don’t have solid fundamentals and will just run out of dev money.
IF you really want a "throw money in and dont look for years" product:
Either you go with BTC which is basically a kind of crypto index (market condition always hinges on BTC condition, at least for now; but BTC can always fall as the no1 crypto).
Or you hand-pick a number of solid cryptos that are developed by volunteers, ie. more technology than business.

Put $500 into ETH put $500 into XMR. I have another $500 that I want to put into a coin. What should I put it into?
Nav coin. Obviously not nearly as safe as your other two. But why not pick another coin that has a lot of potential to increase by 10 times. You have two safe picks, now pick one that you're betting on

ltc or neo. I'd probably go neo since ltc is peaking.

Barely a top 100 coin and starting a huge bull run. Why aren't you getting in early?
I'm in. How far will it go?
It is being shilled but it has great things going for it. Normie friendly privacy coin. Brillant idea. Maybe a year early.

This coin is very dear to me but it has never broken through ATH, check the history. I don't think it'll do it any time soon.

What is the best way to tumble BTC/LTC/ETH?
I know none of us wants to be taxed every transaction.
What happened to the Cryptocurrency market that caused 2017 to see a seemingly endless climb?
The market was in a very small climb from 3B to 14B market cap over 4 years after 2013's crash which hardly registers as a blip now from 12B to 3B over 1.5 years.
So something happened that made Crypto explode right?
We saw 100% gains in market cap from Jan 20 to April 22nd
Then we see another 100% by may 19th from 30B to 60B
Then we hit a snag at June 14th around 110B
Then a dip back to 66B on July 15th
Then we skyrocket from July 15th to 168B only 45 days later, almost 300% of its previous value.
All together, we've seen the market cap increase from 17B to almost 170B in 9 months..., 1000% of its original value... If you look at 1 year (last september we were at 11B) then that's 1500%+ of its year value.
So what happened?
