My friend is 19 and still lives with his family to help support them. He has two older sisters who moved out and three younger siblings, they are extremely poor, way below the poverty line, and he has to work a minimum wage job to help support himself and his family. Tips are the only thing thats keeping him afloat right now. Since he got this job he's actually been happy and a bit financially stable and even able to help pay some bills for his family. At the time, minimum wage in my country was $250 a month. She raised me and my brother, she kept the family together for 10 years until my father finally found a job and no one ever missed anything. We did have our own house so the rent wasn't a problem, but still.

I was a delivery driver just a little bit ago and there aren't company cars and has money isn't reimbursed. I got $5 an hour guaranteed, $5 if not one tipped and $5 is everyone tipped. It's not a hard job, but it isn't either easy either when you get stiffed constantly. I'm not suggesting you go crazy with tipping but a dollar or two are really nice.
