>>673174235
Come on now, no baitin'
>>673173685

>>673173894
Still crying like a pussy when I see the cinema scene.
>>673174321

Metropolis
Killer Klowns from Outer Space
In Bruges
Gayniggers from Outer Space
What's Eating Gilbert Grape
Not my favorite, but gonna give a shout out to Tetsuo, The Iron Man. Shittiest movie with the best potential.
>>673171735
I watched this on acid once, changed the way I look at people, very deep sometimes I tear up when I hear the music
>>673176960
finally found my soulmate
that movie opened my eyes on so many levels. You could say it kickstarted my fascination for genetics. Also the idea of a faggot working his ass off and making it despite all odds, and oh the sountrack jesus it's great
brb watching gattaca again
>>673177786
Nice to know someone else likes the movie, too
Old Yeller. My favorite as a kid. Still like to watch it. Have a box of tissues nearby.
God-tier movie
I love Tarantino movies
>>673175021
Love this movie - sells itself as a movie for teen girls, but don't let that fool you, there's more than enough here for everyone to find enjoyable, and with Matthew Vaughn (one of my favourite directors) behind it the film has some of the best direction I've seen in a long time. Also, Daredevil beats Superman in a swordfight.
>>673178234
Best movie with Aliens I have ever seen.
cant think of my favourite but really enjoyed this one.
Either Scott Pilgrim or The Player - best 2 films of all time
>>673178412
no doubt.
This
>>673178498
Scott Pilgrim was an amazing movie
>>673178461
The music in that one is simply amazing
>>673174235
I'd fuck them up if I was a ghost and btw...
I ain't scared of no Toast.
>>673178597
Most people just brush it off as millennial hipster trash because the story is millennial hipster trash, but the story really just takes a back seat to the witty writing and that Edgar Wright style
>>673178234
We need district 10
OP here, It's nice to see so much positivity from this thread on /b/. I really like all of these movies and I plan on watching the ones I haven't seen this week. Thanks for the recommendations guys. goodnight.
>>673178826
i really hope they make a sequel
>>673178784
Charlie countrymen was hipster trash but I loved it. Maybe it was because I was on shrooms
>>673178864
no problem, guy. goodnight.
>This is not me, sir!
>THIS IS NOT ME!
The Double (2014)
>>673178864
Any time my man, the only time I've seen threads on 4chan be mostly civilised of when we discuss movies. We are all sirs today.
>>673178826
Instead they made chappie. Like why?
>>673179194
In fairness, take out Die Antwoord and their horrible acting and Chappie would have been a pretty decent film
love this film
SCOTT PILGRIM VS THE WORLD
>>673179351
Still should have made district 10 besides that. I've never seen chappie though. I'm just mad because I love D9 and have been waiting to see what happens
Still the best book to movie adaptation ever made.
>>673179457
He probably would have ruined it, Neal Blomkampf was a 1 hit wonder if ever I saw one
>>673179520
I like the way you think, you filthy, deranged animal.
Master & commander
this is my anti depressant
>>673179605
Then I might have to roll up my sleeves and get some funding to make it myself because well one, I'm a writer, and two I loved the movie

>>673171735

>>673171905
All the Ghibli films are pretty good.
I think my favourite is, The Mummy Returns or Fifth Element or Robin Hood:Men in Tights, not sure which. As far as feels go, generally go to shows or books for that.
>>673180041
Elysium and Chappie. He's only done 3 films.
>>673180380
ohh shit man no breaks on the feel train. gattaca truly is a great film
>>673179692
Ive seen that so much around here is it any good?
>>673180747
i watched it for the first time last night actually. nothing like what i expected yet still was a good laugh.
>>673179692
good god no. i dont want to know the people that like this shit
>>673180747
It's pretty quirky, def worth a watch though.
Fight Club
It made me realise we are all pieces of meat with no meaning and to live the moment and not worry as death is imminent

I like you guys.
Not necessarily my favorite movie, but definitely the comfiest for me.
>>673180877
Isnt it a stoner comedy? I have no problem with those types of movies but most are just borderline autist actors doing stupid shit for 2 hours
>>673179520
Wrong.
>>673180380
>>673180747
probably my favorite movie. Its hilarious, memorable and zany af. Watch on acid for maximum experience
Forrest Gump
>>673181362
saw that for the first time a few months ago, wasn't mad on it
>>673181056
You might find that's exactly how you feel about it, give it a go though.
>>673181385
I've never failed to enjoy that movie.
>>673175162

>>673181659
Just such a dark movie
>>673181503
that's because you're a stupid nigger
>>673181362
I've realized it's patriotic as fuck, but still a great movie.
>>673181659
>>673181736
A movie about an autistic guy, legitimately didn't get anything out of this movie.
>>673181736
I want Drive+Nighcralwer movie
>>673181787
i mean, not really
it shows how not even the usa could do shit in the end
>>673178730
Anything Felini does is a masterpiece. I love La Dolce Vita as well
>>673173973
Chill out bro, dune would have been shit anyway.
>>673181769
yeah probably.
but here's a better war film
>>673181831
You an stoopid
>>673178317
*Outstanding* movie! Omar Sy was superb.
>>673181981
Yeap, totally didn't see that coming
>Stahp not liking what I like
>mfw
>>673180878
How's being 15 working out for you so far?
My favourite of all time
>>673178536
I really tried to like this movie. Visually it was amazing, no doubt. But damn it, I just had trouble staying interested in it. I made it just over 1/2 way, and bailed.
>>673171735
W8wat people actually liked this movie?
I watched it and I didn't feel like it's worth my time
This one, forever and always.
such a great movie

>>673177314
I love me some Sam L in Tarantino movies
>>673171735
Armagedon
The Big Lebowski
That movie speaks to my soul, also I love bowling
>>673183124
bowling for columbine you mean
>>673181831
That's because your the autistic one. Really nothing? So the world has become a place where people would rather take a video of someone dying then help them. There I kinda helped I hope
>>673183223
Not gonna lie I'd probably get a strike.
>>673183374
ok
check my triplets nigglets
>>673183245
>Speaking of autism
>>673183245
>So the world has become a place where people would rather take a video of someone dying then help them
Not the world, just an autistic guy, it was like watching a movie about a /b/tard running his own creep/rekt thread.
>>673178317
overrated piece of touchy-feely garbage
>>673183675
that is not a very nice way to talk about your mum
>>673182656
<3
dude, just started watching tarkovsky.
next ist this, no comment needed
>>673183553
It was a satire peice on on the realistic state of humanity and how media plays it's part . Were all blood thirsty like the crowd of the coliseum. If you couldn't get that then ahhhhh? Do somethin else besides calling others autistic just because they have a different point of view, which at the moment seems a lot larger then your's
American Psycho, this is the best scene.
>>673183644
Excellent movie.
>>673183553
Plus have you not seen all the vids of people doing the same thing as him in the real world? Seems you've never wondered over the live leak. Hey let me introduce you to the internet.
>>673183972
tarkovsky's a fucking master, no question
>>673178317
8+/10 if you speak proper french.

>>673182362
still don't know why I watched this to the end. Don't even know what to think about it.
>>673184430
American beauty is a classic you'd have to see it
>>673183675
I concur sir
If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch...
>>673184495
I gave an hour and a half long presentation on seven samurai for my final college project- quite literally watched the movie to death to prepare it.
>>673184051
>>673184183
I suppose that's why he felt the need to coerce his employer in a weird sexual dominance relationship also, because that's a reflection of the human condition right?
And of course for every video of someone filming bad shit happening there isn't someone else somewhere else helping someone survive a bad situation that never gets filmed.
Humanity has always had fucking dregs, nothings changed, he was just a 2 hour example of one.
superb little-known greenaway film
>>673178068
Same here. Damn good choice
Can't decide on my favourite film, but this is one of my favourite scenes. Whenever I hear the music I get shivers.

>>673172536
Im reading Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep right now. Gonna watch the movie when im done (Blade Runner)
>>673185445
Movie is crap compared to book
>>673185323
It's alright- an amazing story for sure but I didn't find it overly engaging. And when will people realize that cumberland isn't that good an actor?
>>673185323
Yep. Absolutely. Wonderful movie.
Am I the only one? Truly marvelous movie, kid was such a bad ass.
>>673185445
for the love of god watch the extended directors cut, not the cinema version
The best romance film of all time
>>673185317
Which you seem to imply has changed in the last 2 thousand years like it's some deep and meaningful insight. Humanity will never be rid of weird non empathic fucks like him, this in no way indicates that humanity is any worse than it ever has been, it's just more public now.
A 2 hour movie on the topic was dreary and irritating, give me a book any day, movies are for escapism not accounts of an autistic basement dweller.
>>673185533
But... I really liked the movie...

I definitely didn't get that vibe from it.
>>673185794
You are right, we haven't changed at all I was gonna get to that point but you beat me to it, very nice.
Me too btw books are always better.
It isn't my favorite movie I just feel it describes the more dreadful and dark part of human nature, and yes I guess since we agree sheds a little light on crazy people with autisim

Beware, I have a black belt Taekwondo. I'll rek you in just a few moves

>>673186364
Foreign version ++++++
>>673186441
Agreed
>>673186406
Maybe second best if you liked 2001 better. Otherwise you just have shit taste.
>>673186325
Goddamn that is a solid fucking film.
The two characters just absolutely brutalize each other for 2 hours until there's nothing left of either of them. One of my favorites.
>>673186222
Trips confirmed for an accord, I'm gonna head off and watch Black Sails which I probably enjoy more than any movie I've watched.

I liked the shining but Eyes wide shut, 2001, Full Metal Jacket and the clockwork orange are all better than that movie
I love it how in these threads one can find both the autistic pleb and the hipster art fag ends of the spectrum
>>673187055
Heh, used to be pretty common really.
>>673187059
eh full metal jacket's probably the weakest imo. eyes wide shut's very underrated

hey man fuck you. I hate that person with a passion but it was an interesting movie.
>also jerked off to nicole kidman many times
>>673187623
THis movie was so much different than I what I expected from the posters/premise. But it was good. Just weird.
>>673184666
Love the start of this film, but the end kind of falls flat.
And in that theme, here's another that had so much promise but such an empty ending.
Favorite from the silent era. Still holds up well today, in my opinion
>>673181056
Not your typical stoner comedy by a long shot. In fact, I wouldn´t call it a stoner comedy at all. It´s a treasure trove that keeps on giving every time you watch it. It has been hijacked by frat boys and got a bit of a bad rep, but this film is gold.
>>673187472
The soundtrack -- almost exclusively live drumming -- was seriously unique! Very happening.
This movie gave me feels, read the book as a kid.
>Old man and the Sea
>>673185694
Meh, loved the book when i was young, but the movie was fairly bland and as much as i love Kingsley he really can't pull of a Maori.
>>673187801
>>673187730
I know what you mean. I anticipated something like a horror film; not the case, I was hooked.
>>673186325
Best film out of Korea since Oldboy!
Here's another classic.
>>673179692
it's an okay movie but I think it's seriously over-rated. There are much better Coen movies out there.

>>673186755
Very good
bro if you like being angry check this one out
>>673171735
Absolutely love this one. Netflix has it right now.
>>673187660
Interesting to a degree, but after sneaking into a secret society hardly anything truly dramatic happens. A far call from being better than the shining. Full Metal Jacket is a great movie, but the first half of the movie is a very different and far more interesting watch than the second half (even though I wouldn't call the second half bad, the difference is clear). A Clockwork Orange I get, it was an exceptional movie. But 2001 and The Shining are true masterpieces that in my mind are two of the few movies that belong to the greatest movies ever, period.
I drink your milkshake
Goat
>>673188522
Well it's not like I think it's a superb movie; I just place it above the shining a little.
My top 3 from Kubrick is:
1. Full Metal Jacket
2. 2001
3. Clockwork Orange
>>673188799
No love for the best role Peter Sellers ever performed?
>>673188799
My problem with your opinion is that you don't recognize how good of a movie The Shining is. I'm perfectly okay with you liking the others.
>>673188965
Forgot the pic, and should have been roles...
>>673188799
Really? FMJ is your favorite? I thought it was good, but it has too much of a shift after they leave the boot camp. Separate, both halves would make great movies.
>>673189212
Which would completely ruin the juxtaposition Kubrick conveyed and make them pretty much run of the mill war flicks.
>>673189427

Amadeus, by milos forman
Another excellent sci-fi movie
>>673171735
My favourite too m9
>>673190048
It's not good. The boot camp section is unique in it's own right, and the rest of It just doesn't seem to have much to do with it. It's as though someone made one movie that was too short and decided to tack on a totally diffrent movie at the end to extend the runtime
>>673190405
Shut up
>>673190405
meh, I think the gook girl scene was pretty hard
>>673190527
Sorry anon. I still loved the movie, both parts, I just don't think they belong together

Chopper
>>673189109
it's okay mate I see your point.
But.
I agree with Stephen King about that movie. Jack Nicholson was a little over the top which made it kinda cheesy for me.
It's just amazing to watch. One of the few movies that you could watch in a foreign language with no subtitles and still enjoy immensely.

The Breakfast Club. I think that most of my liking to this movie is due to nostalgia, as when I saw it first I was an edgy troubled teen, but it's still my favorite thing in the world.
Kung fu panda 2 made me cry
>>673190405
I agree with this entirely.
>>673190371
indeed
