Its legal because as an anti-tussin medication its extremely effective and as far as abuse goes, you have to take a few grams overdose. Mental problems and addiction are not likely but possible in certain cases. Either way, Dextromethorphan is fun drug when used in the right context by an experienced psycho-naught. I take it around once to twice a month and have very few "Bad trips" and always get over it. Enjoy yourself fellow user of dissociates!

I was very VERY into DXM from about Grade 9 until about 3 years after school, so off and on for nearly 7 years.

Highest dose was almost 1400mg, couldn't get P. Sigma, tried and failed. Thought I made myself retarded, had some very telling (well, FOREtelling hallucinations). DXM is a very potent hallucinogenic, and people should be more careful with it... I once got robbed on 600mg by 3 black dudes after we smoked a joint together... Just business but it was so fucking scary.

DXM + weed though is like the best combination in the world. I had an OOBE while listening to Dr Dre's "The Chronic" and I seriously looked like Dr. Dre. (I'm white)

it's not illegal because it's so effective as a cough suppressant, and anything that prevents the cough reflex in a similar way would have similar psychological effects
