The post you replied to, explained why that is.

Animals - Not evil, does not cause others pain to cause others pain, does not find joy in causing pain for the sake of causing pain.

Humans - Evil, tortures for fun, finds joy in causing severe suffering in other earthlings smaller than themselves.

Ofcourse noone should blame the entire human race for this, but it is the reason why we feel such strong emotions when we see innocent creatures reduced to nothing like this.
