The stories and information posted here are artistic works of fiction and falsehood.
Only a fool would take anything posted here as fact.

It seriously took you half an hour to do that? You wasted about 25 minutes, 4 good canvases, and whatever you used (can't tell if ink or paint)

>>583466119
Yeah but usually it's aesthetically pleasing. This isn't cohesive at all. And it shows no technical skill.

That's pretty generous OP. I would wager $30 for a place on my wall, but that would still prove your point

They were shit canvases, I think 2 or 3 bucks each.

It's acrylic.

And of course it's not aesthetically pleasing. I put close to zero effort into it. But fortunately for me, people eat this shit up.

True, technical skill is overrated in 'modern art'

Mine could be interpreted as a conflict between order and disorder (the crazy lines and streaks clashing with sharper rectangles) but ultimately I leave the interpretation up to the viewer.

Pollock's paintings have fractal complexity, which is one way art historians can spot fake Pollock's and also how they can roughly date Pollocks (increasing complexity later in his career). Anyway, Pollock isn't simply a matter of him doing it first. He did it in a particular, very hard to replicate way that people find appealing.

Nobody will buy when you can't think of a reason why things are the way they are.

Did you do this?

If so, when you sell it to someone, tell them that you made it during a time of extreme emotional anguish (so they feel bad for you)

Say each color represents a different struggle and all the colors intertwined and mixed represent your mixed feelings toward whatever 'extreme emotional anguish' you faced

MESSAGE TO ALL WHO WANT TO BULLSHIT ART FOR MONEY:

Pretend it has a meaning. Me personally, I keep a set of 10-15 different 'meanings' that I can apply to pieces.

How to make bullshit abstract art:

Paint a square somewhere

Dip a toothbrush in paint, flick with thumb to splatterpaint.

Then dip a paintbrush in paint. Flick wrist to make splatters lines.

You're done! Sell for $200.

Rinse and repeat.
