If you don't know Spanish, have a computer handy to translate some because he does wander off in Spanish in those books at times and it'll help you a lot. Very good books. I don't 100% agree with the extremes of her philosophy, and her writing is quite dense to read, but the perspective I gained from reading The Fountainhead was amazing.

I found a similar thing with the Alchemist, but it's such a weak book I could only see it as a vehicle for Coelho's allegorical life meaning.

I don't know why, but I found myself enjoying Speaker for the Dead way more than I did Ender's Game. I felt that the moral dilemmas were more "immediate" and loved the level of mystery sustained throughout the entire book. Don't know how, but I honestly forgot about these books until I saw them in this thread.

I had no idea he made a continuation of that book, I've only read three of his books so far: Crime and Punishment, The house of dead flies, and The idiot. The first two are my favorite, I enjoyed the final scene from the Idiot as well, not some cliche marries his love and lives happily kind of bullshit. Seemed more realistic than some kind of fairytale fantasy.
